My friend I remembered Aneu was around the corner coming from a long day at the beach, and we decided to stop in for smoothies before our drive home. We were also hoping to pick-up something to use for dinner. After a quick look around the store we were quite shocked at the prices. Two chicken burgers (just the patties) were $24! Quickly we decided we would not be getting anything for dinner, but we still wanted to try a smoothie, having felt the smoothie bowls were okay last year when we tried them. While, we did order at different times under two different payments, we seemed to be forgotten about while waiting in line. Eventually when we did pay there seemed to be poor communication between the workers. I ordered the High Tide smoothie and my friend got the Blue lagoon smoothie. As soon as the smoothies were handed to us, my expectations plummeted. Instead of a nice thick smoothie, like you would expect from a place that specialized in smoothies and smoothie bowls, the smoothie had the consistency of water. At first I just thought they were over-blended, but upon my first sip I was extremely disappointed in the fact that I just spent almost $12 on what tasted like almond milk. I am guessing the smoothies contain very little of what is listed in the description and is mainly the milk and ice. Overall, this experience at Aneu was one of the biggest let downs I have had while eating out and I will definitely not be returning. read more

My daughter and I stopped in for some coffee. They have a good selection. As well, they have lots of pastry options many of which are gluten free. The service was great and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a good coffee drink / cold brew. read more

5 star service ! We like the food and options are many! Everything is greaf!! We came here multiple times for the Danish, breakfast sandwiches, a wide assortment of salads and chicken. A special shout out to the beignets - the berry was my favorite! The Quesadilla was so good, it never made it back home, I ate it cold. The lemonde, while a tad sweet, was refreshing. My favorite was the Couscous salad, bright with cauliflower and red pepper, carrots and more!! Overall Delightful!!! But the best part of the experience was the great great service. I want to like ANEU so bad. it's so cute the shop in the back has beautiful pieces and i feel like there's a lot of focus on reducing waste. however I've gone twice and been disappointed in their food both times. First, the egg feta spinach wrap was all egg and no flavor couldn't finish it. the next time i got the everything bagel with egg bacon and cheese. the bagel is not a jersey bagel, tastes more like a wawa bagel it's not toasted which is preference but lowered the quality for me. and there is no spreads or sauces to spruce up the taste or texture. $30 for two sandwiches and one drink is insane. i wouldn't mind it if i loved the food but it's not worth it. I will say their juices specifically the Morning C-breeze is very good. read more

We wish this location was open all year but at this time they are open during the summer only. The reason we love ANEW is because everything is real, whole food ingredients, with no added preservatives, chemicals, etc., and is top quality all hand made daily by their incredible chefs in-house. They have the most amazing variety of proprietary recipes from breakfast, to lunch, to dinner items. The salads are out of this world and not available anywhere else, only at ANEU. You can even choose from pre-cooked, uncooked, or frozen for many of the lunch and dinner items depending on your schedule. Also available fresh daily are custom pastries and desserts to die for. They even have breakfast sandwiches! The staff is amazing. Somehow the ANEW culture of friendly, professional, customer service still exists at its finest throughout the entire staff. A special shout-out to Deanna in the Ocean City location for her contribution to the top-notch service that you are guaranteed to experience. I could go on and on, but to make a long story short let me close by simply saying that ANEW is by far the "BEST IN CLASS" in South Jersey and we are customers for life. Good food with a lot to choose from dessert, drink, and meal wise. They have multiple kinds of scones, croissants, bagels, protein balls, quiches, pies, locally made fudge and chocolate, and more that I can't remember. Their deli case had multiple salads and proteins available. Leek and Parmesan croissant was great, as were the cinnamon chip scones. Chatted with the owner for a bit, she was really nice and it was cool to hear a little about Aneu. It is pretty pricy though (ex. $1 for syrup in cold brew that's already $5.75 is quite steep), so if that's a factor for you, this place probably isn't the right fit. I have visited this new "Kitchen, Juicery and Market" three times during our stay. It's important to note that I'm staying on 4th and this establishment is on 55th. That's how much I love the concept. There's standard fare sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), OC's new obsession- bowls, juice, smoothies, quiche... Theres also frozen prepared foods that lean healthy but don't scream "kale!" My favorite part of this establishment is the nightly dinner offerings and the lunch bags for your home or beach (though we are too far away to really take advantage of this.) The offerings include fun alternatives to subs and chips (brisket, chicken dishes, citrus quinoa, fruit salads, broccoli salad, etc.) We ordered their catering offering for July 4th. We got ribs, brisket sliders, crab cake sliders, pulled pork, watermelon, potato salad, coleslaw, cookies... We had a few hiccups- the person taking our order earlier in the week told us we could come pick everything up at 3 pm. We got a call around 1 on the 4th (while we were on the beach) that the store was closing at 2 so we had to scramble. There also weren't any heating instructions on anything, which I believe was just an oversight as their menus says they come with instructions. All this to say, I've enjoyed most of their offerings. I have cringed a little at some of the price points (catering for the 4th was $45 a person) but I believe they reflect the current market. Paid $25.00 for four iced coffees. (Not lattes... just mass produced ice coffee from a vat.) it is just so criminally overpriced. Worth it to drive down to 4th street for Positively. I wish there was a homey coffee shop on the south end but it doesn't exist. A few reviewers have complained about the prices but I'd rather pay a couple extra dollars to support a small family-owned business instead of a fast food restaurant, especially when it's fresh and healthy and delicious. read more

I really want to support new small business so this is a challenging review to write. Nutrition is very important. Probably the most important factor in our health and wellness. The sign above the door says some thing about food being medicine. This is true. Unfortunately this place doesn't live out this philosophy. This place looks like it's founder is new to the nutrition sciences and thinks that a consumer who's paying $15 for a salad doesn't care whether it's organic and non-GMO and how the ingredients are sourced. For cost comparison example, Kreation Organic in Santa Monica a city with some of the more expensive places to eat in the country, would not charge that much for one of their salads and the owner is meticulous in how she sources her food and her employees are fully aware of how to inform the customers of what they're eating, and everything is freaking delicious. Maybe for this area of renters and in high season the prices backed by branding alone will fly, but I doubt it. People are much more aware and conscious now of ingredients sourcing and cleanliness, especially people coming to get vegetable juice. The employees knew nothing about how any of the ingredients are sourced, where the fish came from etc.... They looked lackadaisical and cleaned while we were in they are not offering any enthusiasm for the product or even a welcoming feeling. There is plenty of sugar available as well, which is most of us know is the opposite of medicine. Fine to offer this but there are lots of delicious baked goods now that do not use sugar, a known immune suppressor. I would imagine if the owner believed food is medicine this reflect in the product, again. The cookbook available at the register, lists corn as an OK vegetable to eat conventionally. Nothing could be further from the truth which I will not get into here but.I imagine the owner has a lot of money to spending a fancy store but didn't spend as much time researching nutrition or customer service. read more

Food and smoothies are absolutely delicious! It's a little pricey, but no worse than anywhere else here in the summer. As a south end local, I'm glad to have a weekend bakery within walking distance for the summer where I can grab something yummy and also support a small business (while not losing my parking spot at home). read more

As a local, it is nice to have food stores in the southern part of Ocean City. Much like Boyar's, this place is only open seasonally (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend). They do have a bit of a better selection of coffee than any other place around, though I high not tried personally. There is also some outdoor seating. If you like thin smoothies, bitter and weird coffee, and giving all your money away, this is the place for you. I wanted to give it a second chance after an expensive mistake last summer, but after my experience this morning, I shall not return for a third visit. We need good coffee on this end of the island.
