We had great work done by this company. Tim is an expert for any type of installation. He installed motorized blinds at my daughter's condo (the building has specific requirements) and he had experience installing there. He's also installed black out shades, wood blinds for other family members and has done exceptional work. He also does repairs and will make sure you're happy with the work. He is meticulous and does very high quality work, I highly recommend him. read more

I've had their blinds for years in my condo. They're fantastic. Tim Dobbins is responsive and very commercial.

Couldn't be more pleased! Jhet did a great job of walking us through the various options for shades and was able to get us exactly what we wanted more quickly than several other companies we considered. Jhet also was wonderful at staying in touch, letting us know that the shades got shipped (ahead of schedule!) and showed up to install them exactly when he said he would. I will highly recommend Variety Blinds and Shutters to my friends and family. read more

I requested a service/quote on Yelp, and Jhet responded immediately the same night. He called me the next morning during his time off (Holiday season), and gave me a very rough estimate over the phone, which was exactly what I was looking for. He was also able to schedule a site meeting/survey and said he could install temporary shades at the same time after the survey is complete. If it wasn't under the circumstances, I would've used Jhet's service because he was prompt, attentive, and has been in the business for awhile. read more

Michael did a wonderful job cleaning not only windows, but walkways, driveway and brick wall pillars around property! docks and cabana cleaner than ever. Love our new blinds! Jhet was great to work with. We set up a consultation right away and he explained all the options, colors and fabrics that were available. In the end we went with Graber Faux wood blinds throughout the house and they are awesome! read more

We love the shutters. Very efficient and courteous staff. Installers worked efficiently and left the place clean. No issues with scheduling and timelines. Highly recommend this business read more

Amazing work. Ask for the complete darkness package from hunter douglas that has the tracks on sides and bottoms. There is an extra charge for installation since Jhet manually cuts the tracks. This is the best by far for complete darkness, don't skimp on your sleep - hire Jhet and get the best! read more

I reached out for a quote so we ended up setting a time and date for an in person consultation. They aren't even professional enough to notify me that they couldn't make the scheduled appointment and I still haven't heard back from them. It was very easy to schedule a consultation but it's difficult to get a quote when they can't even show up. Very unprofessional! read more

We purchased a new construction home in San Marcos and needed window coverings. We contacted a few window covering businesses and Variety came back with the lowest quote. We went with Variety and am sure glad we did. Jhett went above and beyond all of our expectations and we couldn't be happier with our new shades. If I could I would give them more than 5 stars. read more

Completely Luxurious window coverings and outstanding service! Jhet presented many great options for our 12 foot high ceiling windows, which make this home and we didn't want to cover that up, as well as our other rooms, with product knowledge and professionalism. From our black out, top down bottom up blinds in main bedroom for restful sleep, to motorized minimalism for our living dining area ( which creates gorgeous window art), to serene tones of top down/ bottom up office area, zen 4-1/2 inch wood shutters in both the guest bedroom and the laundry. After owning several homes, Jhet's expertise and product delivery surpasses them all. Highly recommended!!! Thank you Jhet! read more

Jhet and his team did SUCH an amazing job on our shutters!! My husband and I absolutely LOVE them, they are so so beautiful!! The whole process was so straight forward and easy from start to finish. Jhet came over with some great samples and was very helpful in describing how everything would work and what all our options were. Once we made our choices, he came by and put up temporary shades for us while we waited for our shutters to come in. Once they were ready for install, they came in and had it done in less than 2 hours! So quick! :) I highly recommend Jhet and the team at Variety Blinds. It's amazing how shutters can totally transform your house!!! read more

Great, punctual and professional service! Jhet Brazil was super helpful in not only choosing the best, most appropriate blinds for our home, but he also helped save us a load of money!!! I Highly recommend Variety Blinds and Shutters! read more

We worked with Jhet Brazil on getting our entire new house outfitted with shades, and he delivered! My wife wanted this particular bamboo look to the shades, and Jhet took his time with us to go through all swatches and find the right fit. I felt their prices were reasonable, and the service was top notch. We've since added shades to doors, and Jhet was on it. When one wasn't rolling up quite right, he came out and fixed it. We are very happy with the quality, and with them as a company. Highly recommend. read more

Great company. Exceptional customer service. If you are looking for new window coverings for your home, look no further than Variety Blinds and Shutters. This locally owned owner-operated customer-centric business is Austin's best. No "call us back for an appointment with the assigned sales rep for your area" or "order fast online" bull. Tim sells a quality product at a competitive price with a totally positive attitude. If in the unlikely event any issues arise, Tim sees to them personally, promptly, and professionally. Variety is the best for any type of window covering period! read more

Jhet, the owner, was nothing short of fantastic. He came for a consultation, gave straightforward no nonsense advice, tips, and honest / fair pricing. He communicated options and timing and even did all the installs himself and made everything look amazing. He knows shades inside and out and I had him come back quite a few times to reorder more. 100% quality work, service, and character. Would recommend him and his business to anyone considering shades, blinds, or shutters. read more

