We were welcomed by several friendly staff members as soon as my son and I entered. We sat at the counter, although plenty of tables in this cute place. Like many others, I have driven by Marge's Diner countless times. It's right on Rt 9 in such a convenient location, but so tiny you might go right past it without realizing. I am so glad I stopped this time because the place is adorable, service and food were great. Inside is very small, 6 tables in one room and a handful of tables in the other. It's so small, the bathrooms are actually in another building. But it makes for a very cozy, down home feeling. We ordered eggs Benedict, "hungry man special" (short stack of either pancakes or French toast, two eggs, and a side of meat), side of tater tots, and an English muffin. We finished every bit, the food was delicious. We were completely stuffed when we left. Our total was $32 before tax & tip. We will absolutely be back to try out some lunch! read more

Upon entering, you immediately felt it was dirty. The food was less than mediocre, at best. Service was good. Don't waste your time or money. It was not cheap and we did not even finish the breakfast. We both felt sick within 30 minutes of leaving. They pride themselves on their motto, "eat here, get gas". Enough said! We had been camping in Middle Township and after passing this diner many times, we finally stopped for breakfast. Wow. Super friendly workers and a menu that had many choices. I had the creamed chipped beef Wow. Delicious and not salty at all. My husband had the Tuscan omelette w/potatoes & a side of scrapple. The platter was very generous, we both had to take our leftovers home. We will be returning for sure. And the prices we extremely reasonable for the amount of food we were given. read more

Super basic offering-typical egg/waffle joint with a sandwich based lunch after 11:30. Portions are just enough to get you through your morning. They don't not splurge by any means on anything. Thin omelets, basic bland cubed potatoes. Decent breakfast meats. Marges is a much welcomed inland joint along the food desert that is Route 9. They're usually pretty busy because of this. The owner will have ZERO problem telling you thanks but no thanks if they're busy. She does not handle it well, imo. Marges could use an ambience/staff to guest awareness check. If you're not interested in hearing about the waitresses home life, relationships, vacations and every other aspect of their personal life, this is not the place for you. It's incredibly hard to eat here and avoid the very loud banter and ranting from the loud staff, who have zero idea what an inside voice or couth is. There's no background music or white noise here to drown them out. They communicate about everything under the sun from across the restaurant during the entirety of your visit. Maybe this is designed by mgmt to get people in and out in a quick fashion. It works! read more

Recently ate breakfast here on the weekend of 8/21/2023 on my way to Cape May with my girlfriend. I ate the Hungryman's Special with French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, and Home Fries. The food has a home-styled feel to it that you won't get at most restaurants and at a good price. We ate in the tiny but homey dining area at the bar. The service was wonderful and the waitress was friendly and responsive. The food itself was cooked to perfection. There may be a short wait time if you arrive close to noon, but it will be worth it. read more

Eat here, Get gas. That is on their menu cover. Our family came here for breakfast and it's good. It's a typical diner and reasonable. We had 7 people and sat at the counter. I had an egg-white Western omelette with potatoes and wheat toast. It was good, just like most diners. My kids had pancakes with bananas and waffles. The waffles took a long time to get to my son. In fact, most of us were almost done eating until he got his waffles - a little disappointing that our meals couldn't come out at the same time. The place is cramp and you might have to wait for a while before you get a seat. The service is pretty friendly. The price is reasonable compared to a lot of the other diner joints in the area. For 7 people, it was $64 including tip. I think it's a 3.5 star place - probably because of how long it took for my son to get his order of waffles. read more

They charge a dollar for a drink refill after charging $1.95 for the original drink. It's a shame as the food is actually good. The staff is also so unfriendly like they all have a bug up their ass! Decent place for an inexpensive breakfast. Uncle Bill's down the road a few miles in Avalon, has a bigger selection and higher quality, but you pay much more for breakfast at Bill's. The place is tiny,so you can expect to wait. Once in and seated the waitresses were all very friendly and constantly offering to fill you coffee cup up. Breakfast, ate it did not enjoy. Requested home fries be hot. They were hot BUT greasy and over-cooked, yuck! Eggs hollandaise-eggs cooked perfect BUT sauce barely warm. Husband ordered The Hungry Man. Sausage was dry and tasteless like it was cooked hours earlier. Toast came cold, not buttered, so of course the butter could not melt.
