As soon as you walk through the doors of this plaza-hidden eatery you will receive a friendly welcome .... and then you will notice the bright clean welcoming interior! Uh, notice the welcoming well your entrance is just the beginning of a welcoming meal with outstanding service and delicious food. On this night we brought our 90 year old guest who was curious about her first adventure with dim sum. And, she left with a smile on her face! Actually smiles are evident throughout and the flavors are wonderful. Frankly, we have missed that side of the restaurant because it's been our habit to get take out but perhaps it's worth sitting in just to leave with a smile.

A dim sum restaurant that serves actual dim sum all day is quite a rarity, so I had to check it out! They're located in the Smithville Square shopping center of Galloway with lots of parking. On a Friday night, they were quite busy which is a good sign & I heard from other patrons that they'll be back! There's a good amount of seating with waiter service & it's BYOB. The ambiance is very casual with decor of cute stuffed dumplings here & there. There's a decent selection of dim sum, but not as much variety as what you'd get from a restaurant that serves dim sum on weekends for brunch so keep that in mind if you're an experienced dim sum diner. The majority of the menu were standard Chinese entree items with chicken, pork, beef or shrimp as your protein in a general tso's sauce or salt & pepper seasoning. Nothing special or unique, but the items we had were tasty. We got the pork shumai, salt & pepper calamari, Shanghai soup dumplings, bbq boneless pork, & bbq pork buns with some nice oolong tea.

Great authentic Asian cuisine. BYOB. Portion sizes are large and flavorful. We ordered the pork and chive dumplings fried, Mongolian beef, and general Tso chicken. Everything was fresh and hot when delivered. Service was great. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. Plenty of seating available. This establishment is BYOB with a beverage store across the parking lot from them.

We heard about this restaurant thru an LBI FB post. The author said they drive from LBI to Galloway when they want good Chinese food. Being there is no good Chinese food food in this area my family took me on Friday for my birthday. It was beyond our expectations. There were 7 of us. We began with the steamed wontons, lettuce wrapped chicken, bao buns and everything was amazing. For dinner we shared the shrimp with walnuts, General Taos shrimp, chicken with peanuts, Wide noodles with pork and a sweet and sour chicken. If you like Chinese food run don't walk. The food was delicious. our server whose name I wish I would have gotten was so sweet. FYI, it's a bring your own.

Excellent food and service. Without a doubt the best Chinese food in the area. The Beef Chow Fun is tasty with what is referred to as "wok he". The lobster is just the best.

My wife and I got takeout here for the first time this week. We've never dined in so this was our first experience with this shop. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Shrimp and the Pork Dumplings. Shrimp was delicious and perfectly prepared. Dumplings did not have much flavor, but the textures and dipping sauce was nice. The staff here is VERY nice and you can tell they care about the food they serve. My only ding is cost..... Salt and Pepper Shrimp was $23 for 12 shrimp. That's almost $2 per shrimp folks. Dumplings were $10 for 8 which is a bit pricey given the lack of flavor. If your light of coin as we are, this is a place we can only splurge on a few times per year. That being said, this is a wonderful, locally owned shop and they certainly deserve your business.

This is the smug owner right here! BEWARE!

Place is horrible! Owner Michael is so vile and disgusting to customers. If you have a food allergy beware of going here! We ordered our entire meal to be gluten free and they didn't prepare as such. When we asked a few questions after realizing, he said, "you didn't die did you"? Can you imagine such arrogance of a business owner to actually say that to a customer? Just imagine if you're treated like that to your face what they do when you're not looking? Consumer beware! He said he didn't care about bad customers leaving bad feedback. I guess he doesn't care about losing $ or business.