I can't recommend variety blinds enough. Tim is an absolute sweetheart to work with. He is so kind and a stand-up guy who makes sure the job gets done diligently! Which after working with other companies is a breath of fresh air. The quality is incredible along with the services. read more

Jhett was wonderful. He listened to our ideas and found solutions for us. They scheduled super fast and the prices weee very competitive. I can't recommend this company enough read more

Variety Blinds did the installation for the entire new home. They took time to discuss the options, and scheduled a quick turn around on installation even with covid delays. We opted to go with blackout motorized blinds in the master (recommend!), which took a little longer. While we waited temporary blinds were installed for privacy. I decided i wanted to move on blind due to a weird set up with the modern house windows. Jhet came out a few days later to fix. I noticed the sliding door blinds started to "sag" a little. Jhet came out again in a couple days to identify the issue and fixed in roughly 10 minutes. Recommend! read more

Jhet does amazing work. Initially, he came out for the consult, took measurements, and walked us through samples. He was extremely courteous, took off his shoes, and wore a mask the entire time. After quickly ordering the shades, he provided frequent updates and then scheduled a single day for installation. On installation day, he worked quickly, organized everything for the room to be installed, neatly stacked the old shades in the garage, and finished within 5 hours. Again, he wore his mask the entire time, was very polite, and very efficient. I don't have that many more windows that need treatments, but I will certainly have Jhet out to do them when the time comes and will recommend him to friends and neighbors. His work was meticulous and the change to our house was a dramatic improvement. Highly recommended. For reference, the single photo of white shades is what Jhet removed and replaced with Hunter Douglas Woven Bamboo. read more

Tim was absolutely fantastic!! We installed blinds in three of our rooms and they made such a huge difference in the look and feel of the house. Also, Tim was a great person to work with. Super kind, very cordial and a pleasure to do business with. Hire them! read more

I didn't want to cover the view to the night sky (moon and stars), and I wanted top-down bottom-up, but the first window treatment company I called had impossibly expensive prices, and the next one said they didn't have TDBU blinds wide enough and asked would I mind a split down the middle (I would), then tried to sell me drapes or roller blinds. Even in my first phone call with Jhet, he knew he had top-down bottom-up blinds by Hunter-Douglas that would be wide enough. His prices were very reasonable. He's a great communicator, and he knows his products. He's intuitive and logical , noticing what you want, finding a solution. He'll say "I'm not a decorator," but in fact he does have a good eye for what's going to look right. You can't go wrong with this company. read more

Our experience could not have been any better. They did an excellent job measuring, and when the blinds were delivered they fit perfectly. The installation guys were amazing. A great job all the way around. Thank Jhet! read more

I bought a new house in South Austin, in September. It was my first home buying experience and I decided to go with a new construction home. One of the selling points of my new home was the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows in a couple of the rooms and the oversized, wall-to-wall windows in the bedrooms. When I was thinking, what a beautiful effect this created, I should have been thinking about how expensive and challenging these windows would be to cover. I spent over an hour on the phone with Blinds.com and almost 2 hours with Home Depot and walked away from both experiences feeling confused and frustrated. I was beginning to give up hope when a friend referred me to Variety Blinds. I called Jhett on a Saturday afternoon and he answered and was so pleasant and professional that even before we met, I started to feel much more relaxed about my window covering nightmare. We made an appointment for Jhett to come to my house and discuss options. He was on time and arrived with so many samples that he had to make multiple trips to his car to carry them all into the house. Jhett sat with me for what seemed like forever, patiently describing options and working with me to ensure that I had a pleasant experience and got exactly what I wanted. He was not your typical pushy salesperson. He really wanted to ensure that I was happy. He even down-sold me on blinds for the bedrooms, suggesting blinds that were of the same quality, but a lower cost than the blinds I was originally considering. Jhett was on-time at each appointment and was very flexible with the appointment times. After I made the decision to go with Variety Blinds for miniblinds, Jhett measured each window and put in the order. I ordered top-down, bottom-up cellular shades for the main rooms in the house and top-down, bottom-up roman shades for the dining room. I went with regular bottom-up cellular shades in the bedrooms. Jhett came out to install the blinds and at this point, it felt like I had a friend over! Installation was faster than I imagined and since he is so trustworthy, I was even able to take a conference call, while he was working throughout the house. It is now time to hang curtains and I will check with Jhett before going anywhere else for curtains. I would absolutely recommend Variety Blinds. This is a stand-up company that performs quality custom work at a competitive price. read more

This review is long overdue. Last February... And by last time I mean 2013 (looooong overdue)... I was in the market for new blinds for my house. After searching the inter-webs relentlessly I came across a Variety Blinds on Yelp. From the very first phone call, to the day the blinds were installed, it was a great experience. Jhet is a super nice guy and came prepared with a ton of options for me. He never tried to upsell me once. in fact, he actually suggested cheaper options of what I was looking for to save ME money. Gotta love that! The blinds came in sooner than expected and the install was quick and painless. At least for me at once. My battle was taking the original blinds down and leaving gigantic holes in the wall. :/ Now, the reason I'm writing this review a year and a half later is because I just had Jhet come back out to measure for blinds for the last window in my house. He showed up on time and was as nice as I had remembered him. He even made a comment about how he didn't see my dogs around. I cannot believe that after 18 months he remembered I had dogs. As a crazy dog lady, that made me think Jhet was even more awesome. This experience with the Variety Blinds was just as good as the first. I can't wait for my last thing to come in. I only wish that I had more blinds to put up in the house so that I could use them again! read more

