COWBOY REUBEN

More of a divey spot with crazy wall art and you can write your name on their low ceilings. We loved the sink so much we came back for lunch a few days later! Located in the heart of Boulder it can be a bit crazy especially on a game day so plan accordingly. We came for lunch and ordered their infamous burgers. The tres fuegos and bacon jammin burgers. Both were delicious in their own way and neither of us were willing to share with each other. Their regular fries are dusted with a Cajun seasoning. The sweet potatoes fries are amazing but make sure to ask for them well done. We came back a few days later for lunch as well and ordered their cowboy rueben and pesto chicken sandwich. Amazing meal again so delicious and reasonably priced. Service was great both meals, though when asking for the check and trying to get out it takes some time we they definitely are understaffed.

Came here on a CU game day, so honestly, didn't even expect to get in. Despite my skepticism, we only had to wait a few minutes. Fun place! Cool history, quick service, cheap drinks. If I didn't have to run to the game, I would have been happy to stay for food and vibes. I'll be back-- first impression was great!

Great casual dive bar spot. We popped in on a Saturday for a late lunch and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Once seated, it was a great experience. Lots of fun art and tons of tvs so definitely a great spot to hang out. To eat I got the Texas onion straw burger and while I know they are known for their ugly pizza crust we all agreed our burgers and sandwiches were better than the pizza! They were loaded with toppings and the fries were great!!

TEXAS ONION STRAW

Great food great service fun atmosphere. Definitely a great place to check out when in Boulder. Burgers and chicken sandwiches were delicious and definitely brought the heat of you like spicy. The sweet potato fries were great with the spicy ranch. Good cocktail and beer selection. Everyone was friendly and attentive drinks refilled quickly empty plates cleared swiftly. So much to check out between the wall of fame and the paintings/writings on the wall.

Great, casual dive bar spot. A wide variety of things to choose from, we tried the. Texas onion straw burger and the buff mac. Both were very filling and quite heavy, on brand with bar food if that's what you're looking for. The place is filled with fun history. Be sure to sign your name in there too!

It's a must-visit for the history and atmosphere alone. We remember the food being better--but that was nearly 25 years ago, back in our college days, so maybe our memory's a little "hazy". The service was a bit slow for the later side of the lunch hour. The chipotle chicken soup didn't quite come together flavor-wise for us, and the super basic burger we ordered (to share with our little one) was fine, we prefer crisp pickles and the onions were limp and lacked flavor--my husband joked they looked like they'd been sitting at the bottom of "the sink". And this, friends, is why I write reviews.

Food was amazing!! Every thing we ordered was delicious!! Pizza, burgers, nachos, fries- everything. Drinks were good as well. They have outdoor and indoor seating which is great! Inside is so unique! They have artwork all over which is really cool! I wasn't a fan of the service though. The waitress kept forgetting things we asked for. It was a busy Saturday but I feel like getting what I ask for is important.

Very cool spot with a trippy vibe. Plenty of bar pace with a few TVs if you're trying to get a beer and watch a game. I started with some wings extra crispy like they meant to be. No lemon pepper so I got hot and bbq. Not really into bbq wings but the flavor was right. Wings were nice and crispy and the hot was choice too. Got a southwest bacon burger with added crispy onion straws and damn. The fried jalapeños and bacon were putting in work. Only thing missing would be like some aioli mayo something or other. But the burger was on point. Love that they use a lot of pepper jack, way underrated burger cheese. They have plenty of beers on tap with a lot of Colorado local stuff. Staff was friendly and quick. I went for a late lunch on Wednesday and it wasn't too packed. But I can see it filling up for prime rush times. Not a lot of great parking mostly street but there is also a little pay lot across the street.

I can't think of any place other than THE SINK when I offer suggestions for Boulder visitors. The menu is epic and every time I've tried something new it becomes my new favorite food. The service is quick and in great spirits. The atmosphere is so fun and second to none when it comes to originality. This place is a staple of Boulder!!

