Steak frites and eggs - fries not pictured.

Stopped in for brunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! The cinnamon snail was outrageous- definitely big enough to share. I got the steak frites and eggs. The steak was really good quality and perfectly medium rare. My boyfriend ordered the ricotta scramble, which was creamy and came with prosciutto and toast. We also got a Passionfruit Bellini and that was dangerously good. We sat in the outside area and it was really nice. Our server was great, no complaints.

    Branzino, dry age steak.

I went once for the burger and brunch, but this time, i went back for dinner. My goodness. The staff, phenomenal (although we were pretty giddy from the start). When we ordered our second round of Razor clams, the chef brought them out on a platter to show his gratitude. I cannot recommend the taste and vibe here more.

Tried and failed to get in here once before, but this time we arrived right when they opened at 5 PM on a Friday and there was no wait. Sat outside and ordered: + Dirty gin martini + Mezcal martini + Chips and ham + Caesar salad + Sweet corn agnolotti + double cheeseburger + Sticky toffee date cake with malt ice cream The burger and dessert were my favorites, followed by the pasta and chips and ham. The caesar was good but a little too salty. Drinks were decent, not amazing. Will be back for the burger and desserts! 4.5 stars.

TLDR: we FINALLY got a walk in on a Wednesday at 5:45pm. I heard another two party say the same thing. The food is between a 3.5/4 depending on what you order but all you NEED to try here is the double cheeseburger and fries. SETTING: we live 10 mins walking distance away and have called at least 5x since opening to ask about the walk in situation (once even trying to stop by). Every single time the answer was either "the waitlist has closed for the day" (even when calling at 5:15), or "there is a two hour + wait but no guarantee we can get you in regardless". The hype around this place was REAL. Finally got a walk in at the bar (though they also had tables) on a summer Wednesday. The restaurant itself is pretty nondescript- modern, pretty tightly packed tables, filled with people and busy. Good for any kind of meal. FOOD: we ordered the oysters ($48 for 12), the burrata with peach vinaigrette, the black bass crudo, the double cheeseburger and agnolotti with summer corn, and a side of fries. None was memorable other than the peach vinaigrette which was super fresh, packed with flavor and a great compliment to the tomatoes and burrata and the cheeseburger/fries. Everything else you can live without/nothing to really write home about. We were in and out in under 90 minutes. It was only when uploading pics for this review that I even remembered we also had the tuna cracker which was forgettable. We might have just ordered the wrong things as I saw the ceasar which looked great and the chips and ham. SERVICE: the service was great but a bit disjointed. As other reviews mention, they run the food whenever it's ready meaning we got the black bass crudo and burrata before the oysters, then the fries before the burger. The staff is very nice and attentive always refilling water and clearing your space. VERDICT: I really can't believe people used to wait in line for hours just to get into this restaurant. It is definitely a solid addition to the neighborhood, with fresh seafood options but they're not exactly blowing you away with creativity or flavor. Though it was a good meal, for $250 (not including tip), I likely won't need to be back.... Other than when I'm craving a burger that isn't from 7th Street.

    Carajillo Martini and cocktail

Chic spot with great cocktails, wine, and a standout burger Visited The Snail in Williamsburg with a friend, which is not far from the the Nassau Ave G stop and near the northwest side of McCarren Park. They don't take reservations, so we arrived a little before 6pm and had about a 15-minute wait. While waiting, we ordered cocktails--the Carajillo Martini (small but delicious) and one of the fruitier Vodka options. The space has a modern, stylish vibe with a comfortable, slightly upscale feel. It wasn't overly loud, though the tables are fairly close together. We ended up getting seated at the bar, which is quite large with high, comfortable chairs--honestly a great spot to dine. We started with the escargot (excellent) and both had the burger and fries. I also had one of the chilled red wines with dinner--there's a nicely curated wine list, and the bartender was helpful in making a great selection. The burger was outstanding--juicy, flavorful, and very filling. The table next to us ordered the Caesar salad and a dessert, both of which looked great, so I'd love to go back and try more of the menu. Not the cheapest dinner, but definitely worth it for a well-executed meal and a cozy, stylish atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive throughout.

Fabulous food and exquisite cocktails living up to all the recent social media buzz. I highly recommend the burger and any pasta. Overall a great dining experience made possible by their entire staff. A must visit if you're in the area. We got super lucky Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm walked right in zero wait compared to just a week prior having been informed at least 2hr wait.

Walked in on a Sunday evening around 9:30pm and was able to get a table in a few minutes! It was a nice outdoor set up with the windows within the restaurant opened as well. Steak frites, morels pasta were delicious and we had a strawberry and creme dessert. They have an expansive wine menu as well. Although a bit pricier on the $90/pp side (2 drinks per person), we enjoyed our Sunday summer evening dinner at The Snail.

