Really enjoyed the sandwich and the location. It's in a tight strip mall with only two parking spots out front, but plenty on the other side of the lot. I guess you could probably eat before they tow you, but I didn't want to chance it. I had the Pecan, Chicken Salad wrap and enjoyed it. It was also ginormous. I could only eat half before giving up. Unfortunately this sandwich shop is not the same as when they first opened. I love me a good local store but they have to be able to compete with the chains. We ordered our food online, picked it up and took it back to our work. Avocado is pretty much extra wherever you go, and this was no exception. We added avocado to several of our sandwiches (we were charged for it of course) but did not receive the avocado on any of those sandwiches. One of the soups has bread in it, the bread had mold. So happy to know this place exists. There was plenty of parking (private lot) outside, the inside was super clean, and the ladies at the counter were lovely! It wasn't busy, like I was expecting, so I hope they get the word out that they have breakfast. They have a pretty extensive menu, plus some pastries and sides. I got a very modified breakfast sandwich (Turkey, egg, & avocado on a croissant with a side of chipotle aioli) and a coffee to go. It was really good and I'll definitely be ordering from here again. If you like paninis, you'll LOVE The Sandwich Shop! Thank goodness this place exists, because I was beginning to think there were no good sandwich specialty stores in El Paso. THE Sandwich Shop delivered. They take their time to create a truly yummy sammie. I could actually enjoy the chicken pieces inside the Spicy Chicken hot sandwich! It wasn't just rubbery chunks masked in a sauce. I loved the Turkey melt hot sandwich as well, because the bacon added a nice crunch, and I didnt't fee like I was chewing pure nitrates. This is a great deli that can be described with one word: fresh. The pasta salad was amazing! Creamy but full of flavor, and didn't taste like it had been sitting there all day. The restaurant as a whole is casual and clean. I wish I lived closer! I need to come back to try the cold sandwiches, but I am sure they will be great if they are made with the same TLC as the paninis. I wish this place was located near the medical center because I know that doctors, nurses, and med students would all rush over here for a quick, quality sandwich, since we are so sick of Subway! Kind of torn about how i feel about this place. On one side, super delicious and fresh flavors for everything i ordered... on the other side, i legit felt robbed. Upon doing research on the place prior to coming, i have seen pictures of the place from folks who have already dined here. The trays were full and the portions of food for their prices were justified... until today with my food. I ordered twice today for lunch and dinner which i planned on eating later on. I got the half sandwich combo with soup and side. Not sure if the pictures from before was not a combo meal, but that side salad was at least double what i got. Perhapsbtheir menu options have changed since then but ultimately, even without comparing the 2, just overlooking my tray seemed disappointing for 11$. I suppose the quality of flavors and fresh aspect to it is what we're paying for. I also got the Pokebowl salad for dinner later. Boy was that surprisingly small for 11$. The girl who took my order reassured me that it was quite filling because of the rice... i for one was still hungry but what i can give them credit for was how much salmon and tuna was included. Quite a good amount of fish and delicious flavor. However, i still couldnt shake off the feeling of getting a better pokebowl elsewhere. Overall, i would say that its an ok place for lunch if you're in the area, especially for the high school nearby. I think the best deal they had was the 2 for $1 cookies which are very good. I was so excited to try this place. I just love sandwiches and restaurants that serve healthy meals. The shop was clean, and staff was kind. I ordered a veggie wrap over the phone and it was ready in less than 15 min. You get to customize your wrap to your liking. You choose Half or full portion, garlic or chipotle tortilla wrap and your choice of dressing plus a side. There's too many dressing options for me to remember, but after tasting a few options I went with sesame ginger. So good! Reminded me of Healthy Bites salad dressing, which I'm obsessed with! And for my side I went with lays chips but options include salad, soup or potato salad I believe. I thought prices were reasonable considering how well served this came. Don't let the name fool you, this place makes sandwiches and sells them for profit, a sort of Sandwich Shop, if you will, and my experience here was pretty good. I had the bacon grilled cheese sandwich with a side salad and tomato basil soup, all of which were pretty tasty and it was definitely a fulfilling meal. Sandwich Shop is a tad pricier than your average Subway, but they are definitely higher quality. My GPS told me to drive west on Montwood and make a u-turn on Wedgewood. Fortunately there was a break in the island which crosses right into the parking lot. Inside, the shop is small, but very clean and it felt cozy. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and gave me a menu to study, since this was my first time there. I settled on The Trooper, a cold sandwich. I chose toasted rye bread, 3 meats and no cheese. I ordered a small mango smoothie, all to go. I sat to wait for my order and a woman asked if I wanted something to drink while I was waiting. Before I could respond my order was being delivered. I found a quiet, shady spot and opened the bag. Did I say I was starving? I took one swig of the smoothie and instantly regretted not having ordered the large size. The smoothie was delicious and the chunks of mango, perfection! On to the sandwich. Did I mention I was starving? The packaging was beautiful. I almost did not want to open it up, but...The rye bread, though not toasted as much as I would have liked was wonderful. Nice and fresh. The tomatoes and lettuce were also very fresh. It was creamy and the flavors were different from the potato salads were used to which we really enjoyed. I wasn't too impressed with the poke. The fish was fresh but the dressing was a little overpowering for me. Even with mixing it with all the rice and veggies the sesame oil flavor was too strong for my liking. I've been searching for poke in El Paso for the last year and I've finally found it! The food here seems very fresh and they make the poke bowl bursting of flavor. The guy who took my order was extremely friendly and helpful. I also purchased the half sandwich called "Mamma Mia". It was very good, but quite pricey for the size and amount of meat they use. The Mamma Mia comes with salami, pepperoni, mozzarella and some type of Italian dressing (and they use a panini grill to heat). The sandwich was really thin, but delicious. A half sandwich here is not like a usual half sandwich ordered from a deli. This didn't fill me up at all. I probably won't get that again but I'll definitely be back for the Poke bowl. The Poke bowl comes with fresh cut Ahi Tuna, lettuce, quinoa, rice, avocado, seaweed, sesame seeds and the poke dressing. They add a lot of the poke dressing so don't be afraid to say "light" on the dressing. But overall the Poke bowl was delicious. They also sell items such as- hot and cold sandwiches, acai bowls, nutella sandwiches, pb & j, and a bunch of healthy smoothies. They also have a smoothie happy hour. So, experiencing "The Sandwich Shop" through UberEats for the first time, wasn't the greatest idea. I ended up ordering the Turkey Melt and the Poke Bowl. The Turkey melt was something that I don't think I'd ever go for in a regular situation because I do not usually go for sandwiches. Though, I am definitely glad I did! The flavors blend well, and the chipotle adds a nice kick to it. Very Good! Now, the poke bowl I will have to give another try but this time at the restaurant because I think the time that the tuna sat was what made me question my love for tuna. At the end of the day, I would highly recommend this place to any sandwich lover with the only exception that they would need to dine in rather than ordering it through UberEats. read more