This place was recommended to me by my car rental specialist! It definitely doesn't disappoint! A historic (over 100 year) restaurant located in the CO college town. This place is definitely a vibe. From the written and drawn up walls, to educational and satire cartoons, it gives off that vibe it's the place to be. The service is very fast and accommodating. Even Andrew, the manager, came to check on us! He even thought we were college students. Besides all of that, the food is super delicious. I had the burnt ends max and cheese, and my cousin built her own burger. Unfortunately, we forgot there is something called "altitude sickness" so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we should have. I'll definitely come back here when I visit!

Miya served us well. She assisted with the Food and Beer Menu. Coming here is like stepping back in time. When my wife was a Buff they would come here 3 to 4 times a Week. It is still a very cool place We both went for the Buff Mac-n-Cheese. All I can say is it was outta this World. For beverages we went for the Drumroll and Coors. For dessert we selected the GIANT COOKIE. OMG this place is over the TOP with super delicious food and service from people like Miya. Miya is super and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you asked to be seated in her section as you will have an AWESOME EXPERIENCE.

Went to eat here after a comedy show at the boulder theater with the lady. Surprised to walk in and see all the GOATs that have eaten here. The signatures and eccentric art on the graffiti'd walls was a dope touch with the low hanging ceiling that would probably cause someone to get a concussion if they're above 5'11". But once seated I asked the waitress what burger she would recommend and she mentioned the Texas or the bacon jammin burger, and I of course went with the one loaded with grilled onions. I regret nothing. It was perfect after a long hungry day. My girlfriend had a drunken chicken pizza that also slapped. Can't wait to come back some day!

Graffiti and artwork on walls.

How easy is it to park?

There's a paid parking lot across the street and street parking, it's so close to parking typically it's smooth sailing but it's also on the Hill so weekends/prime times do get busy.

We also had their special tomahawk steak which was cooked fantastically and to our liking (medium rare). Great service too and our server was super helpful in recommendations for both food and drinks. However, everything was definitely quite pricey for what we got. Though every ounce of food was delicious and top quality, the meal was definitely a splurge and more of a once-in-awhile treat.

I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.

Well, it is as long as you're not Black. I have been coming to this place since it opened. My relationship with Black Belly has lasted longer than my last marriage and would probably have lasted longer than what will be my subsequent marriage and maybe the one after that... but unfortunately, it has to go the way of those men! Last night, I stopped in for just a simple espresso martini so that I could stay awake for planned festivities... everything was fine, but one of the bartenders did give me a really nasty look when I sat in front of him. Now this is a shame because this is actually a fellow person of color and being that I am part Asian, Blasian on my mother's side: what I'm about to describe really does not sit well with me specifically. As I was going to leave, he mockingly asked if I changed my mind and wanted another. Or, after talking about how he has this roommate who only likes chicken fingers to other customers with disdain for said roommate's unrefined palate, told me he could instead get me some chicken fingers from the back while literally cackling AT me.... ?! Excuse me? So, I won't say how I responded, but it was appropriate and I immediately walked out, and I don't know how it could ever be made up to me to walk back in... Mocking a Black woman to her face and asking her if she wants some fried chicken from the back?! Wtf!!! I have had fine dining experiences all over the world certainly all over the state and the only other time I've experienced more egregious treatment was in Aspen: which I expect. To be clear, I have eaten at this location on more occasions than I can count as I have already expressed; that includes the front deli as well as the main dining room and at the bar. This assumption about my palate if meant innocently (it wasn't, the other bar patrons and bartender were visibly horrified!) was in poor taste at best. At worst, well... So get it together, Black Belly management. I also heard that your bartenders don't need to go to meetings? Maybe they should at the very least receive a little bit more training on basic professionalism! The food here is excellent. I couldn't bring myself to do one star; but, not worth macro racial aggression especially from a man! Major ick.

One of our favorite things during the pandemic when restaurants could reopen was picking up their in house chicken pot pie. It's my husband's absolute favorite chicken recipe which I used to make myself. Though I am unable to make it now that l have lost a lot of vision and not a single one we have bought elsewhere was sufficient until we ordered from The Post Boulder. After a short time it became too labor intensive for the Post to make in house back then with limited staff so they contracted with a pie facility in Denver.
