My 2nd visit to Fitzpatrick's was for dinner on Saturday 9/19/26. My husband and I don't live in the area, but each year we come down for vacation to Ocean City. We had a great experience last year, so we decided to return. We arrived at approx 6:30pm (with our bottle of wine) and the main dining room was pretty full. We were seated immediately. Our server was very cheerful and attentive despite the busy evening she was having. This time I tried the Quesadillas and my husband had the pan seared mahi mahi. It came with a cup of soup - which was a clam chowder. He said the mahi was under seasoned and slightly overcooked for his liking. My Quesadillas were perfect and I also had a side order of onion rings. I wasn't able to finish my food so I took home a box. And I got some rice pudding to go. They had a live musical artist performing in the dining room as we were eating, and he was pretty good. On our way out, I threw $5 into his tip jar. Since our last visit, nothing really changed, but we will return. Maybe next time it will be for breakfast? read more

I usually end up at Fitzpatrick's for breakfast or lunch, and it's become one of my go-to spots. They have traditional Jewish deli food, which is pretty amazing considering it's an Irish deli! Their whitefish and lox platters and sandwiches are incredible, and their omelettes are also fantastic. Honestly, their sandwiches in general never disappoint. The service is another reason I keep coming back. Every time I go, the service is fast and the waiters and waitresses are pleasant and efficient. It's a great option for breakfast if you're on the islands and don't feel like dealing with the crazy wait times at some of the restaurants. Revisited this evening at 7 pm. A longtime, very local establishment for many years. She was looking for crab cakes, but they were sold out. So Coconut Shrimp fit the bill, ranked a 4-STAR. Otherwise, they have a huge Menu. It's available online. I had the Roast Beef au jus sandwich on a sub roll. It been many, many years since I've had a decent this type of sandwich within Atlantic County, NJ. This was one I've had in many years....EXCELLENT !!! TASTY, THINLY SLICED....PERFECT! Yet everything else was excellent. Wait for table time: 15 MINS. Ambience: Fully enclosed 1950's style dining area. Mostly out of town summer beach goers. The locals cal them "SHOBEES". Menu Selections: Average with something supposedly for everyone. Prices: $18-26 average per person Food ordered and served: As ordered, about 28 mins. Observations: Both our meals were excellent. Summer at the shore is over two weeks after Labor Day which should bring the locals back and the crowds down. Service: Highly friendly, excellent and helpful, to say the least. I've known Bill Sr. for eons but not Bill Jr. You've GOT to do better. We tried the Thurs night chicken pot pie special and were very disappointed! Small, watery with only ONE chunk of turkey. The rest were tiny bits floating around in an over salted crust. $23.00??!! Suggestion for the chef. Go to Smithville Inn and try theirs for tips. There's is currently $26.00 and perfect (see pic of Smithville's attached). On another note, when our waitress stated the sandwich guy at dinner is sloppy and inconsistent compared to the lunch guy, you know there's zero.zero oversight. Stopped in for lunch and while there was nothing catastrophically wrong with the meal, it wasn't great either. The place was busy for lunch on a Tuesday and is a hybrid of an Irish pub and a diner in terms of decor. Went with the roast beef sandwich and a side of fries. The beef was under seasoned, a bit colder than I'd like on a warm sandwich and a bit chewy. The horseradish sauce lacked a kick, even after getting more on the side. Fries were solid. I have been driving by Fitzpatrick's deli for years and finally stopped in for lunch. The atmosphere was very diner like not what I would think of as a steak house. Service was fair as server didn't stop by for drink refills. I left my phone on the table and no one came after me despite having cleaned the table very quickly. I ran back into the restaurant table was cleared and they were ready to sit another party down. I stopped the stop bus boy and asked if he found my wallet which was not taken to the front best move to a service area location. I will say the corn beef was great quality and had just the right flavor. Rye bread was soft and tasty. If I'm the mood for a good corn beef sandwich this is the place to go. read more

I got a ribeye special and it was very good. It came with mushrooms and onions on top of it, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The service was great. When we first got there around 6:00 pm there wasn't that many people there, but as time went on the place started to fill up. The room was very quiet which was nice. Last Friday, we had a surprise birthday celebration at Fitz's for our sister who was visiting from LA. We reserved a dozen seats on the "porch." They ok'd my daughter arriving 1/2 hour early to set up balloons. I have to say the affair went off flawlessly! As usual, the staff was wonderful. The server came over 10 minutes after we were seated to take our drinks and food order. She returned once to give drinks and then once to deliver the food. Stopped over for lunch with MDW, and the food could not have been better. When you make a sandwich, you're not supposed to use a hydraulic press on both of the cheese and the ham before you add to the sandwich. It's supposed to be light and airy. Which can be achieved by folding the meat 2x. It's