This was my first time going to SolFood Kitchen. I was impressed the moment I walked in. Very friendly staff. I met a friend who is a loyal customer so much so that our server knew her by name. Our server Sara was awesome! She knew the menu very well and told us what the dinner special was. I love the atmosphere, beautiful tropical flowers everywhere and candles on each table. They do have outdoor seating, a little table in front and a beautiful courtyard in the back. I ordered the Greek salad with salmon. It was fantastic, and so was my adult beverage (tea Tyme). I have a milk and gluten allergy. I am accustomed to limited options, being disappointed, and risking an allergic reaction when eating out. So, I was unexpectedly blown away by how delicious the food was. I had the Banh Mi Sandwich with chicken. The food was fresh with quality ingredients, bursting with flavor AND I didn't feel sick after eating there. Win! Win! Win! I loved the bun. It was soft and I couldn't even tell it was gluten-free. It was nice not to have to sacrifice flavor for safe food. I will definitely be eating here again the next time I'm in Augusta. The inside was so cute . Recommend 100%. The food vegan and vegetarian options. The flavor was there for the tacos. The soup needed something it just tasted really strong of curry. I didn't have a picture of the drinks but they were a good balance between strong and juice. It's more on the floral side for sure. Amazing new restaurant in Surry Center. A healthy take on fine dining, the restaurant offers regular, vegetarian and vegan options. We opted for 3 small plates and one large plate. The Kimchi Pimento Cheese was a great start and had just a hint of Kimchi which paired great with the Cranberry Ginger Sparkler. Next was the highlight for me, the King Oyster "Scallops". This is the essence of a great vegan dish... I think I liked it better than the real thing! Last of the small plates were the Veggie Empanadas. A wonderful flakey crust with all vegetarian ingredients. Finally , we had the Apple Cider Chicken. Chicken was juicy, vegetables on point, and the apple cider sauce wasn't too sweet. I love the harissa cauliflower dish. It's spicy and flavorful and filling without being heavy. There's even organic wine on the menu.

There's nothing wrong with the food. Nothing to write home about but, I find it leaves a sour taste in my mouth when two rice bowls (with chicken and veg) and two sodas cost $60 and don't fill me up. Still hungry after the meal and that's not acceptable for what they charge for such simple food. The place comes off as a farm to table sort of spot but no mention of where their meat comes from on the menu to my knowledge. Update: in response to the owner. Thank you for the reply. I will update the review to include an additional star. The soda was lemonade with soda water. The portion sizes are egregious for the price however. I think I just found one of my new favorite places to eat simply because of its menu options that I have not seen anywhere else. I saw the menu and instantly fell in love. Where else could I possibly get butternut squash lasagna? I ordered it to go, but enjoyed waiting on the cozy couch while relaxing in the charmingly decorated restaurant. It felt like sitting in someone's artsy and spacious living room. When I got home to eat the lasagna in my own living room, I was impressed with each bite. For so many reasons I'd like to give them 5 stars but I just can't: read through, try them, and make your own decision. On a road trip and heading toward Augusta for a baseball game I yelped and found 3 restaurants that looked good, one of which offered bread pudding (Solfood). My husband took us to a different one of the three where we split a sandwich. Since we then had time to kill before the game we headed toward Solfood for the bread pudding and possibly a few vegetarian small plates to eat later at the ballpark. Upon entering I was greeted by the friendliest bartender. We chatted and I picked 2 small plates and the bread pudding, I was undecided about a 3rd which he encouraged me to get. While I waited what seemed to be a REALLY long time for my food (I guess slow food is always better than fast food) I signed the bill leaving a quite generous tip (in part because the guy was nice and in part because throughout the pandemic I've been overly generous). When the food finally came out they had forgotten the bread pudding (what I told him I came in for). He said he hadn't charged me for it- I didn't take a good look at the bill so I can't swear that he hadn't charged me for it- but would issue a new bill and it would come out in about 10-15 minutes. Should the bread pudding have been comped? Considering additional wait time to an already long wait & considering the overly generous tip. The food quality was really fantastic. Sweet potato and bean empanadas were moist and delicious. The salmon patty sliders were substantial and tasty. The plantain tacos were flavorful and filled with a true taste sensation. All of the food was seriously great. The worst thing was the bread pudding. I received a small slice from the end of the pan; it was overdone, dry, not sweet, and actually rather tasteless. Lastly, they were able to change my bill without my presence (I'd gone into the restroom), without having my card, etc. it gives cause to be concerned that they can alter the signed bills. I just read through all of the reviews and did take notice that the owner does not take the time to respond to any of the reviews. It would be nice to hear back regarding the question of comped bread pudding. read more

The food here at Sol was absolutely wonderful. My sister and I popped in here for an early dinner and ended up pleasantly surprised. However some other aspects are causing me to drop some stars. We had a recommendation from a friend of mine and we pulled up two seats at the bar, and ordered some drinks and dinner. My main complaint is that the bartender pretty much ignored us during the spouts that we needed him for what seemed like a personal friend that was sitting at the bar. And that was really annoying when I wanted a refill and my sister didn't even get her drink. The bar only had three tabs, mine, the girl he was talking to, and one other couple at the end of the bar. And al I constantly heard was him talking about Snapchat for 15 minutes straight when I was trying to get his attention to place our order. Next time if I end up here in Augusta again, I'm not likely to sit at the bar and will opt for a table to hope that service would be better. I had the Shepherds Pie, it was more than enough food with the absolute best mashed potato overlay I've ever had. They were blended with horseradish and seasoned with cinnamon that made everything come alive within the dish. My girlfriend had the Dill smoked turkey sandwich and dill potato salad. Which was only described as the best turkey sandwich and potato salad she'd ever had. The bartender and manager were so polite and knowledgeable about the area of Augusta and gave us attractions in the area and even other restaurants that should be tried. Five stars just isn't good enough for SolFood - I wish I could give them more! The food was absolutely delicious. My wife had the Bibimbap with chicken and I had the curry bowl with tofu. They were both fantastic. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the sauces were really unique. The restaurant itself is also very open and has a really chill ambiance. I felt incredibly so so about this place. There was nothing that really made me want to come back. The menu was very small and nothing really seemed to hit home for me with the options. Tried the steak with potato medallions; it was alright. Tried the turkey sandwich; okay cool.