    Steak and eggs

Here's a polished review you can use: I recently dined at The Snail and had a really great experience overall. The steak and eggs were absolutely fantastic--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Caesar salad was also a standout, fresh and well-balanced with just the right amount of dressing. The atmosphere and service made it a spot I'll definitely be coming back to. If I had one critique, it would be that the French fries came out a bit cold, almost like they weren't freshly made. Also, I'd love to see escargot available to order at all hours of the day--it feels like a must-have staple for a place like this. Overall, a great meal and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

LISTEENNNN FOLKS. Hate to do it, not feeling this one. Not BAD, but NOT LONG WAIT WORTHY. The staff is awesome, literally so friendly. Great atmosphere, could definitely knock back a few martinis or unreal Root Beers (yeah I said root beers). But the food, quality, fine, but left me wanting more. Maybe I'll go back, unlikely. But you should give it a shot.

I have been so excited to try the snail, and finally had the opportunity to. For a party of 2, the wait at 5pm (after we waited about 20min to put our name down) was about 2 hours. Not the end of the world, there are some good spots nearby to grab a drink while you wait! Highlights: 1. The burger was just as good as the hype - soooo juicy and flavorful 2. Fries and aioli - while they didn't come with the burger, the fries were perfectly crisp and aioli delicious 3. Ham and chips - such a simple dish but really fun idea Lowlights: 1. Lamb tartare - bit of a miss for me, I expected a bit more flavor and it was heavy on the olive 2. Escargot - for the namesake, I was expecting better, the bread was pretty hard too 3. Octopus Gilda - was expecting a bit more Octopus given the price of the add on 4. Service felt super rushed - the escargot, ham chips, and lamb tartare all came out at the same time, which was difficult to manage while eating at the bar While I was glad I came, I don't think I'd wait as long to dine here again. That said, the burger and fries were really good, so maybe if there is a minimal wait?

Made plans to come here on a Friday evening with one other person. They don't take reservations so you have to go early to put your name on the waitlist. My friend went around 4:30 and unfortunately I did not get there in time as they require everyone to be present when you are seated. So we had to wait an hour and 45 min. There are some bars in the area where its easy to grab a predinner cocktail so its really not the worst thing! Overall, thought this spot was solid! Our waiter (kenan i think) was AMAZING. Great energy and some of the best service i have had in a minute. we had an appetizer prior to getting seated elsewhere so we did one app, two mains and dessert. It was the perfect amount of food. the food is typical french american bistro fare but with a slight twist and i was pretty impressed with it all. the escargot was great and comes with nick and sons bread, the crab pasta was super light and fresh, and the burger was also solid. The sticky toffee date cake was very good as well. Warm and crispy edges on the cake paired with the hot toffee sauce and cold ice cream was perfection. Believe it was around $70 per person with drinks which is typical for the area imo. The menu isnt too big but I definitely want to come back to try other items! big windows here perfect for the upcoming sunny days!!!!

You know the drill. Show up early, wait in line and be prepared to eat dinner at 5pm. We got here at 4pm on a Saturday and were the third ones here. The previous Saturday we got here at 5:30 and the wait was 3.5 hours. They mostly have two tops, a few four tops and plenty of seats at the bar. Your best bet is to come as a party of two and definitely do not try to come here as large group. As far as the food goes, everything was incredible. We ordered the burger, fries, yams with chili oil, black bass crudo, lamb tartare, and agnolotti. We washed this all down with martinis and added the octopus gilda for good measure. You should definitely come here, it's worth the wait. And come hungry, you'll want to order everything.

The restaurant is walk-in only, so I'd recommend arriving around 4:15-4:30 to wait in line. My party arrived at 4, and we were first in line. They only have 2 tables for large parties, so if you have more than 4 people in your group, definitely try to be at the front of the line. In terms of food, the meal was decent but definitely did not meet my expectations. The oysters were mediocre and not cleaned well. Our appetizers were probably the best part of our meal. We got the brussel sprouts and squash. The brussel sprouts were very flavorful. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the chili oil in the squash, but some people in my party loved it. The burger was average. Though I didn't try the streak frites or crab pasta, the members of my party that did order then did not seem too satisfied (portion sizes were also small). The date toffee cake was fine, but some people thought it was too sweet. The chocosu was OK as well but a really dry for a tiramisu. Overall, while the experience wasn't bad, much was left to be desired. I'm unsure if I would return especially for the wait and prices.

However, I was quickly proven wrong. Not only was the service topnotch, but the drinks were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. There's a ton of options which is also surprising considering the tap only format. Upon further reflection of how tiny the bar is, it makes sense why they would go this route. It would be challenging for one person let alone two to be behind that bar shaking and stirring. I also heard there's a back area with more seating but we didn't explore much further than the front bar stool seating. Seems like a cool spot for happy hour or late night drinks and I would definitely return!

We were lucky to grab 2 seats at the bar as the rest of the seating actually seemed a bit cramped and uninviting. They advertise a heated back patio but I don't think the heat was on and no one was there, which is a bummer. Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.
