I really liked this place. If I lived in Boulder, I would definitely hit this place up pretty regularly. It is a great college town restaurant. The burger was pretty good and the fries were great. I am also a fan of the Sink sauce too! The individual pizza looked kinda small but looked good. Our server was really good on a really busy day. He did not miss a beat and it seemed like the other waiters were doing a great job too. He was not a chatty, be my best friend type of waiter, but was on top of it and I appreciate that. Great atmosphere and awesome food! I ordered the jalapeños wrapped in bacon which set my mouth afire! I love hot stuff but these were a bit hard to handle as none of the pepper guts had been removed. I absolutely love this place. It looks like a strange little hole in the wall, with low ceilings and graffiti on the walls. Then you really get to know the place and it gets better every time you go. My experience today wasn't that great. They did bring a bowl for my dog and that's why I gave it the extra star. But the Classic Reuben was extremely saucy and the meat was piled low and hard to bite. Very small sandwich for a big price. The fries were a bit stale. I have mixed feelings about this place. In my opinion, their food is horrible. I would only eat their food if I was drunk, but by the time that happens the kitchen is closed. They have a great bar though. I thoroughly enjoy coming here early and staying late for the drinks. The bar tenders were great back in my college days and we always had a pretty great time. Their $1 wells are definitely worth the crowd. Still don't think I'd ever eat there for a meal though. I've never had a good thing their - including their burgers. read more

My friends and I showed up after watching the Buffs play the UNC Bears. There was about 6 of us all together. The bartender from Alaska, seemed visibly upset because of our presence. The restaurant was close to being empty at the time. This bartender demanded we move in order to alleviate any future potential traffic congestion towards the bathroom. I felt his demand was made to make us feel uncomfortable. I mentioned that I couldn't understand, why out of anybody else there, we were made to move. The bartender abruptly shouted, "You're cut off!" I told him my intention was not to offend him.I let him know I had served 2 combat tours and felt I should be treated the same like everyone else. He responded, "Im from Alaska and I killed people too!" I graduated from Greeley, and had never experienced this type of treatment at a bar there. I was dumbfounded by this sort of behavior. We told the bartender we'll finish our drinks and go. As we left, another patron felt the need to tell me he supported us and felt the bartender was overwhelmingly aggressive. read more

We stopped in for happy hour and dinner. My husband had a Bloody Mary with a brisket slider, chicken wings, and stuffed jalapeños on it. It was by far the craziest drink I have ever seen. The food was great too. Four stars! read more

Went here for my friend's birthday and as soon as I walked in,I could see all these drawings everywhere, which I found entertaining, but a little bit obnoxious. So don't come here if you're looking to relax and enjoy your meal. This place is definitely busy and the waiter we had couldn't attend to us too much, and he didn't even bother checking on us because he was too busy. The food did come pretty fast though, but I have to say that my chicken sandwhich was dry. I don't understand the deal with Boulder, and the way they prepare their chicken. It's always dry and bland in flavor. I did like the fries I got on the side though. That was good, other than that, this place is average. Nothing too memorable, except for the decor. read more

It had been a few years since the last Sink visit, but remembered why: excellent pizzas with perfectly done crust (if not somewhat funky shaped edges!) that you can't stop eating and a nice selection/quality of toppings. The Buddha is primo along with the Slaughterhouse (5 meats!). Large pizzas are huge! The sink delivers. I walked into the sink 10 mins after arriving in Boulder from a 4 day drive across the US. We sat down in this deeply atmospheric restauarant with a reasonably ordinary menu. I wasn't expecting much, I was tired and just wanted nutrients. My son and I split the spicy green chili and one of their signature burgers. When it arrived, I was delighted. The chili was legit spicy and super tasty. The burger had flavor combos that put in the running for best burger (on short list with Boulevard Burgers and Brew, RVA). The service was a little slow, but they also educated us on where to buy my son a bouldering crashpad and where to go climbing on our first day out. This was a huge time saver for us. The art on the walls is truly unique and deserves its own review. Make the trip, stand in line, its worth it! read more

