Turkish Coffee Chicken panini
Jane Z.

This place is a hidden gem It's behind a Turkish(I think) store, lots of sandwiches selections, I tried the Turkish coffee(or Cappuccino I can't remember) but it's delicious. The chicken pesto panini was the best one I had for a while, will definitely try it again next time. Don't forget to check out the store, very unique selection of stuff.

Good variety of sandwiches. It's a one man show, so have patience for the kind owner. Got the house panini which is their best seller, and they don't skimp on the meat. Loaded with meat and tasty mayo. The bread is toasted but it's not as toasted as I would expect, but overall the sandwich is tasty and there is a large variety of flavors.

What a little nice surprise in Boise! My sister, dad, and I were curious about the little shop and decided to take a peek inside. I was shocked to see rows of food and snacks that I had only seen in Europe when studying abroad. My dad also was pleased to see that they carried French biscuits that he hadn't eaten in years, and he promptly bought a pack. The Bosnian woman who was working the cashier was very kind helpful. In the back is the dining and bar area, which was much bigger than we were expecting! We decided to try one of their gyros out and were very satisfied with how it tasted. The ratio of lamb, veggies, and tzatziki was perfect, and the bread that they used was so unique and delicious. I'd love to try some of their other dishes there another time!

House Panini

Impressed by the service and food. The House Panini was unlike any that I've had. It had turkey, prosciutto, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, red pepper, and some homemade sauce nicely tucked between two slices of heavenly white bread. I'm not sure if the bake or buy the bread, but it was delicious and was what made this panini spectacular The staff kindly greeted me and made sure that I was being helped; I felt very welcome.

Pastrami. Very yummy!

This place was a great surprise. We searched out "Mediterranean" on Yelp, and this place came up. We didn't read any reviews, and just decided to try it, and I'm glad we did. The entrance seemed a bit strange, and when we walked in, I wasn't expecting the "Wine-bar" setting. That, and we were the only people in the entire establishment, I was wondering if we were in the right place. But soon the hostess/waitress/(owner?) came out and told us to take a table anywhere. Then immediately, other people started to flow in who looked like regulars, and as soon as we started looking through the menu, I knew things were going to be just fine. I ordered the Lamb and Beef Gyro, and my wife ordered a Pastrami sandwich. Both were wonderful! I'll take Gyro's over Pastrami any day, but when my wife let me taste her sandwich, I think she got the better deal. It was delicious. After dinner, we toured the store in the front, with lots of diverse things from Eastern Europe that you don't find at Winco or Fred Meyer. Of course, we had to pick up some chocolate and some cookies, which were delicious. The store and restaurant are apparently run together, and the woman who waited on us was super friendly. I think we'll definitely be back, because there were other sandwiches on the menu that looked delicious too, and I love trying new things. [ Do you ever wonder... Why are there 5 syllables in the word "monosyllabic"? ]

Lamb and Beef Gyro

Gyros in the Balkans! This is a great causal dining experience with Bosnian sandwiches served on the quick. Friendly staff and a clean if eclectic ambiance await customers. Don't let the strip mall feel put your off. In fact, the collection of restaurants at the intersection of Emerald and Orchard holds great gems for food destinations. My beef and lamb gyro was served with a bag of potato chips. I got the special and it came with a fountain drink. The gyro was served on a bread different than most pita. Not sure what it's called but I'll have to ask next time. The portion was sizable. I saved half of it for another lunch. The sauce was sort of tzakiki-like, but heavier, almost mayo-based. I like a zestier dill taste. Good stop for lunch. Server was nice but not especially attentive. But they make up for it with tasty food and plenty of smiles.

Turkey bacon sandwich - thick Turkey!!

Love this place !!! (kinda) a hidden gem. Boise local and this had been around since I was a young lad. Got a new fancy facelift for the bar behind the authentic Bosnian food store! But still the same small local - quality - feeling, I am sure that propelled sales for the remodel. (Compared to like 5yrs ago when I last came through ) Love to see them thrive. Amazing lunch sandwiches and usually not crazy busy in the 9-5. Cant say enough good things. Please eat here so I can keep eating here for many years :)! I have hosteled around many countries, Add this to the TripAdvisor this place doesn't get enough cred in my opinion!

House special panini

Only came in to grab some lunch, but did browse around the store to see what they sell. The owner (I think, or maybe it was the owner's wife) was nice and had the I'm-not-afraid-to-kick-you-out-of-the-store-if-i-want-to personality, it seems. Got their house panini which was loaded a lot of different meats. Prosciutto, pastrami, salami and I think a couple more. With some avocado, cheese, tomato, bell pepper, lettuce. Big portion, good bread. Really worth what you're paying for. Store seems like a very 80's type store. Not that it was themed that way, just not updated, but cute and small town feel.

Fantastic! Here's this tiny, adorable little Russian cafe just doing their thing. And, it's…read morecomforting, warm, and inviting. We were warmly greeted upon entering and enticed by their very intriguing menu. We ordered a Hibiscus Tea to start with, which was sweetened with honey, and just lovely. For lunch, we had the infamous Pelmeni and I couldn't get enough! Order with broth and don't forget to dip these little dumplings in sour cream. We also got the Lamb Plof...served up hot, full of comfy vibes, and loaded with flavor!! Honestly, based on our experience, you can't go wrong here. Haven't tried real Russian food, made from scratch, yet? You're missing out!!! Going back for that Stroganoff...

Went there to eat recently with wife and grandson as were a bit disappointed truthfully, especially…read moreafter Guy's glowing review on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The Pelmani were on the bland side, I'm not sure they could be described as flavorful. The Lamb Plof, technically an Uzbek disk not Russian, was sadly lacking in an essential ingredient, lamb. There were very few pieces in the dish, five to be exact, and they were overcooked, tough and flavorless. I could never have identified them as being lamb if I hadn't know what they were supposed to be. I wanted to try the stroganoff, but was informed that I could not get it with boiled potatoes, the traditional Eastern European and Russian way. Instead I was told I could have egg noodles, seasoned rice or buckwheat. Buckwheat is a traditional accompaniment, but not a favorite of mine, and while rice is used in some traditional Russian dishes its not extremely common, especially with stroganoff. Egg noodles typically are not considered a traditional side in Russian cuisine. I ultimately decided on the vareniki, which we all decided was actually the best dish of the evening. The filling of potato and mushroom was perfect and have excellent flavor. The only downside to the dish was the dumpling dough was a little underdone, and could have been cooked another minute or two. Still, with the butter and sour cream and the excellent filling, they were the highlight of the evening. All restaurants have an off night, just a fact of life. Based on the vareniki we will give Alyoka's another shot one night. I'd love to try the stroganoff, but I'd prefer it the traditional Eastern European way, not the Americanized way. I would love to see solyanka and morozhenoe added to the menu.
