Goodness gracious--The Selene is absolutely precious! Their specialty seasonal drink, the Cherry Pie Iced Latte, was hands down one of the best I've had. I was so happy to finally stop by and check this place out. They offer window ordering, but because of the weather they kindly invited us inside, which was such a treat. The café is tucked inside a salon that is incredibly aesthetic and beautiful to look at. From the decor to the drinks to the service, everything was simply divine. The Selene was such a cute walk-up location with the kindest girl working the register. She was very welcoming and shared some favorite drinks. She easily talked me into the salted caramel apple latte as it had a flavored cold foam that was delicious. Let me just start by saying the service, people here are very attentive, gracious. Also love the concept of walk up window "coffee" shop. However, I really would love to see them make matcha their primary concept as opposed to coffee. I feel like their matcha drinks, made with house syrups, are done artfully. Top 2-3 in city, if not the best in a limited market for matcha. Though many coffee shops have matcha options, there is only one "primary" matcha concept at this point in time (recess in Kennedy King neighborhood). I think selene should be the second. The coffee scene in Indianapolis is surprisingly quite strong, batting above its weight. This shop's coffee drinks do not match up. I blame some/most of this for utilizing Hubbard and cravens (imo one of bottom tier roasters in city, despite being amongst oldest) for lack in quality. Many much better options for area roasters whether in close proximity (tinker, helm, Calvin fletchers, blue mind) or regionally (indie, hopscotch). The lack of average coffee keeps me from going full 5 stars here as name currently prioritizes coffee "the selene coffee and tea". I will certainly edit review to 5 stars if rebrands to primary matcha with "the selene matcha and coffee" or if coffee game improves. As a neighbor in the neighborhood, I appreciate them and want them to succeed, will continue to patronize for their wonderful matcha. Takeaway: If you live in indy or are visiting from out of town in search of top notch matcha drinks, highly recommend the selene. read more

I heard about this new coffee shop from Nicole Hernandez' article on IndyToday and wanted to check it out. Somehow I missed the fact that there's *no* indoor seating unless you're a patron of the hair salon or beauty parlour suites inside at OVA Lofts. All the same, I wanted my coffee and The Selene didn't disappoint in that regard. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. There's also a menu online, which is convenient. For a walk-up coffee bar, they had a solid range of options including hot and iced beverages, tea, and matcha. I got an iced cinnamon honey latte with oat milk, and they nailed it. My coworker and I to two of the four seats outside, and enjoyed the good May weather. Not sure how the walk-up concept will fare over time, but it's probably a great experience for the patrons inside. Time to go get an updo? read more

This is the best coffee spot in Indy! The staff is SO friendly and inviting. They really make sure you know what you're getting g and make sure you like it. It's a walk up window which has the cutest vibes! They host seasonal coffee tasting events that are my FAVORITE thing ever. First of all the ladies at the Selene are absolutely friendly and truly go above and beyond to provide the best customer experience. Today I got a drink off of their new holiday menu for valentine's Day, an iced biscoff latte. It was absolutely delicious, super high quality coffee with the beat creamy flavor it also wasn't super over sweet which I love a good balanced coffee. The building is also very aesthetically pleasing. I love the fact I can just walk up and grab a coffee from there garage door. Keep up the great work ladies. My new pick me up spot!! read more

This cute little walk-up in fountain square was the absolute perfect place for my friend and I to meet up this morning for a girl date! A limited, but stellar and delicious drink menu proved the perfect way to start the day! The sweet human at the counter was so helpful and told us all about how this little place got its start in March of this year.
