Came in with a party of 9 including 2 babies. They put is in the back dinning room, perfect spot. Service was fast and friendly. I had the crab wrap which was delicious! Came with a side of redskin potatoes that were outstanding. My daughter had the Castaway waffle that was loaded with fruit: bananas, blueberries, strawberries and grapes. It was delicious. Wife had the cream cheese French toast that was also delicious. Glad we visited!

Came in late last night for our mini weekend trip and to our surprise the restaurant said they close at 8pm but allowed us to come in to eat. We showed up @730pm. Staff were friendly like always and the server did a great job getting refills and bringing us utensils and things we needed. My party of 4 got a mix of different items. I opted for the blt with fries, my sister got the crab cake sandwich with fries and my daughter got a cheese steak with fries. We ended up getting a slice of carrot cake and cheese cake. All the food was so hot, fresh and tasty. Food is always on point here and always so fresh. Definitely our go to spot when down here.

This place was very nice. We had a group of 4 adults & 5 kids. They sat us in a. Quiet area that we had to our selves. The waitress was very attentive and nice! The food was cheap and very good ! When I'm in the area again I will come again!

Great little breakfast / lunch spot for a classic diner experience. Friendly servers and standard diner breakfast and lunch selections. Bottomless coffee and good breakfast selections. Tried the eggs and the omelettes, and the pancakes. All were good. No frills but perfect for a diner type meal.

Huge portions and the food and service were great! We had a party of 9 - plenty of space for us all. . Seated quickly! Celebrating the 6th birthday of my neighbor's grandchild . Very family friendly! Such a nice time. Would go again for sure!

Always a great meal when we come here! This time around I got the crab melt with shrimp salad and it definitely exceeded my expectations! The crab was so delicious and harmonized with the melty cheese.

Was looking for some breakfast before hopping on the ferry to Lewes and saw the good reviews and stopped in for breakfast to fuel up for some biking. When I walked in, I was welcomed by staff members and was quickly seated. Shortly thereafter, was sipping on a much needed cup of coffee. Did not want anything to heavy and was happy to see Monday's breakfast special which was 1 pancake, 1 breakfast meat, 1 egg, home fries, and coffee for only $4.99. The meal was decent and you could not beat the price anywhere. After placing the order, food came out pretty quick and was as described. Definitely joined the clean plate club and was the perfect portion for what I was looking for. All in all, a great fins that I will be sure to visit again. While I did not take advantage of the coffee refills, they did attempt to top of my coffee which is always a sign of good service. While I took advantage of the breakfast special, there were many items to choose from that seemed equally as tasty.

Been here a few times now and each time the meals have blown me away. Castaway is a very well run place from top to bottom. Each time we've visited here the place has been packed, but it never seems to affect the service. Everything still runs as it should even when the restaurant is full. Their menu is pretty big serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. They have all of your American diner staples so it shouldn't be too tough to find something good. The menu might seem simple but everything is a lot better than you would expect. My favorite dishes so far have been the Prime Rib and the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Most recently I've had that Prime Rib and that piece of meat was cooked just the way it was requested, was super tender, and tasted amazing. Your money goes pretty far here too. The menu prices are very reasonable with very good portion sizes, even for a big boy like myself. I don't really have any criticisms of the place and would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

After receiving suggestions to go to Castaway Cafe, we decided to give breakfast a try and very much enjoyed it! Our timing was perfect as a rush coming in as we were leaving around 11:00am on a Sunday. Our waitress Maryanne was a doll, giving recommendations for a return dinner trip and ensuring we enjoyed our meals. I had the crab Omlette which was the perfect balance of crab, old bay, cheese and egg. As someone who loves condiments and sauce it would have been even more enjoyable with a creamy sauce on top. The homemade home fries we're delicious and the portion was perfect at a reasonable price point. Others at the table enjoyed the sausage and gravy biscuits, stuffed french toast, and build your own breakfast sandwich. Definitely planning on heading back, perhaps for dinner next time!

we genuinely wanted to enjoy this place but it took over 45 minutes for a party of 3 to get our food and even then it was disappointing. the fries were soggy and pickle chips were overly battered out of the five things we ordered id only recommend the chicken caesar wrap itself and the French onion soup. Everything was reasonably price but even then i doubt we'd be coming back here

She was attentive and friendly. In addition to their regular menu, they had a special valentine's centric menu. This made it difficult to choose because we had also been given recommendations from friends on what to order. We settled on French onion soup (delicious), Caesar salad and the filet special from the valentines menu which was accompanied by the creamiest butteriest smashed potatoes (note the menu said mashed but I consider any mashed that contains the skins of the potatoe a smashed potatoe) and asparagus with a reduction. The food was very good. I can't use the term exceptional until I have made more visits - which we will certainly do. I also treated myself to the chocolate strawberry martini. Delicious ! We also had the chocolate mousse topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries for desert. It will go on my top 10 desserts I ever ate list for sure. Needless to say that kitchen is pushing out some fantastic food. The bar is putting out quality pours and cocktails. I would also be remiss if I didn't state that they also had a live guitarist singing and he was good - I didn't catch his name though. Can't give them a 5 star until we dine again ... Thanks local tavern for a great experience!

The views are pretty spectacular and we like watching all the boats come in to dock. Crowd levels can vary during peak season and sunny weather so plan ahead. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking but it still gets busy in their large gravel lot. Especially when they have live music playing -- which is fun! It's an open aired environment with picnic tables so it's best when the weather cooperates. They do have the option to tent the restaurant in to close it off. Service has been okay over the years as they are more of a seasonal restaurant (I'm guessing). On our recent visit we opted for crab cakes which were good. Our son got the all you can eat blue crab. Most dishes range from $15-25 with the all you can eat based on market at around $40-60. After a few drinks the bill can easily crest $150 here for our party of 3. It's worth a visit more for the atmosphere than anything else!

I ordered a yellow fin sandwich, cooked medium rare, which was one of the featured fresh catch fish of the day. Without a doubt this this was probably the best seared yellowfin tuna I've ever eaten. The sear was perfect, the yellowfin was perfectly seasoned and the size was generous. The flavor and texture were perfect as well. I decided to eat it off the bread because I didn't want the the roll to mask the fresh caught yellowfin flavor. The sandwich was served with a heaping amount of tasty and crunchy housemaid chips.
