I recently gave this place a poor review despite liking their coffee because the service was so poor. I just want to point out that during the week the place runs smoothly from What I've seen. However, the mother daughter act on the weekend is horrific. There is no way they should be running a business for anyone. Nothing gets done efficiently. They literally walk in circles and talk to themselves. Getting an order for something as simple as coffee and bagels can take 30 minutes for no other reason than there is no order or delegation. Waited 40mins for just two bagels. On the slowest day possible. Nobody was in when we came in. And then 7 people were served before us. At minute 35 I went up to ask and then the bagels came out shortly after. However met with bizarre attitude when the man making the bagels came out and was saying with sass - it's a busy Saturday it a busy Saturday. Which just seemed like a lie considering when we got there the whole staff including himself were at the counter laughing instead of waiting on us for a couple minutes. Get the Bagel!! Their freshly squeezed juice isn't bad at all too. They get their bagel from hot bagel. If you are not a local, hot bagel is one of the best bagels out there in the United States, in my humble opinion. Freshly made food! Tried this place a few times hoping it would get a bit better. Also I don't know if their hours online are accurate because I tried to go here twice and it was closed when it said it should be open. It's not bad, but it's not great. Breakfast sandwich was decent but seemed like the bagel was a little stale because it was very hard to chew. If the bagel was fresher it would have been a hit! I did order a smoothie which was very good, however I wouldn't return for coffee. Got an iced vanilla coffee one day which was really bitter even with cream and a vanilla latte the next hoping it would cut the bitterness a bit and there was no different in the taste. Both were extremely bitter. I know coffee can be bitter but the taste was a bit off? Also I don't know if the vanilla is sugar free or not but it also had a very off putting aftertaste. Me and my boyfriend stopped here on the way home from Cape May and it did not disappoint! I got an egg platter with bacon and avocado and my boyfriend got an egg sandwich and both were very yummy. The iced coffee and their regular hot coffee was also very good. Highly recommend read more

Hidden gem- everything is made fresh - scratch kitchen. Stopped in for breakfast with some friends, ordered the Abstract Brunch Bowl, toasted jalapeño bagel with cream cheese, and they had small fresh made cheese and raspberry danishes. Excellent coffee! The bowl was generous size, fresh Avacado, and perfectly cooked fried egg. Home made soups made daily. All priced reasonably for the quantity and quality of the food prepared. Friendly atmosphere- everyone that worked there and who stopped in for food was so friendly, down home local vibe. Expect the best food - great service. Two stars for the ambience. I came in to bring the wife a smoothie for work and ordered one myself. I sat there watching the girl do nothing than three other customers came in after me and she made them their orders right away and chatted with them. I don't mind waiting but thought I would be able to get the smoothies and leave. Finally she made the smoothies one was wrong the other I gave to the wife said it was alright. Terrible experience! Had a bad experience previously but this was the nail in the coffin. Ordered two smoothies right from the menu hanging on the back wall. Price was 5.25 each. I was charged 14.80 total. When I asked about the discrepancy I was told by the woman who made it that menu was 20 years old! Seriously! It's hanging right where they work. No apologies. As I was walking out another women worker there gave a smirk and a laugh. I responded with "you just lost a customer". A young man came out from the back and followed me out to the parking lot and asked me why that was. I told him that the price was wrong on the menu and I didn't like how I was treated when I inquired about it. He ALSO said the menu prices were old. THEY ARE WRITTEN IN CHALK FOR PETE'S SAKE! The old prices are still there. I believe it's deliberate deception. I don't really have the time or energy to report them to the state so at least I can warn others here. And to top it off both smoothies were warm. The old owners ran the place so much better and they were there less than 20 years ago so that was a lie also. BIG thumbs down. read more

This was a huge disappointment - the food was good, let me say that up front but everything else shows that some real management by people who know what they are doing is sorely needed here. Three things: 1/ There is terrible communication - we placed our order and was never told there was a wait, never told it would be "x" minutes. We ordered sandwiches and two craft drinks. After waiting for 15 minutes the cook said to the gal i beleive is the owner that he was backed up and it would be 25 minutes... she told us and I asked if that was 25 minutes from now or 10 minutes since we waited 15 minutes already. She said it would be another 20 to 25 minutes... no problem... we left to run an errand and when we got back 30 minutes later.... yep we had to wait ANOTHER 25 minutes.... so to sum this up - we ordered were NOT told of a wait and then waited almost an hour and 15 minutes for 7 sandwiches and 2 drinks... 2/ Focus was on a lot of stuff, making customers happy was not one of them. As the kitchen was falling behind and the lack of organization was apparent - the gal i believed to be the owners daughter led her friends in a story of how she had just set a personal best for dead lift (225 lbs congrats!). If it was a couple friends in a down minute - no issue but there friends were in the kitchen in the way of the workers actually working and she was much more focused on this than her job. SHe distracted the cook and it was ONLY AFTER her telling this story was the cook able to come out and tell the owner he was behind and it would be 25 minutes for our food. How long would we have waited if she didnt tell her story of her personal glory that tied up the staff??? 3/ They get the basics wrong - I ordered two drinks as I said. One of the drinks was a watermelon lemonade.... I waited 15 minutes before we left for our errand and then almost 30 minutes when we came back - so if there was an issue there was PLENTY of time to tell me... instead when we went to leave they handed us the drinks... there were two problems - one was WITHOUT ASKING they switched my drink to Strawberry instead of Watermelon and second they made the drink well before the food was ready so the ice melted and ruined the drink anyway... They had ample opportunity to ASK me if the switch would be okay - but the daughter who was clearly plotting her next gym workout instructed the barista to make the switch without asking the customer.... that was a new one for me.... make a switch but dont ask the customer. This place will learn you cant do that when someone has a bad allergic reaction and they get sued. I will never ever visit this establishment again. My husband and I were in the area for the weekend and decided to stop in Sunday morning for coffee and a QUICK breakfast. We ordered one bagel sandwich and one toasted bagel with cream cheese. After 45 mins of waiting, the kid working advised us that they just finished a large order and would get working on ours. Excuse me?! We waited AN HOUR for our food and when it arrived, the order was wrong. my husband finished his sandwich before my toasted bagel was brought out. WHAT A JOKE. I understand if you're backed up, but the RIGHT thing to do is warn your paying customers that they will be waiting an entire hour for their bagels. You do not make them sit there without warning. Both my husband and I are in the food service business and can say this is unacceptable. Had they told us there was an hour wait, we would have taken our coffees and left- no harm no foul. It's an absolute disgrace that they gave us no warning and completely derailed our morning. read more

I have been going to this place for at least 15 years now (it was great as Coffee Etc. as well). It's probably my favorite spot to grab something quick. Everyone is super friendly (especially Melissa) and they are very accommodating to your needs. I was thrilled when they started offering açaí bowls! My go-to is the Laida smoothie (pb & banana with almond milk) which is always consistent. They have some of the best healthy offerings in the area...the breakfast sandwiches and bagels are great and so are the panini's! Don't drive past this place! read more

If you try to eat clean, and you appreciate a meal cooked from scratch, with friendly knowledgable service then this is your spot! We loved the crispy almond flour waffles, California egg plate, and fermented iced "tea". Not a lot of shore spots have satisfied when it comes to our fave, coconut- almond lattes, but this place hit the nail on the head. No scorched milk or bitter aftertaste, and the milks are unsweetened, thank you! so you can add as you like, or not! Can't imagine what the other less-than-stellar reviews are dissatisfied with unless it's the old "too pricey" which you hear a lot from folks who are used to cheap food when they visit a quality food place that is casual.
