I was able to schedule quickly and Velma was able to fit me in 2 days later! She helped me narrow down colors and textures for my floor to ceiling windows downtown. I was extremely nervous about a sliding door making a section difficult for the shades but she knew her stuff! She was able to really accentuate points (Bluetooth, motorized, blackout) that she thought I would want and kept me under budget! I am so happy and excited that I went with Hill Country Blinds! read more

Loved working with Velma! She is an absolute dream when it comes to knowing exactly what you want and what will work for your space. Highly recommend Hill Country Blinds! read more

Velma is great! Came out and did custom measurements on my new build. Walked me through all of my options and was very honest and straightforward. Was super helpful! Blinds came in earlier than expected and they came and installed them the morning they arrived. The installer was quick and very friendly as well. I even got a thank you card from them after the transaction was complete. Very pleased with their service and product! My blinds are beautiful! read more

Recommended by a neighbor, they're very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with; offered a straightforward solution to a somewhat tricky high-rise condo installation that others claimed would be more complicated & costly to implement. Their installer was on-time, clearly knew what he was doing, and finished-up in under two hours. A keeper! read more

We have worked with Hill Country Blinds twice and both experiences have been excellent. Velma is a pro and a lovely person. She made everything easy and clearly knows what she is doing. The shades arrived on schedule (a rarity these days), were installed perfectly and look beautiful. We look forward to working with HCB again! read more

Love this small family owned local business! Our builder referred us to Hill Country Blinds. We called Velma and she came over to do measurements and gave us lots of options to choose from. We are very happy with the service and quality of the blinds. read more

We highly recommend Hill Country Blinds. We have used them now for two homes. Velma, her son and his wife, Stefanie, were so easy to work with--and during a pandemic! Our shutters were made in the US--which was a big deal for us--and arrived in 3 weeks. Our blinds were installed in 4 weeks. This family business offers so many options, quick delivery and their customer service is top notch. Thank you Velma, Daniel, and Stefanie! read more

After doing a price & product comparison of several area custom window treatment companies, I chose Hill Country on the basis of product and price. I also liked the idea that I was dealing with the owner of the company (family-owned) and not just a sales rep. She was honest in her recommendations, because she could have sold me the much more expensive product I asked about instead of the one she recommended instead, which has performed very well throughout my house for the past nine years! When I called recently to see if they did repairs for two minor open & close glitches, they said sure. They offered to have me bring in the blinds or to come out for a reasonable service call fee; being skittish about pulling down heavy wooden blinds, I chose the latter, and they set up an appointment. The owner herself showed up with her son, right on time, and they fixed the blinds with no problem. They even threw in a couple of pieces of hardware to anchor my back door blind for no extra charge. I would use this company again and recommend them without hesitation. I imagine a bigger company with higher overhead would have trouble beating their price, and maybe their personalized customer service as well. read more

The owner of this company is extremely rude and petty. I would not recommend this business to anyone of my friends. They took months to get my blinds in. Then they were broken and they had to come back 4 times bc they didn't have the tools with them to fix them. Small one man operation. Do not hire them for your commercial property. They can't handle anything other than a residence. Even then they take forever bc everyone refuses to work with them so the only employee is the owners son. One star. Pew. read more

This is a wonderful honest company. They really know about the products they sell. Easy to work with. Will use them again and highly recommend. read more

We were looking to replace our blinds with plantation shutters. Did a lot of research online and locally. Finally narrowed it down to three and then selected Hill Country Blinds. Velma came to the house, offered us many options and much advice, took the measurements and gave us a quote on the spot. We both felt very comfortable dealing with her as she wasn't pushy, never criticized other people's product and offered top of the line shutters (custom made in Austin) at a very reasonable price. Turn around time from ordering to installation was four weeks - significantly less than other companies. Sergio from Eclipse Const. professionally installed the shutters and did a fantastic job. We couldn't be happier with the support and service we got from these two local companies. This is a family run business that we would highly recommend . read more

I'm so thrilled with my new shutters! The customer service at hill country blinds was awesome. I'm super particular and have a knack for details, and they surpassed my expectations. They paid attention to the details and made sure the installation was perfect and I couldn't be happier! Would recommend them hands down if you are looking for beautiful shutters or blinds to update any of your rooms! read more

