Ted Layton from the Shade Store design department helped me every step of the way, I could not have asked for a better 5 stars services.

I had to replace shades for a client and we knew the exisiting ones were from The Shade Store years ago and while we needed the exact ones, we really did not know what the pattern, weight, etc was that we were needing. Ted Layton, my sales consultant, was so knowledgeable and accomodating for our needs. The Shade Store employee was sent over within just a few days for exact measurements then my order was quickly placed and even though the install was scheduled for a couple of days before Xmas, we received the shades in just a few days, and I was able to bump up the install date! YAY. Then, the installer, Ben, was so timely (ahead of scheduled window!), professional, courteous, mindful of the client's space, etc. An overall fantastic experience. I'm so disappointed to share how awful the service as been from this company. I have been dealing with them since January and still do not have shades that work properly with the app, a huge selling point. They don't reply to emails or texts when its not convenient for them....I will honestly say that I'm leaving this review here today because that's been the only way I get a response from customer service! I cannot say enough about the elite service I received from Linde at The Domain's store. I first popped in being drawn to a Roman Shade in the window considering what to hang in my new home. Linde took me from boring blinds to delicious draperies! Every window got a makeover... it was like frosting a cake! Linde is a true designer and visionary. I'm pretty bold with decor and she was entirely there for it! She also steered me in the right direction when I might've made a choice I'd not have been happy with down the road. Although this might be an expense you've not budgeted for I'd suggest reallocating! Linde is artistically gifted, accessible, fun, vibrant, knowledgeable, professional, and a real pleasure to work alongside. Ted Layton was my designer. He did a great job in helping me pick the fabric for my drapes. He was very helpful. The installation went smoothly. I haven't done a drape install in over 15 years so I was very surprised as to how much it cost. I guess inflation! The drapes look great though!!! read more

My husband and I walked in to talk about a curtain requirement for our living room and a roller shade requirement for our master bedroom. I wish I'd scheduled an appointment before I showed up but thankfully there was no customer so it worked out. Ted was extremely curious and helpful in understanding our requirements and asked for any existing photographs of the two locations. upon reviewing he gave us a whole bunch of great options that we took home and came back to him the next week. Extremely poor experience. I ordered a set of relaxed roman shades with a blackout liner for my son's nursery. Everything went seemingly well, the shades were made and installed in a timely manner. However, the next morning when I went into his nursery, there was a large amount of sunlight coming through the shades, telling me they were in fact not blackout. I called The Shade Store (I was working with Linde at the Domain location in Austin, TX), informing them the shades did not seem to be blackout and sent them a photo. They agreed that the shades were made incorrectly with privacy liner, and that they would make me a new set with the blackout liner as I had requested. So a slight hiccup, but seemed like they were correcting the issue in a timely manner. the second set of shades arrived and were installed. Same issue... they were made with privacy liner again and not blackout. At this point, my son had been born and was actively using the nursery. So this had now been a 4 month long process that was supposed to have been taken care of before he was born, and how we were into his 3rd week of life without the shades I desired. After the second set of shades had been incorrectly made and installed, I called back for a THIRD set to be made. I instead called the New York headquarters instead of the local Domain location in Austin. The woman I spoke to at headquarters informed the that relaxed roman shades are not compatible with a blackout liner, and that is not a product combination they offer. Why this was the first time I was hearing about this after having ordered the shades twice was beyond me, and extremely infuriating. When I informed Linde at the Austin location, she said she was not aware of that product limitation..... seems like a huge oversight in employee training and knowledge. So then, I ordered for a THIRD time my shades, but in a flat roman style instead of relaxed roman, so I could have the blackout liner. The installation was scheduled for mid-December, but the day before it was scheduled for I still had not received my shades, so I called customer service who informed me there was a delay with my product and the order had not been sent to production. Why I had not heard of this a month after placing my third order, and why nobody called to inform me was also beyond me. Need I say more... there are still more hiccups and frustrations that I haven't even listed here. But I will NEVER be using the Shade Store again. Extremely extremely poor customer service. I also have yet to be successful at getting any sort of reimbursement or compensation for this. I placed the initial order back in July and we're now almost in February and I still do not have my shades....... would strongly recommend using a different store, or at least not working with the Domain location in Austin, TX. read more

I had the pleasure to work remotely with Tami Briggs from "The SHADE STORE" in Nevada. I initially was on the website only to browse as I was looking for info and not ready to buy. Tami responded immediately to my chat questions. She treated me like a VIP customer! Tami thoroughly answered all of my questions, worked around my work schedule and set up video conference calls to see my space and offer invaluable insight. I ended up ordering the roller shades in "Salt" based off Tami's suggestions and I love them! Tami sent a number of samples, set up my free measurements as well as my online account. These shades are nice and of superior quality but they are indeed an investment (expensive). Tami sealed the deal with her excellent customer service. She was awesome and I enjoyed working with her. I will eventually order custom drapes as well. Overall I highly recommend THE SHADE STORE if you're looking for quality and excellent customer service from the consultants/designers, to the measuring folks and all the way through to installation! FYI, the measuring and installation guys were awesome and on time but this review is long enough. You get the gist.. just order the darn shades!! read more
