My wife and I haven't had Chinese food on the shore a couple years, so instead of having hoagies and pizza Saturday try a new Chinese place. And I'm sorry to say it was not good! Maybe some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. And believe me I don't like saying that, but that's the way my wife and I both felt. read more

Got my order all wrong and made opposite of how I requested. Even though I asked twice to clarify and was told yes. A major miscommunication with the kitchen. read more

The food is very good. Service was also very good. Ambiance I mostly do takeout but from what I could see it also looks like a nice place to dine in. read more

My favor did on menu is sweet and sour pork, most restaurants are used belly pork or bone-in pork, I don't like it, but finally I find Ocean Garden they used boneless pork and no belly fat, that was amazing! I can finished the whole entree Stuffed lotus root it's my special order, that was my childhood favorite dish, I can't believe they can make that are so much good, if anyone wants to try, please call before 2 days for requests. These two dishes are highly recommended! read more

Had just the Wonton Soup Superb. Home-made dumplings which were so delicate. The Broth was balanced and seasoned. The Pork inside the oh-thin Wontons was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I will update this review once the entrees are tried. This soup kind of blew me away. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the future experience. ********************************* **The update to the previous review is very NEGATIVE. Came in to order entrees. Tried to make small talk, complimenting their soup. The owner was rude. Yep, rude. How about a smile? Maybe a thank you? Nothing but stone-cold ignorance from the owner. And small businesses wonder why they go out of business. Will not be back as long as it's under this ownership. The owner needs to get herself together. Only 2 tables were taken so it wasn't because they were busy. read more

We had several dishes broccoli in garlic sauce, general tso's tofu, vegetables over chow fun, and eggplant with bean curds. Our food was delicious and plentiful. We even had left overs an they too were delicious! Yum well worth it. read more

Run of the mill Chinese food. Okay for take out in a rush. Not impressive just average.

What happened? Weak watery sauces. Mediocre flavors. Very disappointed. Used to be our go-to.

Everything! Food and staff It doesn't matter what day of the week or what time of the day they are always on point.

I selected the honey shrimp and they were very tasty with a generous portion . My husband had the salmon bento box and remarked how tender and flavorful it was. This restaurant does not have a fancy interior but don't let that fool you. If you are in Somers Point and have a hankering for good solid Chinese food, please give this place a try. read more

Everyone working here is super friendly! The last time I went here with my sisters, I saw a party of 7 people commending the workers and asking them for their names. You can tell that this restaurant is more than just about business - they try to create relationships with their customers as well. As for the food, we were given a complimentary fried wonton chips with a sauce as a dip. It is obvious that the sauce is homemade and not the typical duck sauce that comes in the package because it has a unique sweetness to it. The chips were crispy and had a nice crunch. We ordered crabmeat fried wontons and BBQ spare ribs as appetizers. Wontons were crispy as well and the stuffing was a good balance. The spare ribs were delicious!! We ordered the small serving size for the sparse ribs for about ~$7 and we got 6 ribs, which is pretty good. For the entrees, we got General Tso's chicken and Shrimp Ho Fun. The chicken surprised me because I was not expecting it to have a crunch since there was sauce on it. It is one of the better General Tso's that I have tasted. The Shrimp Ho Fun was decent, but could use a little bit more flavor. For dessert, we got something called Fried Milk. It's a condensed milk mixture fried in a batter. I absolutely love it! This dessert is unique to only Ocean Garden, so you can't find it anywhere else! read more

Tried this place for the first time. We had egg rolls, Chinese pizza, fried wontons, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice and almond cookies. Just about everything was very good. Our only dissatisfaction was the Chinese Pizza seemed a bit dry. We will go back there. The place looked like a nice restaurant to sit and eat. read more

Was closed for a long time during pandemic. When it reopened, it apparently had new owners, and sad to say, the food wasn't nearly as good. The staff were all young and inexperienced, too. So sorry. read more

The food here is delicious. We had the shrimp dumplings, pepper fish, and teriyaki chicken wings. This really is the best food down the shore highly recommended! read more

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was so nice and attentive. The entire place was so clean and so pretty. This is definitely mine and my families new favorite spot. read more

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken from here and the chicken almost seemed underdone?? the chicken was not white (didn't look raw) but did not look fully cooked. Not to mention the grease that dripped off the chicken was disgusting. I had to throw it out. Worse part was after 20 minutes I got so nauseous I had to run to the bathroom and unfortunately got sick. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Shouldn't get sick immediately after eating. read more

The only Chinese restaurant I'll order from, seriously! I've never been disappointed. No matter what you get, the food is always delicious and fresh, and the service is always friendly and fast! Thank you Ocean Garden! read more

Solid American style Chinese food. Chicken with eggplant, egg foo young, veggie fried rice, wonton soup are all tasty. Their food is slightly fresher than other joints. I love that the wontons are soft and thin. This is our go-to place around here. read more

I ordered the crab Rangoon and the general chicken. The crab Rangoon was good, six came to an order. When I picked up the order, I asked if there was Duck Sauce she said yes it was one pack of the duck sauce for six crab Rangoon's nowhere near enough they did not have any extra to offer. Then I tried the general chicken that was not good at all the chicken had a strange taste. The pieces of chicken were huge and the general chicken sauce was almost clear and consistency of almost water. read more

Great lunch combo menu. Good hot and sour soup. Pork fried rice pork egg foo Yong and shrimp in lobster sauce

Not what it used to be. I don't know if they changed owners? I think it was china may before? I ordered general tso chicken, the pieces are like the size of baseballs, who does that? The sauce is mediocre. I dont think I would order from here again. read more

Stopped in for dinner with my husband and sisters. We ordered the special for for people. It came with wonton soup, egg rolls, fried rice, white rice, and 4 main dishes (mixed vegetables, shrimp and broccoli, beef and broccoli, generals chicken). More than enough food for four people. The wonton soup was very good. The egg rolls were a little bland, not sure what they were missing. All the main dishes were excellent. The service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and very attentive. Definitely a great place to go when you are in the mood for Chinese. read more

We stopped in twice in the last two weeks. We were pleased both time. The service was prompt. The food arrived in a timely fashion. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. This place is a cut above the average Chinese restaurant. When in the area I would most definitely stop in again. I highly recommend it read more

My favorite Chinese place. I come from 35mins away for their food. Always fast but very friendly.

