Had to check out the local German restaurant- I will say the service was good, they were really friendly and attentive, and the vibe is really chill. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars, which was super cool to see. Being German and loving traditional German dishes, I was super excited to find this place. I will say, it wasn't bad, and different parts of Germany cook differently. Overall we thought it was okay. The prices are kinda high (IMO) which is why I gave it the 3 stars. We ordered the mega pretzel which we felt was tasty, but I wouldn't order it again just because of the price point- and my teens ordered different schnitzel plates and I ordered the Frankfurter plate. I will say they have enough on the menu, and if I went back I would try something else, but overall just a little underwhelmed. Nothing horrible, and if you are in the area or want a fun little experience, definitely go check it out- I also don't drink beer, but of course they have a large menu and serve in glass steins. read more

Very nice German restaurant in Eagle, tucked away in a business center. Gasthaus decor with an outdoor Biergarten. We visited on Saturday at about noon, and dined Al Fresco in the Garten. The food is very good, one of the better German places we've eaten in the U.S., and we spent many years in Germany. The squeeze and I shared the Zigeunerschnitzel and the single wurst dish. I love the sauce on the Gypsy style schnitzel, all time fave. Personally, I think the sauce needs a touch of cayenne to give it a little spice. Still very good, and the taste authentic. We got it with fries, which were very good. The single brat was smoked and came with sauerkraut and spaetzle, all three of which were tasty. I had a half liter of the Hefeweizen, a yeasty wheat beer that's great on a hot day. It has hints of clove and banana. If you have never had one, you can get a free taste of it. Great service too! Now I was sorely missing the raisins in the apple strudel, but I guess their new pastry chef isn't as big a fan of raisins as I am... but I'm gluten free so I only get a smidge of a bite of the strudel as it is... if u order just know it may not be loaded w/raisins as in the past. (Their Turkish Baker retired; Rumor has it that the new in town but already has following "European Smak" pastry chef will help fill in that opening.) I must not let do much time go by between visits! Highly recommend whole menu, good for small & large groups. We were visiting from out of town and thought this spot seemed like a unique experience. They had live music which I think was a great addition. However, the service ruined a big portion of our dinning experience. I did not get our waiters name but he was very negligent which was disappointing since a lot of the dinning out experience comes from your interactions from the staff. I have never had to walk my check up to the waiter in order to pay before but we were running late despite coming here hours before our planned event. The food was mediocre especially for the price and the pretzel seemed frozen previously. Hopefully everyone else's experience was/will be better than ours. read more

We tried this place last week - I've seen numerous posts on instagram recently, and it held up to the good billing. We got in easily on a Sunday without a reservation, and the place filled up quickly. The beer is good, and the food is great. Had the Jager Schnitzel and it was awesome. I wasn't crazy about the spetzil - would have had sauerkraut but , believe it or not, they were out!! Service was good, I just wish our pretzel (appetizer) would have come out while we were enjoying our beer and not with dinner. The server was nice enough to let us sample the warm potato salad too. We came in for an early dinner with our family. We were promptly seated and given waters. My husband had a couple tasters of some German beers before ordering. We had the hunters style schnitzel and the beer sauce one. I had the cucumber salad which was very light and tasty. Sorta like milky pickles but in a refreshing way. My kids loved their brats, fries and spatzel. Unfortunately it was very quiet in there but as we were leaving more people were coming. The garden outside looks really nice. We received a gift card from a friend so we went to lunch with our good friends. The service was amazing. We were greeted with smiles from our server as well as the owner. It was a beautiful day so we opted to eat out on the patio. First thing we did was got water from the ice cold water station. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders immediately. I stuck with water but my husband and one of our friends had a Hefeweizen. The other one had a traditional German wine. They all loved their choices. We finally decided on what to order to eat. It wasn't an easy decision, every thing looked delicious. My husband and I split the Zigeuner (Gypsy style) schnitzel with creamy red bell pepper sauce. We ordered fries as our side. The schnitzel was huge! Certainly enough for 2, probably 4 people! We also ordered the small sausage plate. We got a smoked brat wurst that came with sauerkraut and one more side. We ordered the spatzle. Every single bite was delicious! As an unexpected bonus, there was a parade going on right next to the restaurant. Fun, fun and more fun. My husband and I lived in Germany and this is the best and most authentic German food we've had since returning to the states. read more

This place was extraordinary. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and plated well. The portions are pretty large, so if you don't tend to eat a lot- share with a friend! Our waiter was also the manager and he was very attentive and asked for our feedback on our food and service. He helped with the food that night too and was clearly very proud of that- as he should be. This was the best schnitzel I've ever had, hands down. I highly recommend getting the sauce sampler with whatever you get. All sauces were great, but my favorites were the lingonberry and bell pepper sauces. We've eaten here a couple of times now and we definitely enjoy it. Great beer selection and most of the dishes we've tried are really good. The Hax'n was not bad but nothing like what I'm used to in Bavaria, so I'd probably pass on that but the Schnitzel variants, especially the Jägerschnitzel and the Wiener Schnitzel are very solid. I also enjoyed the Currywurst but the price for what is a cheap street food in Berlin prevents me from ordering it again. The pretzel is excellent and the stroganoff stellar. We've never tried any desserts there but one of these days... If I could change one thing in particular that isn't related to the quality of the food, it's the use of the umlaut in the the word "Wurst" on the menu. There's no umlaut in Wurst, only in "Würste" which is the plural form of Wurst. It drives me nuts every time I look at that menu lol read more