Classy, Local, and AFFORDABLE! We have now used Variety Blinds in THREE of our houses. We were so happy with the quality installation, quality product, and quality service with the gorgeous 2' faux wood blinds throughout our cottage in southwest Austin we didn't even think twice when we needed a high end look at a low cost for our flip in south Austin. Jhet has an efficient demeanor with an eye for design and install finish that puts an OCD eye like mine at peace. We just recently had Jhet out for the third time at our newest property, and while I was at a loss of what to do with some tricky window situations, Jhet had the perfect solution that allowed for a very high finish at cost that came out to half of what we had expected. I appreciate that Jhet has demonstrated effective time management. Never wasting his time or yours with unnecessary pitches or add-ons. He gets to the point and gets the job done. I must mention again the classy demeanor at every encounter we have had. This, unfortunately, seems to be a rarity with any business these days. I have never once questioned my safety, or the safety of my home when having him in my home. This means a lot to feel peace when a contractor is in your home. Don't waste your time with anyone else when it comes to window coverings. Choose Variety Blinds and every time like we do. You will be very pleased! read more

Jhet and Variety Blinds did an outstanding job! I've used them twice now. I first used them for my modern roller blinds in a high rise condo which was an incredibly hard installation that Jhet made look easy. The second time they installed my wooden shades in a ranch house that look amazing. Jhet and the guys are friendly and professional. I shopped around for blinds and Variety had the best prices and customer service. Couldn't recommend more highly! read more

After consulting with three companies about Hunter Douglas roller shades, hands down, Jhet was the easiest and best to work with. He is competitive on pricing, knowledgeable about his products, and clearly takes pride in his work. I will call him first next time and can confidently recommend you do the same. (Some manufacturers are on lead times right now, so get your orders in with him early!) We ordered room darkening roller shades for the bedrooms that are Greenguard certified, safe for baby. No need to look elsewhere! read more

We worked with Jett at Variety a few years ago to install wood cordless blinds all over our house. They have been great and the quality is super high and a good value. Recently we had issues with 2 of the blinds and we were about to put our house on the market. Jett made an extra effort to install the fixes in time for our house showings. It was above and beyond and super nice. read more

Jhet was wonderful to work with. We had three representatives from different companies come to our house for consultations and felt that Jhet was not only the friendliest but by far the most knowledgeable regarding the shades and various options. We were looking for roller shades, some motorized and some not. While another company was offering a promotion on the same Hunter Douglas lite-rise shades (non-motorized) at a better price, we felt that Jhet was who we would prefer to work with. I simply sent Jhet an email about the pricing and he was able to match the pricing for us which gave us no hesitation about moving forward. Once we placed the deposit on the order Jhet even came by to install some temporary shades on our windows. When the order came in Jhet installed the shades himself in less than an hour. The service throughout the whole process was excellent and I feel confident things would be handled well should we encounter any problems. I highly recommend giving Jhet a call if you're looking for blinds for your home or business. read more

It was such a pleasure working with Tim! He is professional, prompt, and has a ton of affordable, good looking options. It took me months to decide on window treatment but he was patient and guided me along the way. He truly made this difficult process much easier and my wallet is grateful for it! I went with Graber cordless shades for my downstairs and the motorized option for my media room and my windows look amazing!! I couldn't be more satisfied with my entire experience and will be recommending him to anyone looking for window treatment. read more

Jhet and Marissa are a great couple who were very helpful through the entire process! The prices were more than fair and the service was great! I feel like I could call them if I need anything else or have any questions - great customer service and a definite small-town, family-business feel while still having very chic and modern products. Would definitely recommend (and have). read more

We purchased Graber Blinds, 2 1/2" width, from Tim and Variety Blinds. Tim quoted us on both shutters and blinds. We opted for new blinds due to the shutters possibly interfering with our new windows and their unique fold out design for cleaning them. Tim was very professional from start to finish. He has a nice demeanor and put us at ease for all of our options. Installation went flawless and they look great. I highly recommend Variety Blinds for fair prices and excellent installation and follow through. read more

We purchased the Hunter motorized silhouette shades in 2015 and they look just beautiful. We have been very happy with them, and Variety Blinds and Shutters are not only experienced and professional, they send someone right away if there are any questions or issues. Variety Blinds and Shutters provides the best Customer Service, Great Products at a reasonable price. I originally had 3 blinds replaced and after installation I decided to have 3 more replaced. On both occasions the measurements and installation was perfect. If you use a different vendor in the Austin area for window treatments you have made a BIG MISTAKE. My only regret is I don't have other windows that need his services. read more

I would 100% recommend Variety Blinds! Tim provided great customer service from consultation to installation. The blinds look great and the cordless upgrade is very nice. Couldn't have had a better experience! read more
