I am not quite sure what I was expecting but I certainly was in anticipation of a great lunch with lots of reasonably priced options because it's lunch time, right? An empty parking lot and only two diners in a large dining area is never a good sign but the server was "friendly" (Fitting for a location that once housed a Friendly's ice cream restaurant.). There were no signs of the former occupant and the dining area is very appealing with a sense of being upscale, which conflicted with my hopes of a reasonably priced lunch menu. In fact there is no lunch menu and the prices sort of jump at your eyes because they are so much more appropriate for an evening out. Perhaps the empty dining room fills up with patrons later in the day. So, I went with Pho. Flank steak, vermicelli rice noodles, and please all the veggies (Why ask?). My very sufficient bowl arrived quickly with the side plate of Thai basil, lime, and bean sprouts. I went looking for the bottles of hoisin and sriccha but my server pointed to the small white bowl with red and brown colors ... ahh no bottles, which at first I was disappointed in not having them accessible to me but this is upscale dining and those table bottled always have a sense of community to them. I asked for more sriccha and it was delivered. The beef pho base was good the flank steak arrived cooked rather than rare and my lunch satisfied me except I was hoping for something more or different and closer to street food because it was lunch time Heck the server on a sunny day was friendly and you can't go wrong with that read more

We had ordered from Lil Saigon a few times at work but I had never been to the actual restaurant. My team decided to pick Lil Saigon for our holiday lunch since one of our teammates is vegan and Lil Saigon offers vegan options. We were greeted at our table by fruit infused water. We decided to start with the scallion pancakes and we opted for the vegan option. They were huge and some of the crispiest I have ever had. Perhaps the absence of egg made them more crunchy, but we absolutely loved them. My go to is their "Box" option which consists of a base, protein, and side. I had never tried it in person before, but the presentation was beautiful. I always do the grilled pork and rice but decided to switch up my base to the vermicelli. I also did the fried spring rolls. The pork is juicy and flavorful mixed with the pickled carrots and radish. My coworker got the Crispy noodles with tofu and I was so amazed at the presentation I just had to take a pic. The portions at Lil Saigon are huge and the quality is top tier Vietnamese for our area. Definitely check them out! read more