My husband and I recently used Hill Country Blind Co. based on the strong reference of a friend -- and we were extremely pleased with their products and level of customer service. HCB Co. is a family-owned company, and they treat their customers extremely well. Their selection of Hunter Douglas blinds was outstanding, the turnaround time quick, and personalized service exceptional! We will certainly use them again for future projects. read more

Velma and crew are amazing. She was out next day with a sample for everything ( I had no idea what I wanted) She helped me narrow down choices and was wonderful in helping me choose the best option to fit my house and paint colors. The install was painless, quick and done right the first time. The pricing was also very fair. I actually got a higher quality item for less than the cost of Lowes and had the personal attention and design help. If you need window treatments please call on Velma first. read more

Hill Country Blinds came highly recommended from several of my neighbors, after careful review and research (3 different bids) I decided to move forward with Hill Country's quote. The service was prompt and the window technician was very courteous of my two Golden Retrievers. Over all, I would say my experience was good and I would use their service again. read more

We purchased a home a few years ago that did not have all the valences. We also wanted to put in a arc blind on the bay window in our living room to block sunlight during the evening and summer. It was glaring on our TV and into the kitchen. Bobby did an impeccable job installing the arc. His attention to detail was appreciated as did worked diligently to ensure arc was centered and we were happy with the final product. Bobby was very articulate to explain processes and how it worked. Velma was able to find the exact color of valence to match our mahogany brown blinds. Steffi has extraordinary customer service with scheduling the install, to ensuring cost was in our budget to confirming we were getting what we wanted. Overall, we are ecstatic to have a new arc blind in our living room and the house looks solid with valences on all the windows. Thank you Hill Country Blinds! :) read more

Wanted to have a good review so badly. They came highly recommended and were very sweet whenever I actually talked to anyone. However, it took 3 tries over the course of 5 weeks to get our simple shades measured, ordered, and installed correctly. And even upon completion, I'm still not totally happy. Everything was improperly measured, fitted, and installed. And if we hadn't pointed it out, they would have left oddly fitting shades on my windows. One didn't even roll up all the way and until we tested it, he was going to leave it knowing this. After the 2nd attempt to correct the issue, no one even contacted me to talk it through or apologize. Blame was constantly made instead of accountability taken. I now have holes in my window frames from all the attempts that will need to be filled and painted. I would not go with this company if I had a do over, unfortunately. I am out a few thousand dollars and it was not worth it. Could've probably done better on our own. Very unfortunate. read more

Living in downtown Austin, I had been researching various blind companies that provided a specific style I imagined for my home. I received a few quotes from places that were near my location, but they did not fit exactly what I was searching for within my price range. I thought I was taking a gamble when I stumbled across Hill Country Blinds as they were not as proximal to my home as I had desired, but I quickly realized that was not a factor in this decision. Velma and her son, Daniel, were more efficient at returning my call, scheduling appointment and showing up promptly than anyone else I had spoken with in the weeks previous. I immediately felt like I could trust Velma, as she provided genuine insight on what my space truly needed and for great price. From the first phone call to the final product, I can say that I am so thrilled with the results and outstanding customer service I received. Velma's experience in the field is extremely evident and I would recommend this company to anyone. Thank you for making my home better than imagined!! read more

My experience with Hill Country Blinds was top notch. Daniel came over for a consultation and helped us select perfect bamboo shades that we're going to look awesome and also be within our price range. Then, before I knew it they were here and installing! They we're incredibly sweet, efficient, and worked around a lot of renovation mess which we we're very grateful about. I love the blinds and will totally use HCB again. read more

My wife and I were recommended Hill Country Blinds through multiple friends when we purchased our first home. After comparing to a few other companies, we ultimately chose them to install our blinds given their excellent customer service and competitive pricing. We could not have been happier with the result. Not only did they provide high quality workmanship, but they were very timely and efficient in getting the job done, from assisting in blind selection to measuring and installing. Our home has several windows just below our 18 foot living room ceiling which they had no problem scaling and installing, not to mention the 30+ windows that we had covered throughout the rest of the house. We would recommend Hill Country Blinds to anyone looking for a family-run company who cares deeply about their customers and will provide exceptional service throughout the entire process. read more