Perhaps I forgot, or maybe it's new, either way the Sink offers solo pizza sizes. This is perfect for a single serving. Pick your crust (I still dig honey whole wheat), pick your sauce, pick your toppings... A plain solo starts at just under $6 with additional toppings added on from there. The creole spiced chicken was pleasantly spicy and went fantastic with the caramelized onions, spinach, and blue cheese crumbles I selected. I often don't order pizza because we don't want a gigantic one with slices leftover. This is the perfect alternative. Kudos to the Sink for having a special selection at the bar for Colorado-based distillers as well. Free WiFi. read more

Since CU football games are, regrettably, alcohol-free events and the food in the stadium is over-priced and not that great, I find myself at The Sink more often than not before heading to Folsom Field to root on the Buffs. Err...well, truthfully, I find myself at The Sink anytime I'm in Boulder looking for a good time. I don't need the excuse of a football game to drink beer and have a great burger, but it certainly does make it more fun. I've tried a few of the burgers, and I feel fairly confident saying that you probably can't go wrong with any of them. The Sink sauce is really good- I don't usually go for "barbeque-type" sauces on my burgers but this one I really enjoyed. Enjoy it with fries and a cold beer and you're in business. As a side note- before football games they have a little setup in the waiting area where you can get cans of beer and JUNGLE JUICE on tap. Nice. read more

Went back for a re trial. Nate and Jordan were taking care of me and my friend. I had the sink burger with jalapenos and the spicy jack cheese and it kicked my taste buds into the "hot" zone for sure. My friend had the Brewers burger and confirmed my past review, its awesome. It's a classic. I visit the Sink every time I visit Boulder, which tends toward once every year or so. The pizza is good for the west, the sandwiches are good, and my drinking friends tell me the beer selection is decent I like the atmosphere, and the servers are friendly. Five stars. The food was good. It was not on Pearl St. Mall but on "the Hill" part of Boulder. Parking was easy to find when I went there. For $1.25/hr parking on the street, it was a done deal. I ordered the mini sinkburgers. Not a big fan of raw onion but love grilled. So despite that I didnt get lettuce, I ordered the sliders. Nothing special, but a honest, good juicy burger. What I didn't like about this place and ultimately made me give only three stars is that I had to wait more than half an hour before I got my beer. The waitress did not somehow want to take my order. She didn't seem to be busy so I don't know why. But i'm sure she had her reasons. The wall arts were hilarious and awesome. The sink never disappoints, whether you come to drink and have a social night out for a quick bite to eat everything is always delicious. They recently changed their menu and added a ton of different and new items. New and noteworthy items include the Mac and cheese, they have a few different types that you can get but the buffalo Mac is pretty fantastic! Another one of my personal favorites is the herbie combination, a burger Fries and a salad all for a great price. Drinking here is always a great time! A friendly tip is to order the strawberry kamikazee shot, it has strawberry purée added into it and it's so delicious you'll want to make it a drink! read more

Crazy cool artwork, a storied history and a great burger. I have a family member attending CU Boulder and we came by to visit him and take him to dinner. Immediately walking into the establishment you see eccentric artwork from the wall to ceiling. The staff was very nice and the food came out quickly. Our party choose a variety of burgers from the menu. I opted for the Spicy Bleu because it had Sriracha and bleu cheese, an amazing combination. I also enjoy the Bacon wrapped jalapenos for an appetizer, which were equally amazing. My only complaint is the buns for the hamburgers fell apart too easily. I really enjoyed this classic college restaurant especially the unique artwork that covers the place. I would definitely come back to try more items from the menu. This is the coolest place! Near the university it is a go-to place for students ( and us old folks too). Many kinds of combos with sandwich and fries. A Cowboy Reuben was all the volume I could eat. Well, if I was a partying CU student and need to satisfy the munchies, this would be an awesome place. Alas, for the rest of us, it's a dingy, low, basement with a lot of interesting graffiti, art, and historical tidbits on the wall to distract you from the below-average food. The staff is adept at drawing your eyeballs (especially those of young men), but less skilled at their actual job. Robert Redford is rumored to have once worked here. They seem to resting on a combination of students looking for a hangout, nostalgic folks remembering their own good times here, and the inertia behind the simple the fact that they've been around for so long. read more
