There is a reason why they have so many Five Star reviews! We have been building a house and wanted hard wired blinds. The first step was talking to the technical people (I think it was Ken) at Austin Window Fashions. He spoke to our electrician so there was no mistake about where the wires should come out and even what gauge wire (admittedly things I know nothing about). When the house was finished and we had a better idea of what we would want for blinds, we paid a visit to the showroom (and I highly recommend before they come out to measure). I brought pictures and was assisted by Laurie Clifton. She was able to show me ideas of what would look good in our rooms. When we moved in, we realized rather quickly how we have no privacy in our bedrooms so this was a priority. In the showroom, they have every idea you could possibly think of. I wanted a dual blind - a privacy blind with a light shade blind and of course they had the perfect solution and in a pattern/color that goes perfectly with the contemporary theme of our home. Next, Laurie came out to measure and brought samples to actually hold up to the window to get an idea of what the final product would look like. We signed the order and put the deposit down. These are all made to specifications so it takes a little bit of time, but really, the wait wasn't too long. When it was time to install, I received a phone call and it was simple to schedule a 2 hour window for the installation. The people who did the installation are extremely professional and treat everything with a "white glove" service. Very respectful of the home and cleaned up any debris from the installation. They came and immediately went to work. It was amazing how quick the installation was. The wiring took a little longer because they had to identify which wire went to which window (they weren't labeled) but that didn't bother them in the least. Once they finished the installation, they instructed me on the download of the app used to control the wired blinds. Once I had the app downloaded, they went through every aspect of the app showing me how to control each individual blind or how to control them together. Setting schedules and so much more. It was extremely informative and again, they do it with such professionalism. We had blinds installed in a total of five full bedroom windows. We have windows in our dining room and home office that need blinds and given this experience, there is no doubt we are going back to Austin Window Fashions for the remaining windows. Update: We do love our shutters. Started a five star experience, but there was a mistake in manufacturing, when fixed, the shutter was left wet as it had gotten water on it from the rain, something the first installer warned to never do. That deserved only three. The owner contacted me within literally 2 minutes of posting my review. Taylor was very serious about making it right, so much that they insisted on replacing the shutter that had gotten wet just so I never had to think about it again. She really cares about the customer and the reputation of their brand. I got what I ordered and even with the mistakes, so much effort spent to make it right, they got the two stars back. The Duette Vertiglide broke that was under warranty. Austin Window Fashions confirmed the warranty and ordered the parts which were not properly installed at the factory. When the parts arrived Austin Window Fashions contacted me and arranged for installation. Their service reps arrived on time and installed the parts. We were looking at shutters and did not want to go white again. We fell in love with this dark grey arch they have in the showroom, where we first met with our designer, who walked us through other options to help narrow down what we would want for our home. Our designer came out home with swatches and more! On her recommendation, we went lighter and we are so happy we did. This grey is amazing, it subtle enough to not be the focus but pops just right. Everything is custom, so you pick out the direction it opens, the size of the leuvers, etc. Also the amount of fabrics for the rollers are endless. Shutters are not the cheapest purchase for your home, but they offered the best service and were less expensive then another quote we received. It's been a few hours since my shutters and Luminette was installed and I still couldn't stop looking at them. They are just as beautiful as they can be. My initial consultation was with Mary, and this was right when SIP was in place and the house was still under construction. We had to do it via phone calls/text and emails. I always love shutters but the cost is always way too much for the entire house so I was considering shutters just on the front of the house, roller for the rest of the windows and some kind of sliding blinds for my sliders. But after going back and forth with quotes (sorry Mary!), having shutters for the whole house plus Luminette for my sliders is actually affordable. That's because she was able to get a volume discount. The more you order the more discount you get. The shutters are made in house (I'm all about supporting local businesses!), custom painted to match your trim and there's some upgrade that you can get for free which is amazing! We finally were able to make an appointment to visit the showroom to pick our shutters style and fabric for the Luminette and 5 weeks later they called to schedule the installation. Highly recommend! We were insistent on having window treatments installed in our new home as soon as we moved in and Meredith made it all possible! I found AWF through Yelp and noticed immediately the countless 5 star ratings. I submitted an inquiry online and the very next day, Meredith reached out to schedule a complimentary consultation in-person. We're about 30 minutes away from their showroom and I was certain that this level of service was going to come with a high price tag! She sent us a quote for Plantation Shutters and boy, was I right! First of all, I love the look of shutters, however, I did not do my homework as I should've expected them to be out of our budget. I immediately wrote Meredith back and explained how much I wanted to spend. She didn't waste a minute longer and came back with a quote that worked within our price range. I do have to add that I received a quote from another vendor that was recommended by the builders that we purchased our home from.
