Yelpers - I come here at least once every two months. More frequently when dim sum in the carts is back in service. And their congee is what my taste buds have followed from many many many moons ago where I started enjoying it in the US after having it in HK. Where you ask? Full dim sum weekends at the Crown Palace locations in Middletown and Marlboro. Then I found it at Ocean at their Asian restaurant. I discovered the Leung brothers in Ventnor and have religiously followed them and their exquisite palate ever since. While I'm sad to know that Andrew has left the area, his brother Michael is keeping it real. Fighting the good fiscal fight but do do do do come and try all the options. Their food; their hospitality and their human and generous goodness is a blessing to this South Jersey community. The location near Smithville has easy, free parking. The place is air conditioned and its decor is industrial and rustic. Ok I'm no stylist. So sue me if it's not the correct fashion term or architectural comment. You are coming for the food, right?!!! Was in Galloway for a continuing education course and passed by this place hoping for tasty authentic Cantonese food during my lunch break. Waitresses were nice. Ordered turnip cake which tasted authentic, however the Shumai was undercooked. Wonton soup was good though, nice touch with the crispy onions. Ambience could be better. read more

The food was pretty mediocre- nothing terrible, but definitely nothing I'd rush back for . The one bright spot was the wait staff, our server was absolutely lovely & friendly. Unfortunately, there was an issue with fruit flies during the meal, which made things less appetizing . But the real deal-breaker was hearing the owner/ manager YELLING at the staff. At one point he actually said " You need to stop working like an American and start working like a foreigner ". Talk about being disrespectful. It was uncomfortable and honestly, it ruined what could have been a decent night out. No one should be spoken to that way. As soon as you walk through the doors of this plaza-hidden eatery you will receive a friendly welcome .... and then you will notice the bright clean welcoming interior! Uh, notice the welcoming well your entrance is just the beginning of a welcoming meal with outstanding service and delicious food. On this night we brought our 90 year old guest who was curious about her first adventure with dim sum. And, she left with a smile on her face! Actually smiles are evident throughout and the flavors are wonderful. A dim sum restaurant that serves actual dim sum all day is quite a rarity, so I had to check it out! They're located in the Smithville Square shopping center of Galloway with lots of parking. On a Friday night, they were quite busy which is a good sign & I heard from other patrons that they'll be back! There's a good amount of seating with waiter service & it's BYOB. The ambiance is very casual with decor of cute stuffed dumplings here & there. There's a decent selection of dim sum, but not as much variety as what you'd get from a restaurant that serves dim sum on weekends for brunch so keep that in mind if you're an experienced dim sum diner. The majority of the menu were standard Chinese entree items with chicken, pork, beef or shrimp as your protein in a general tso's sauce or salt & pepper seasoning. We heard about this restaurant thru an LBI FB post. The author said they drive from LBI to Galloway when they want good Chinese food. Being there is no good Chinese food food in this area my family took me on Friday for my birthday. It was beyond our expectations. There were 7 of us. We began with the steamed wontons, lettuce wrapped chicken, bao buns and everything was amazing. For dinner we shared the shrimp with walnuts, General Taos shrimp, chicken with peanuts, Wide noodles with pork and a sweet and sour chicken. If you like Chinese food run don't walk. My wife and I got takeout here for the first time this week. We've never dined in so this was our first experience with this shop. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Shrimp and the Pork Dumplings. Shrimp was delicious and perfectly prepared. Dumplings did not have much flavor, but the textures and dipping sauce was nice. The staff here is VERY nice and you can tell they care about the food they serve. My only ding is cost..... Salt and Pepper Shrimp was $23 for 12 shrimp. That's almost $2 per shrimp folks. Dumplings were $10 for 8 which is a bit pricey given the lack of flavor. If your light of coin as we are, this is a place we can only splurge on a few times per year. That being said, this is a wonderful, locally owned shop and they certainly deserve your business. read more

After really craving some wonton noodle soup last night, I went ahead and ordered take out from here. They have a decent menu with some staple dishes both dim sum and entrees. I ordered the pork dumpling egg noodle soup with wontons and an order of pork shumai. Let's break it down. Noodle soup: -Noodles were al dente - pork dumpling was really filled but the wrapper was thick and gummy, not great. - wonton was just average, same as ones you can get in the frozen isle of the Chinese market. This was a $4 up charge, I'd skip -soup, also average and taste like store bought soup packets Pork Shumai: -wrapper was thin and had good texture -filling had a decent amount of meat -flavor was savory but not memorable The entire meal was decent and I would order here again if I was desperate for dim sum. However, charging $13.50 for 4 shumai is almost criminal. I have had similar size shumai at various places and the most they charge is $7. Inflation I get it, but the quality of food isn't enough to justify the price. read more