Ok I'm in love too! My mom clearly loves this place as she's been here once a week since it's opening! They know her by name and her favorite dish! Btw my initial review of this went to the other one and I unfortunately couldn't change it! Came here again for lunch today with my mom. Boy was I pleasantly surprised that they had dim sum literally in carts today!!! I believe that they do this for the weekend ... officially serving all your favorites! Loved it!!! My mom had us try their specialty seafood sui mai! WOW just wow! Sooooo flavorful I could taste the crab, shrimp and calamari!!! Yum You need to come here for some great authentic dim sum away from the busy city but yet the same satisfying stuff your face experience til you can't eat one more bite - but of course you continue to eat MORE!

Mongolian Beef (Incredible taste and aroma)

Since relocating from North Jersey, I've missed the authentic Chinese dim sum and beef chow fun that was readily available in New York's Chinatown. What a pleasant surprise when I came upon Dim Sum and Then Some. Their dumplings, dim sum, and beef chow fun exceed what I was getting in New York. Their wontons are the best! The skin is thin and the filling is stuffed with pork and shrimp. My wife ordered the Walnut shrimp entree and it was delicious. The size and quantity of the shrimp was incredible. This is much more than our recent Shrimp Scampi dish from a local Italian restaurant. We also ordered the Mongolian Beef which was spectacular. It was served on a sizzling platter and my mouth started to water just from the aroma. The staff is ultra-friendly and the dining room is clean. I highly recommend DIM SOME AND THEN SOME!!

They provide you with a thorough menu with pictures and you mark which options you'd like. The service is speedy and friendly. Thee staff is fast about removing and bringing plates. The restaurant is rather small/tight, so depending on when you come, you may need to wait a little bit or eat at the bar. This place is a straight-up dim sum and dumpling situation, and it delivers hard. We ordered way too much food, which I maintain was the correct decision. The spread: house special roast pork bun (pillowy, porky, perfect), pan-fried dumplings (crispy bottoms, juicy inside -- the way it should be), soup dumplings (golden, delicate, dangerous if you're impatient), scallion pancakes (flaky, savory, we did not share these equally), spring rolls (classic, crispy, no notes), and honestly some other stuff I've already forgotten because by that point we were deep in a dim sum fugue state. We finished almost all of it. Almost. We tried. And the price? An absolute steal. The kind of meal where you check the bill twice because you're sure something's missing. If you're in Philly and you want dumplings done right in a no-fuss spot that punches way above its weight, Nom Wah is the answer.

All that would be fine if you don't miss the old ladies with their pushcarts hawking their goodies at your table. I sort of did miss them as they are what I remember most fondly about those enormous meals around a large round table with family and friends that I enjoyed growing up. But, this is certainly not that, and therein lies the difference of having a totally enjoyable experience vs a fast food version without any cultural entertainment value. Without that, the food was just not as tasty and fun. The Xiao Long Bao skin was too thick and chewy, although the pork infused hot soup within was decent. Similarly, the sui mai and shrimp dumplings had better texture outside, but tiny shrimp within. The glutinous rice rolls had a pleasant light soy sauce and right textured wrap, but small shrimp in both size and number. The best we had was the potato croquette (crunchy outside, hot and grated tato within). The room was all blond wood and large traditional Chinese kitchen mural on the wall. Service was efficient. Prices were about right given the recent restaurant inflation. For my three stars I would rather return to the enrapture of the old ladies and their carts.

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and had no trouble getting a table, which was a plus. We ordered the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice, Singapore rice noodles, steamed pork soup dumplings, and sliced beef with scallion. The sticky rice was decent but a bit bland. The soup dumplings were noticeably larger than usual, which I appreciated, but the wrappers were thicker and doughier than what I'm used to, and the flavor didn't quite deliver. The Singapore noodles and beef dish were solid--nothing standout, but reliable--and it was a nice touch that the beef came with rice included, which many places charge extra for. Service was on the less attentive side, and overall there wasn't anything that really stood out as memorable. Plenty of seating to accommodate larger groups bu I'd give it 3 stars--mainly because, being in Chinatown, I expected something a bit more authentic. That said, the food is good enough and the portion-to-price ratio is fair, so I can see why others might enjoy it.
