It took three months, start to finish, to get new treatments installed on every window in our 1700 square foot house. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he guided me from there. Then of course, because I'm a woman, changed my mind a few weeks later. He was so patient, kind and detail oriented so he handled all this in stride!! We have an unusual triangle-shaped window at the top of a closet in our master bedroom that we wanted the option to cover, but not a permanent shade. After contacting many companies, Justin from River City promptly responded with an option to do shutters. The louvers open/close and each panel hinges open, so we have flexibility for occasional changes to our lighting. Communication was very easy via text/phone, so he could send images of prior similar work and schedule visits to measure the space and agree on design opens. Start to finish everything was 3 weeks (we paid a small fee to rush it) and indeed everything was remarkably on time, even during covid. Installation was a breeze -- George and Gary (Greg?) came out and hung it perfectly in about 20-30 minutes. I moved into my home just over a year ago. There is a large bay window in the bedroom and the existing plain white blinds did little to block the light. Finally the blind on the large center window broke beyond repair. The blinds were all non-standard sizes and the company that had made them went out of business several years ago. I called in three local companies for estimates and chose River City Blinds because their price was competitive, I liked the quality of the products, and even with the pandemic, I was told the blinds could be ready a couple of weeks. Justin Joswiak who came to measure the windows was very professional and gave me several good suggestions regarding the types of blinds and color. He noticed that the windows had alarm sensors and said that he could install the blinds so that they were less likely to interfere with the sensors. I decided not only to replace the three bay window blinds, but also the nonfunctioning curtain on the bedroom sliding glass door as well as the blind on another bedroom window just so everything would match. After conferring with Justin, I selected light-canceling honeycomb blinds in a color that complemented the existing walls and valance. When the blinds came in, River City installed promptly and professionally everything in just over an hour. I am very pleased with the look and function of the new blinds. read more
