We tried this place based off of yelp reviews. We were all very happy with our choices. My MIL had a delicious burger. It was good sized, and perfectly seasoned. It was cooked well. All of us tried it and it were impressed! My husband had a chicken wrap and fries. I was prepared well and he really enjoyed it. I had the tabouleh appetizer with deconstructed guacamole and I enjoyed every bite! We would definitely return the next time we're in the area. read more

I'm giving this place 3.5 stars. Food is great but I'm reducing the stars for service. I came here for brunch during the weekend and could not figure out whether we had to be seated by a host or seated ourselves. A few minutes later, one of the waitresses noticed us and told us we can sit anywhere. I faced a similar inattentiveness later on when waiting on the check. I waited close to half hour before finally just going up to the kitchen area and asking for the check. On the positive side, food was great! I loved the French toast and eggs and potatoes and liked how they have a decent amount of vegetarian options as well. Had lunch recently with a friend 1st time in a long time. Elixirs are mostly called flavored lemonade now but still yum, drinks & sandwiches were very tasty. This is my second time coming here and this place remains my favorite breakfast/brunch place around here. There is nothing like this place here in AC/South Jersey area! I'm no falafel expert, but boy oh boy, their falafel makes me wanna forget I'm a carnivore! I had the schwafel (because yes, i have to have grilled chicken haha!), The portion was large and it came with homemade potato chips, absolutely scrumptious. My Bebu ordered the Seoul burger (has korean pork bbq over the patty) which also came with the chips. I forgot to mention the sweet and spicy Thai chicken wings that we had as an "appetizer" but the portion was actually meal sized. Overall, i love coming to this place. This place used to be good but honestly the more I keep trying to like it the worse things seem to become. It's a shame because the menu seems really inventive and the staff is usually nice. I ordered the charred pineapple BLT with extra pineapple and it only came with two pretty skimpy pieces of pineapple on each half. I asked the server for extra pineapple again when she checked on me and she told me (kind of shortly) that there was already extra pineapple on it. I legitimately opened the sandwich and left the pineapple showing so she might see and understand that there wasn't that much on it. So I asked if I could possibly get another "side" of pineapple since there still wasn't much. Then she brought me out that ridiculous piece of pineapple with the core in it and it almost made me laugh. Honestly the fact that they served that to me is the main reason I'm here writing this review. I'm not looking for free food - I would've gladly paid a few dollars for the additional topping if that were the issue. But I feel like they were being a bit ridiculous with the serving in the photos. Haven't been here in 3 years but I'm so glad I came back! Their elixirs are delicious. I've had their Coconut Hibiscus and Cactus Pear and both were awesome. They're gingery and sweet. For dinner, we started with the BBQ Potato Skins topped with cashew sauce. They were pretty good. I enjoyed the sweetness from the BBQ and the cashew sauce was creamy. My brother and I shared The Portobello sandwich & Tso's Cauliflower. The Portobello was pretty good. We really loved the sweet potato fries that came with it. The sandwich needed a sauce or something. The Tso's cauliflower was fresh & sweet. I enjoyed the tangy sauce that came with it. The cauliflower's breading was very soft and tasty. For dessert, I had the banana peanut butter Oreo pie. It. Was. So. Good. Very rich, not too peanuty, and the Oreo crust was to die for. I can't believe they had so many vegan options! I stopped in today for lunch with a friend. She's been here multiple times with her son and raves about it so much that I just HAD to come in with her and try it out. I ordered their lavender lemonade and had their grilled pineapple BLT on ciabatta bread served with their homemade chips. Everything was AMAZING! Fresh ingredients, tasty flavors, and there is definitely something for everyone. I was impressed not only with their menu and food quality but also their service. You can tell that employees are meant to work as a team here. They're constantly circulating the dining area making sure that tables are busted, credit cards are run, and that customers are happy. I've passed by this place numerous times while driving, and finally decided to stop in. The menu surprised me with the options available, but this just brought out my adventurous and experimental side. Lavender lemonade? Tofu marsala? Blackened mahi soft tacos? The Specials board was full of even more peculiar but inventive dishes, and it almost overloaded my more adventurous connoisseur side. I had a lot of fun with the dishes, with some leftovers to spare and bring home. More taste testing to do in the future with this place, perhaps with a friend or two next time - I'm sure anyone could find something good here that fits their foodie lifestyle choices. read more