Fantastic clean restaurant! Staff are all very nice and accommodating. Has a small separate room that could likely be reserved for moderate sized groups. Food is all very fresh and comes out pretty quick. Large portions and delicious food for anyone and lots of food restrictions including heart vegan, vegetarian, and gf options. Previously had their pho which was also reasonably excellent and very large portion that could be split for 2-4 people. Pretty much everything we have had in house was delicious! They deliver! I really appreciated being able to maximize my limited beach time by getting delivery to Longport. Bahn mi orders are huge, basically two small sandwiches in one box. first time going in here. I'm a fan of Vietnamese food from other places. I asked the counter guy what came in a couple of dishes as I don't eat cabbage or bean sprouts and he advised there was no bean sprouts in the dish that I ordered. There WAS bean sprouts in my dish and in my spring rolls -- now trash!! I purchased their special meal with lemon grass and I asked for shrimp he said fine but did I not state there would be a $5.00 substitution charge. I could've got it with the chicken and an addition of shrimp for the same price. The total of $28 for a lunch meal with four shrimp in it and it had a mountain of noodles and no flavor. Overall great food, atmosphere, and service. The inside was redone very nicely and has a nice look. All employees were friendly and knew a lot about the menu/business. We were luckily sat without a reservation, but definitely recommend making a reservation because it got busy during dinner hours. To start we got the fried wontons and they were really good, wish they came with more lettuce, but they tasted great. Limeade was expensive but SO worth it--its amazing. Pho beef soup was also really good, the soup portions were so big that we took home a full container for each soup. Will definitely get the soup again! Lettuce cups were a good sized portion filled with chicken, probably will try something different in the future but they were good. Everything was fresh and the portions reflected the price. The flavors are intensely satisfying. It's a sweet start, backed up by chili oil with undeniable heat. The rice noodles assure your taste buds that they will want more a moment later, when the heat subsides leaving you wanting to dive in again. We met friends here while on a roadtrip from Cali. I'm actually really surprised at the current rating of this place (3 stars is not justified maybe even sabotage?). This place is very clean inside (including the bathroom) with reeeally good food and the staff was so friendly. Our table had the pho, bun bo hue, lotus salad, spring rolls, egg rolls, grape leaf appetizer, crispy noodle, and I forget what else but EVERYTHING that came out was sooo good! (And I should know, I eat Vietnamese food at least once a week and have had it across the US and Vietnam.) I highly recommend the crispy noodle and grape leaf wrap here. For south jersey this was decent, it was fresh and the restaurant was clean, but it is not authentic Vietnamese food. The vegan bahn mi was tasty and the waitress was excellent (named maya?). But that vegetarian pho was not good, also considering we found a floating half cooked bouillon hard and gross in the soup! Ok...the hot pot was OK, but still lacked salt and basic flavor. I had to add hoisin for any appeal. The hoisin was good. Hoisin fixes everything. This was the former Friendly's so that was sorta cool actually. Everyone was getting plastered in the restaurant. It was the first time trying Lil Saigon and we loved it! We had the fried pork wontons, rice with chicken and vegetables and the soup. Portions were big so we had leftovers for the next day. We wrapped the wontons in the lettuce and the sauce they served with it was delicious. The rice was good and cooked fresh and the soup was excellent! A lot of the 1 stars here have some pretty dumb reviews. This was the best pho we had in the area. It's one of the nicer restaurants in this town. The service staff were friendly and attentive, the food came out quickly, and it was inexpensive. We will be going back regularly. Did takeout from here the other night. It was excellent. We ordered the flank steak, chix lettuce wraps, fried wontons. Grilled chix with white rice, grilled salmon, kimchee and did the side salad and side slaw. Was very impressed with the quality. Also, when I picked up the food, the restaurant was very clean and the dining are seemed like a good BYOB spot for a casual dinner. The only things that weren't perfect: salmon was overcooked and we ordered the veggie rice wrapped roll app and it was just rice, bean sprouts and the wrap. No other veggies. Didn't actually get to eat there, judging from the crowd I'm sure the food is wonderful, but I don't plan to return. My date and I found a sign in their entryway very off putting- something to the effect of "we're full, no walk ins or take out" , never actually seen anything like it , so we will keep our money in our pockets and won't return. Let me start by saying that my family dined at Lil Saigon when it was at the Exchange in Linwood numerous times. We loved that place. This place is not the same. This is an example of when same pop up restaurants aren't ready for the real world. We arrived at 630pm. My glass had lipstick on the rim. Luckily there was an extra glass on the table. We Ordered within minutes. We received our entrees at 7:20pm. The fried shrimp and calamari was bland. The calamari was chewy. The shrimp had shells half way through. We ate one of each and sent it back. My son was dining with us. That wasn't safe. The server said he would take a percentage off, although we didn't eat the dish in its entirety. When another server checked in on us, we expressed our concern about the shrimp and she said "oh yea, the server must've forgotten to tell you, the shrimp has shells". Let me just say it wasn't just the tail (we expected that). It was almost half way through. Even after just checking a few others. Lastly, We had to wave down our server numerous times for sauces that were missing, refills and napkins. We are extremely disappointed in Lil Saigon. Unfortunately, will not be returning. I understand that new location takes awhile to have everything clicking but the experience was horrible. There were 4 of us and 2 got spring rolls on rice paper that came out quickly but we're mostly rice. The 3rd appetizer came out about 30 min later and the 4th about 90 min after we got there and 5 minutes after the fourth person got their main course. Two of us got our meals about 45 min after ordered, the 3rd an hour after ordered and the last as above 90 minutes. So much for service or lack of it. My chicken lime strips had no taste and the chicken was tough. My wife's shrimp was cooked in very salty fish sauce and was mediocre. There were no apologies about the delays. No one asked if we liked the food. We had a 6:30 reservation and didn't get out till 9:15. Waste of time and money and although the restaurant was nicely decorated it didn't make up for the other shortcomings. Not going back. read more

This was my second visit to Lil Saigon and the food is good but when I walked into the restaurant I was watching a party of 4 leave because their 6:30pm reservation wasn't ready by 7pm. My reservation at 7pm was ready and we sat down at 7:05pm and ordered our food right away. Our first appetizer arrived with in 5 minutes ;ater which was ok than our soup appetizer arrived 3 minutes later which was ok but when my husband's main course arrive 5 minute later when we were still eating our appetizer that wasn't good especially since who serves one entree without the other person's entree. Our waiter was very good and apologized for the mixed up. Since it took so long for my entree to arrive I got the meal to go. When I was leaving I told the cashier about the issues I was having not to complain but to help them not to have these problems in the future and she was very condescending about my issues. I believe when a customer has an issue you should consider your restaurant made a mistake and should work on correcting the issue and not pretend the problem didn't happen. I would like to reiterate that the food was good and my waiter was excellent. My issue is how the kitchen runs their food service. read more