Btw my initial review of this went to the other one and I unfortunately couldn't change it! Came here again for lunch today with my mom. Boy was I pleasantly surprised that they had dim sum literally in carts today!!! I believe that they do this for the weekend ... officially serving all your favorites! Loved it!!! Place is horrible! Owner Michael is so vile and disgusting to customers. If you have a food allergy beware of going here! We ordered our entire meal to be gluten free and they didn't prepare as such. When we asked a few questions after realizing, he said, "you didn't die did you"? Can you imagine such arrogance of a business owner to actually say that to a customer? Since relocating from North Jersey, I've missed the authentic Chinese dim sum and beef chow fun that was readily available in New York's Chinatown. What a pleasant surprise when I came upon Dim Sum and Then Some. Their dumplings, dim sum, and beef chow fun exceed what I was getting in New York. Their wontons are the best! The skin is thin and the filling is stuffed with pork and shrimp. My wife ordered the Walnut shrimp entree and it was delicious. The size and quantity of the shrimp was incredible. This is much more than our recent Shrimp Scampi dish from a local Italian restaurant. We also ordered the Mongolian Beef which was spectacular. It was served on a sizzling platter and my mouth started to water just from the aroma. The staff is ultra-friendly and the dining room is clean. I highly recommend DIM SOME AND THEN SOME!! read more

I randomly looked up dumplings in my area, and saw the menu for this place and was really impressed by it. The next night I made my husband drive from EHT to go get some. I haven't had Chinese food since I was a teen because 1.) the healthier options are always limited and bland and 2.) a lot of the Chinese food places in my area are all hella mids, IMO. These are the dumplings of my dreams. Holy wow. They're perfect. They're SO pretty, they're stuffed, and they're REALLY filling. I also go some steamed veggies which is cool because they're sautéed, not plain steamed/veggies you could get at shoprite. I wish I had known how big and thick they were because I ate 3 or 4 of them and I was stuffed by the time I got to my veggies (which was also a legit banger). Next time I will most definitely get an order of dumplings for my meal (probably two because I can't help myself). I really appreciate the fact that they have wheat-gluten-free options (rice causes inflammation too, but I will inflame myself for this place like a million times over if it means I get to eat their dumplings.) The price of the food is also great because I'm in my 20's and broke. The guy on the phone was SUPER DUPER nice, and my husband said he was really really nice when he went to go pick it up which I appreciate because I did call an hour before they closed which sometimes makes people upset. The inside looks really nice too! It looks like a cool date spot--not over the top fancy, but still fancy enough where it's a nice sit down. I'm going to make a series of bad financial decisions for the next month and keep coming back, and if you're reading this you should too because this is fire. When this place first opened, the food was very good, our usual was crab Rangoons and general Tso chicken. Crab Rangoons had generous amount of imitation crab meat shredded in it. However recently we ordered take out and we are disappointed. Crab Rangoons barely had any filling, mostly hollow and soggy wonton for $7.50. Lo mein was good, but the bottom of the rice cooker burnt rice isn't appealing. You'd think they'd care about what their customers see when they first open their order. read more

Highly recommend Dim Sum & Then Some! Second time here and on both occasions we enjoyed delicious, authentic Chinese food, that is clearly made with care and fresh ingredients. Our servers both times were attentive, helpful and personable. The very nice owner came by to make sure we were enjoying everything. We had the amazing Peking Duck (what a treat!), variety of dumplings (a must try), bok choy and wonton/egg drop soup. Truly outstanding dishes and everyone at our table raved about the food. FYI it is hard to find Peking Duck because it takes alot to prepare and this PD was fabulous! I've had it in Beijing where it originated and this is even better! However, the place was nicely laid out, very clean with a friendly and attentive staff, so I reserved judgement. Having grown up a few blocks from Chinatown in Manhattan, I consider myself somewhat of a maven when it comes to Chinese food, especially Dim Sum. I am so impressed with the meals I had there that I am making a special effort to create an account on Yelp to make sure I mention how much I enjoyed the food and service and give the restaurant the credibility it deserves. Every dim sum and main dish I had was just perfect. Special mention for the "Salt and Pepper Shrimp", "Singapore Mai Fun" and the "Eggplant Chicken". I am partial to these dishes. I don't normally walk out of a Chinese restaurant without ordering at least one of them, but, this time I shared in all three. And the efficiency of the serving staff was impressive enough to warrant a generous tip from me.