not that hard Let me just ask the peanut gallery: should everything squish out of the sandwich when you take a bite? Went for lunch on a Monday and it was full. So looks like they have a following. I ordered the turkey special and had it grilled. Loved that it was served with extra Russian dressing. Turkey was warmed as well. It was very filling and very good. Potato salad served with it was a large portion but I found it very bland and would have been fine with chips. We have been coming to Fitzpatrick's since we were kids, over 40 years. It has changed significantly and for the worse. The Italian Sausage and Onions omelette had 4 little pieces of sausage. Not enough to call this a sausage omelette. The corned beef hash has never had green peppers. It now does and takes away from what made it so good. The pancakes are dry. Would love some butter and syrup but what was provided was not enough. 10 yo niece got the New Orleans French Toast and she said that she needed a chainsaw to cut it, her words not mine. We had to find someone for a refill when coffee ran out twice. Why? Because the waitress was mysteriously absent. Waitress showed up three times. Once to take the orders, once to deliver drinks, once to deliver food. Everyone near us is complaining about the waitress. We had to chase her down for everything else. Most of the time we could not find her and someone else helped out. Their prices have kept pace but the quality has not and service is non existent. Also, they overcharged us for items on the special again. This happened to us the last time we were here too. To start, I insisted we try the Buffalo cauliflower bites...I don't know what I was thinking! They were awful. I felt so terrible wasting them but I couldn't get past two bites. As for a main, I went with the grilled chicken wrap...Oy! The wrap probably would have been OK if the Caesar dressing came on the side, but there was so much of it sitting against the fresh and not chicken that it ended up clumping and was the farthest from appetizing. A super let down! The only saving grace of this meal was the French fries that weren't even mentioned as included...what a lovely surprise! J got the bacon cheeseburger and said it was probably one of the better things Fitzpatrick's can make. We chose to do a regular pickup order...we arrived past our given time to an unready order- fine not a huge deal, BUT.....the place barely was serving people...to the point that all the servers were sitting around chatting with each other. We started at their old location in the Groveland Plaza and when relocated to their NEW RESTAURANT, We have continued to enjoy their delicious breakfast, lunch and dinners! I must add that when we our family and friends visiting, We will drive from Linwood and order from there wide selection of DELI, SALADS, CHOPPED LIVER AND LOX, WHITEFISH AND BREAD! The Staff is amazing and it is a pleasure to be greeted by the same friendly people who treat every customer with a genuine appreciation and a smile. I can also add that every item on the menu is served perfectly and any requests are responded immediately! If your glass of water, coffee or beverage is half filled, the staff is always there with a refill at no extra charge! It's hard to look past the overall bland and overpriced food when our first experience was a rude host. The male host with long shaggy hair was rude and acted like it was a bother that we came here for a meal. I even heard him whisper to the other host that he just plans on seating everyone else before us (we had a larger party) because he doesn't feel like figuring out where to put us. We waited an hour for our quoted 30 minute wait. It doesn't feel right to be treated as an inconvenience for something as simple as coming into a business for their intended purpose. I'm cautiously issuing this place with a 5/5. I had a great experience this morning and my dad is a frequent customer and always leaves happy. That influences my review heavily. My dad can be a tough customer. There were a couple of minor flaws but they weren't glaring. I was easily able to overlook some things being that I enjoyed both the meal and service. I decided to go ahead and do some breakfast while dad did the white fish and lox combo platter. The omelette I ordered was good but that's hard to ruin. I thoroughly enjoyed their hash browns. They were cooked nicely with some chopped onion and good flavor. The lox and white fish was very fresh. I tasted it and was impressed. The kicker was the price to portion ratio. Slightly off putting as far as I'm concerned. Definitely could've tossed one more piece of lox onto the platter at that price AND I could've used some more potatoes on my plate. Went there because they were having October Fest menu - Wienerschnitzel and spatzle are not often available in South Jersey. I feel that restaurants that don't t take reservations don't respect their customers but went anyway. There were four of us and we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. 45 minutes we were finally seated by a host who couldn't get me name (Jim) straight. The October Fest menu was very confusing. Tow of us wanted Iced Tea - they just ran out - at 6PM. They later Found Iced Tea. Got the potato pancakes which were pretty tasty but quite greasy. The Wienerschnitzel and spatzle were very disappointing. I'm used to an authentically prepared Wienerschnitzel and this wasn't it. The spatzle were OK and I'm being generous. The place is pretty run down, our server was polite but just OK and overall - I won't be back. read more
