And I have to say, my review remains the same at 5 stars...JJ's Diner does not disappoint! Our awesome server was Mary Ann with an M ....she gave us friendly and warm service and she was very attentive. Our food came out hot and was delicious - - i had another waffle, but this time with just bananas - -and hubby had scrambled eggs and hash browns covered in cheese - - and he LOVED every bite as did I. And the coffee is just perfect! JJ's is a bright light and such a heavenly oasis. Everyone should be as happy and positive as the people that work at JJ's. They have worked hard to provide this consistently good food and service over the years. We will make it a point to be back again next time we are in town.

It isn't always available so when you see it you ask for it. It's creamy, light, and just perfect. My husband had the Manhattan clam soup which is always a great starter. You can't go wrong with it and it's one of his favorites. The atmosphere is warm and the staff makes it even better. All the waitresses are personable, they greet us by name and they seem to know so many of the repeat guests. It feels like a true neighborhood spot where everyone is welcome. Just wanted to share two of our favorites from a place we always enjoy. JJ's never disappoints.

After a recent business meeting in the Wildwoods I decided to see why this isolate diner is so busy (And, ask a local how to pronounce Maurice it definitely does not match the name you might be familiar with.). This modern diner shines inside and out but what really matters is the warm welcome, excellent service and awesome diner food. Yes, there is the classic overwhelming menu but I decided to go with the Italian Trio Special, which came with soup and dessert in addition to chicken parm, a meatball and lasagna (Complete you know.). I asked my friendly waitress about the Navy Bean Soup and she admitted to having tried it but she said it was popular. The "cup" of soup comes in a large bowl chock full of ingredients with a taste that rivals any diner's bean soup that I have ever had. I could eat this soup almost every day (No one eats Navy Bean soup every day.). The corn bread square and roll were fresh and yummy! My trio presented me with three options as to where to begin and I am glad that the chicken parm was facing me because it was perfect! The chicken moist under crisp breading with just the right amount of melted cheese and a sauce/gravy that was rich in tomato flavor. The large meatball matched the chicken parm in flavor and its as large and made me happy. The lasagna was so-so because the noodles were very soft and almost melted in my mouth whereas I prefer a chewier pasta. It's meat also did not reach the heights of the parm and meatball so I would call it average. Thankfully I ate the parm first but I would not hesitate to order the Trio again. I had no room for dessert but my delightful waitress said, "I'll wrap up a rice pudding for you to take home." Boy, am I glad she did. It was a large serving that had to wait to the next day but it was really good rice pudding. So, if you are traveling down Route 55 or up Route 55 and your car takes you onto Route 47 in Port Elizabeth be sure to travel hungry because you definitely should stop at the Maurice River Diner!!

I had the "I" Greek omelette, it contained spinach, feta and bacon. This omelette was loaded with fillings. Totally enjoyed it. I also had home fries included with the omelette as well as my choice of rye toast. The home fries were cooked perfect but were unseasoned so very bland tasting. Nothing a bit of salt and ketchup couldn't help. Rue bread was cooked right and was quite enjoyable. My companion had a western, she would have preferred to have cheese in it but at a $2.50 charge a bit too much! They serve Lacas products for coffee and tea, I had a hot tea. I would return on next visit to NJ and recommend it. Good all around Jersey diner!

The order came within 10 minutes. That's a win! My wrap was very good. It wasn't spicy, which I prefer. There were an appropriate number of fries and they were crunchy. We would stop here again if we were in the area.