We tried Ocean Garden Kitchen based on the reviews here. One star for this place is being quite generous. I'll take this one dish at a time. Pork Roll-What happens when you fill an egg roll wrapper with half the filling it can accommodate . A doughy bland tasting not crispy product. Spring Roll-Soft, mushy, tasteless. Pork fried rice-Bland tasting rice with a few cubes of pork tossed in. Sesame Chicken-Small pieces of chicken coated with a thick rind of mushy dough. Work Shu Duck-Generous portion, but over cooked and dry. Shrimp and Lobster sauce-Three overcooked shrimp in a watery, cloudy "sauce" with no discernible taste whatsoever. Spare ribs-Tough, overcooked, and so salty they were literally inedible. Usually, after getting Chinese food we have lots of leftovers, but after trying everything, we tossed the entire meal. read more

Was craving Chinese food for the first time in a longer time and let me tell you, it doesn't get any better than this. Was leaving for a 24 hour shift, so I stopped here for meals throughout my shift. I am currently sitting here finishing it and planning on going back once I'm done work. I went with the General chicken special, lo mein pint, and wonton soup. Everything was amazing. Very clean place, staff was incredibly friendly. I was a little worried when I was told that this place was under new management, because I really liked the old management, but you absolutely cannot beat the quality and taste of this food! 10/10 I'm hooked. read more

Best Chinese food in the General area. The key is they use high quality ingredients. When you walk into the restaurant the smell is incredibly appetizing. They aren't perfect, but felt closer to 5 stars than 4, especially compared to other Chinese food in the area. read more

It wasn't bad but have had better. The orange chicken was okay but not great. The shrimp egg roll and crab meat/ cheese wontons were good. Fast and friendly service and a cute place. I would try again but would order a different entree. read more

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant for our annual Christmas day dinner. We found this place on yelp and decided to try it. WHAT A GREAT FIND!!!!! Everything was hot and delicious. Each course was as good as the one before it. We started with crab rangoon, 8 pieces for $4.50. It was awesome. Next course was egg drop soup which was so hot and yummy. For the entree 2 of us had sesame tofu and 1 had shrimp in lobster sauce. We all ate ourselves silly and still had doggie bags with PLENTY for another meal. Finally we had "fried milk". It was so delicate and delicious. Ocean Garden Kitchen is a family owned establishment and they couldn't be more gracious and friendly. It will absolutely be our Chinese go-to from now on!!! read more

Every single time I have gone here I have never once been disappointed! All of my order is always in there (for five people) including all the extra things! The customer service I have recieved from the employees is above and beyond. Always so sweet and welcoming! Today I actually called at 8 to see what time they closed and they closed at 8 but they told me to not worry about it and still continued to take my order for me! Not many places will do this and it was very much appreciated as it was time for them to go home! (I took care of them too of course!) 10/10 the best place to get your chinese food! I live 15/20 minutes and pass theee other places to get there & wouldn't have it any other way! Amazing! read more

Just finished my dinner and the first time I was here at Ocean Garden and all's I have to say is wow.. had pork with garlic sauce and I asked them to kick it up a notch on the spice and it was perfect great flavor reminds me of Chinatown in New York.. finally a Chinese restaurant locally that rivals the best Chinese restaurants in New York.. not only that apparently if you call ahead and give 24 hours notice they will do some specialty things for you.. example I asked him snails in blackbean sauce and he told me give them 24 hours notice.. I can't wait read more

Wow! This is one of the best restaurants across the board. Welcoming, bright, prompt service with clear descriptions of menu choices. We ordered the 2 person special of the night, starting with soup. Large bowl, hot broth and well prepared soup came out of the kitchen. Followed perfectly prepared egg rolls. Lastly was the main course gen tso and chicken and broccoli. Large portions well presented and plenty to take home. Next visit we will go off the traditional "take out" food and explore the exciting options. Good job by brother and sister team!!! read more

I am always an avid fan of good Chinese food whether fusion or authentic and we just happened to spot this place right off of Rt 9 headed north.. Well, we pulled the trigger and decided on the Ocean Garden albeit being a newer place; we enjoyed the ambiance and cleanliness of it all. From the appetizer of fried crab and cheese wontons.. To the main courses (mine) Honey Chicken with pork fried rice (hers) Sesame Chicken with pork friend rice to the Hong Kong wonton soup... Simply put... Amazing.. Great portions and quality is above par. The waitresses and even the kitchen staff were around and about and very alternative. Lastly, Prices are just right... Will be back for more.. read more

The food is tasty, but every dish is the same ingredients with just a different sauce. My Szechuan chicken had the same veggies as my Dads beef with Chinese vegetables and my wife's steamed chicken and vegetables - flat, ridged carrots, broccoli, green pepper and onions. Not a single hot pepper in my Szechuan!? This is as "Americanized" as Chinese food gets. read more
