Another highlight is their soup no matter the day, their soup is consistently flavorful, fresh, and delicious. For drinks, their Hefeweizen is standard-setting for beer lovers and my fiancé's go to. I personally go for the reasoning every time I visit sometimes it's one glass sometimes it's a bottle lol if relaxing a while with a book in the afternoon for us to split. The only issue here is the seating inside is very small. But we sat outside and had very good weather that day. The server and bartender were extremely kind. We got the bratwurst plate 2 brats and a side and one as a regular brat with a bun and a side. And both were extremely great. The potato salad was amazing. Their beer selection is great and also tasted fresh and not like an old keg where it's flat and bland. The people drinking were very friendly too and even got invited to drink from the beer boot! The workers are so mean! TALK ABOUT A BUZZ KILL. As soon as my group walked in they gave us much attitude. I can understand if they are busy or understaffed but this was just people being straight up rude. Go here if you want to talk to workers that don't want give you anything and then expect a tip. It completely killed the vibe for the night we left before even ordering (we tried 3 times). We came here last year and it was just as bad if not worse. With a couple of hours to kill in downtown Boise a nice beer sounded good. The selection of German draft beers was inviting too so I checked it out. I ordered a liter of Schneider Weiße Helles and a Currywurst. Not a typical combo in Germany - beer from Bavaria and fast food from Berlin but it worked. The beer was good and fresh. We stopped in for a drink and dinner (we didn't look at the menu prior so that was our fault) we didn't realize until we sat down it's not really a restaurant and just more of a bar with German bar food. Which is great don't get me wrong. Just wasn't what we were looking for. We have been to Germany quite a few times. We ordered a traditional German drink. Bitburger and sprite. And the server looked at us like we were nuts and kept questioning us. Overall the server wasn't very friendly or attentive. We had to get up to get him a few times. Anyhow the beer was great, the food looked great, just not the best service or knowledge of German Beer drinks for a German pub. Pro-tip: The restaurant is really small and the tables are first come first serve so it's all a waiting game. It's very niche so you really should be here for the beer, the German vibe, or German food. If you're not crazy about even one of these three things, probably not the right place for you. This place has many varieties of German beers. I had the Weihenstephaner Dunkel Weisse. I only wish they had schnitzel. I've been here several times and the food doesn't disappoint, what with the tiny kitchen area. I had the pastrami and havarti sandwich on rye. A decent amount of meat, topped with sauerkraut, onions, aioli and really good mustard on some bitchin' rye bread. The German warm potato salad was a great side. Oooh! I love Prost! Anytime I have friends or family visit from out of town this is where we start. The pretzel is perfectly salted and buttery, the cheese is top notch (nothing I've ever tasted before), and I am not much of a beer drinker and their grapefruit beer is HEAVENLY. If you don't like beer TRY THIS BEER it's the grapefruit one at the top of the menu (it'll turn you into a beer drinker). I love their cozy patio, service is always prompt and friendly. The boot beer! This place is def fun! Great atmosphere. Came in with a group of friends & we all decided to do the boot beer which you pass around and someone has to be constantly drinking out of the boot if you stop you lose but I'm unsure what you lose or win since the main focus at the time was we need to win!
