This is BBQ done wrong! This can't even be considered BBQ by Texas standards. Brisket without a smoke ring? Watch videos and they'll teach you to make better food. The Brisket had no flavor. Not salt, not seasonings, not even a smoke flavor. The chicken was finished cooking 4 hours ago but they continued cooking it and then served it to us. The sausage was horribly disgusting. I spit it out immediately. The skin was crispy but the inside was like mushy turkey burger. The beans and green beans were ok. Brisket fries had no flavor either. Not an enjoyable meal at all. Heed my warning y'all, drive further for better food.

My wife and I were heading back from a weekend vacation and really wanted BBQ. Of course we prefer to give our money to a mom and pop shop or a franchise not available near us, but in this case, it left us a bit disappointed. I ordered the brisket and sausage plate.. The brisket we mostly fat and once trimmed that of, was like 4 bites and I really wasn't a fan of the flavor of the sausage. The okra wasn't bad (hard to screw up fried okra unless it's in the fryer too long) and def liked the cream corn. That corn had a very good flavor and was pretty tasty I also tried the peach cobbler and it was def a miss (1) it tasted like was fresh out of the refrigerator so very cold when I was hoping for warm or room temp and 2) it was nearly all breading and not much peach, and the breading was flavorless as well). Overall being a BBQ lover born and raised in the South, I might be a bit too picky, but this didn't hit the spot at all, so next time in this part of the state, I'll look elsewhere if wanting BBQ

We passed this smokehouse and came back to try it as it was happy hour. We got the turkey legs and Ribs Okra and green beans, the turkey legs were so good and very big and tender. The green beans was not what I was expecting they tasted like can beans with good flavor broth. The Okra was hot and very good. The worst were the ribs they were hard and some areas were very tender but mostly tough. I was really hope that they were a wow but maybe next time or not. The lady at the register was so sweet and so was the other lady. The restroom was clean, but no running warm water. The restaurant was really busy so maybe we just got a very bad batch of Ribs. Well till next time hopefully

I USED TO love this place. I would only place to go orders and the food WAS amazing. I just ordered through a delivery app and will probably never order again. I paid almost 30 bucks for one plate and an extra side. The brisket was super dry, they only gave 1 rib and it was super thin, the sausage was mushy on the inside, the rice has zero flavor, the potato salad tasted like HEB potato salad and the green beans had a funky taste.

My husband and I got variety plates of sausage, brisket, and chicken (with different sides). Everything was so so good but I think the brisket was my favorite!

Wow! We were in town visiting our son at Lackland & The Smokehouse was down the street. OMG, their food was fabulous. Their service was friendly, very efficient and polite. Talk about southern hospitality! I don't know where the 2 bad reviews came from, but the food here was very good. Their smoked brisket was smooth with good flavor. If you want lean meat, you probably should have a steak at a foofy place. My wife said the Mac n Cheese was the best she's ever had. It was under $40 to feed 4 people with the large portions given. I guess I'm use to California prices. Lamb plate: tender, fall off the bone tasty Pork Rib plate: great fall off the bone ribs Brisket & Sausage "Manwich": the meats were so tender & tasty I wish we has this restaurant in Ca?

Brisket,5. Brisket and Pork Rib Plate

Food was good as always highly recommend the potato salad and creamed corn, left completely full

Gross! Very disappointed in my meal for my family this Friday evening. The Mac n cheese was disgusting, the potato salad was hot and more like a sweet mashed potato. I asked for lean brisket and didn't get that either! Just all around horrible and sad too because I've always eaten here and it use to be good.

I ordered the Manwich today and it was not good. Dry chicken and dry sausage. Then about 20 minutes after eating I got sick. Awful.

The brisket is amazing but the sides are not very satisfying. I would not go back. Staff was nice but I need great sides with my bbq.

For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Anyways still a great meal overall and we will be back!

Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

We were right on the river walk, but walked through the entire restaurant on our way to be seated and every bit of it is as lovely as where we ended up sitting. The Riverwalk, however, is a people watching place and so there really isn't any place in this particular restaurant which is not gonna be pleasant. Secondly, the service is exceptional. This is a very busy place. However, the waiter was simply incredible. Very attentive, very informative quite humorous. He was frankly part of the river walk entertainment. Extremely accommodating and instructive as well. You can't hope for much more from a server in Restaurant than this activity. The food is really quite good. How are the drinks. Extremely dependable and the portions are generous and equally wonderful. There are many places to dine in San Antonio. However, this is an experience not to be missed and I mean that quite sincerely. The soup never arrived, but we didn't say anything because the prime rib with fries and veg looked like plenty of food for us. The prime rib was flavorful, and was a big portion which was expected for the $48 price tag. Veg was mid and I wasn't wowed by the seasoning on the shoestring fries. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the lime chess pie. In general, I adore chess pies but the lime flavor just didn't pair well with the custard filling.

Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I had it with smoked salmon and it really hit the spot. The service was polite and attentive. We're excited to return for our next visit

It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick.
