The indoor dining room was bigger inside than I expected. We ate once outside and once inside. The service outside was much slower. When our food came out, we had to wait for utensils. Then I had to wait again for syrup. No sense of urgency. Indoors we had no issue since more attentive people passing by walking around. For food, I loved the Lemon ricotta pancakes. Our food was fresh and delivered quickly. We enjoyed the meat omelette which was loaded and left our Mike with plenty to take home. Herlyn loved her chipped beef and said it was then"best" she's had! It was delicious, I must say as it was not thick & heavy and quite flavorful. My breakfast of boiled eggs, canadian bacon(3 pieces of juiciness) & perfectly cooked potatoes was very good. Staff is very friendly and attentive to me when I visit. Brigantine is a very family oriented town and they are the people who frequent the Pirates Den. I have also noticed a lot of regulars who are probably locals since there aren't that many restaurants in the area. It does get busy during summer so expect a wait especially at dinner time. I also started with their homemade French Onion soup. The soup was delicious and was not salty. It reminded me of when I had it in Paris. We went to dinner on Saturday, August 16th, 2024 and ordered seafood. It was all frozen and not fresh. I complained and sent my dish back which they said they would discount. Fluffy and huge short stack with butter and syrup and a side of perfectly toasted rye bread with butter make a filling breakfast to start your beach day. My wife enjoyed her scrambled eggs with side of hash browns and some of my short stack. Bottomless cups of coffee and tea to wash everything down. Before I give my review, I am a former food & and beverage director of a casino resort. The service was good. the outdoor seating with the sounds of the ocean was great The food was horrible, borderline inedible. French onion soup: flavorless, topped with cheddar and american cheese, and OLD BAY, seriously? Clams casino: HAD AMERICAN CHEESE on it!! WTH?! The chef / owners can not be from Jersey. Crab cakes: all filling barely no crab could not finish, vegetables no flavor That was just my meal. My partner had the catch of day, which was dry, an inedible. I truly can not believe they are serving this food and think it's ok. I hate to leave this review, but it truly would not be right to let others go there without knowing how bad the dinner was. I heard the breakfast is fantastic. I hope and pray the owners & and chefs reevaluate the dinner menu because it's not working. I can't even imagine there was a menu tasting before they put this menu. I politely told the waitress, and she clearly saw we couldn't finish apps or meals. I also told the front desk at check. Most of the breakfast menu is pretty generic for a beach town but it has some unique things. I got the sweet potato omelette which was very good. I wished the toast wasn't so heavily buttered but I guess I should have asked for no butter. It was nice that a good size meal was less than $10.