Visited: Friday - June 24, 2016 - 7:30 PM The Spot is located in the Tilton Shopping Center and features vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Today, my inner vegetarian yearned fulfillment. My lady friend asked for a sample of the mango lemonade. The server indicated that the lemonade was made in small batches and sampling wasn't permitted. Regardless, I ordered the mango lemonade. My lady friend ordered an unsweetened ice tea. The mango lemonade arrived in a 24 oz mason jar; a sampling would not have been an inconvenience. Then again, for $5.00, it was resonably priced. The mango lemonade was pleasant tasting and refreshing. I ordered a cup of Mushroom Barley soup ( $ 3.50 ) and the Wilted Salad: Wilted arugula, roasted pepper, garlic & oil with tomato, Bugarian sheep's feta cheese, pickled cucumber, red onion, quinoa, and "birdseed" ( the server indicated that there were three "birdseed" ingredients; she recalled two - flax and chia seeds ). The salad was served with a sour cherry lavender vinaigrette. $15.00 My lady friend ordered the Mahi Flacos (3 fried corn tortillas topped with cheddar cheese, black beans, blackened mahi, & pico de gallo). $11.00 While we waited for our food, pre-recorded Delta blues softly played. I don't know about you, but if I start off with a bad cup of coffee, my expectations for the meal goes up a notch just to make up for it. I mulled over the menu and finally decided on an easy-you-can't-mess-up dish: sausage, peppers, provolone omelette. I've read many comments stating how fresh the ingredients were, was I at the correct place? 'Cause my green peppers looked about a few days old and a little too oxidized. The homefries were not terrible, yet not appetizing either. I may have eaten a few pieces of eggshell, I'm not sureeeeeeeeee. Overall it was a bland dish. So the next time you think, "they can't mess up this dish," best you take the advice of my friend-- "you'd be surprised..." My friend had the Crunchy French toast? The server told us it's actually a Captain Crunch cereal coating so it comes out green (refer to the photo). Although I did not have a taste, my friend did not seem to enjoy it...when someone uses "interesting" in an alternating high and low pitched voice to describe it, you already know. On a positive note, it's cheap to eat here. It wasn't a horrible experience, it's just that I've had (way) better in the area. When I asked about the drinks, it took too long to describe them, so I asked "Which one is your favorite?" and made my decision. Also, I waited almost 15 minutes after I was finished (it's not cool when I can see into the kitchen and see servers on a cell phone) my meal for the server to come to our table and: 1) didn't ask us if we wanted any dessert (which we did) 2) I asked for a takeout of the soup and she just ran off to put the order in (so I missed my chance of the dessert takeout I wanted to do) 3) when she came back, I asked her for a box to take the rest of my food home and before I was able to ask for dessert, yes, you guessed it, she ran off again 4) when she came back with our boxes, I asked for a check. + Some areas of the walls could use more decoration. Although we loved how the place looked inside, we would've liked to see more creativity throughout. More eye candy to keep us busy while we wait for food / servers. I must admit I wasn't thrilled to go to Mays Landing for a visit with family, mostly because Mays Landing isn't known for amazing cuisine. That won't stop me from trying to find one though. Let's start with the good stuff. The one thing that caught my eye was the banana stuffed challah french toast. This was the most delicious dish I tried in Jersey so far. Definite must try!!! I think it's deep fried for a bit..cuz it's got a nice crunch. The sweet bananas and sticky sauce make this combo a perfect start to any day! I ordered my son pancakes with bananas. Another good one, but not nearly has sexy as banana stuffed challah french toast, my holy grail! They've also got some truly unique drinks that come in mason jars. You can pay a bit more to take them home as a to go drink. I personally didn't try any because I was sick. Naturally, I ordered some hot water and added honey and to soothe my sore throat. My two children also had a cough, thus I ordered two more hot waters. However, for some crazy reason, they charged me as ordering three teas! I guess hot water and a bit of honey costs $6????!!!! I always order hot water at restaurants, purely because I think it helps digest fatty foods. Never in my life, have I ever been charged for my hot waters!!! That alone was a big turn off for me. I had to take off a star for that. The next star had to be removed because I also ordered a scallop dish that costs a whopping 16.00 for 3 measly scallops that tasted a bit old. Lesson learned. Don't go to an obvious breakfast lunch cafe and order scallops! Service was good. Our waitress was bouncing off walls trying to keep everyone happy and served. She was so nice that I just couldn't complain about being charged for tea when I never got any, not my bad scallops. Maybe if she wasn't sweet, I could be honest? read more

5 star on menu and food- 4 star just because it's tight quarters and the seating isn't the best. This restaurant has the biggest range of fresh food options that are healthy and delicious. The area needs more places like this, I do not know how I did not discover this place sooner, but I will be here much more often now that I've tried it.
