I am so grateful for small businesses that provide healthy options when I am traveling. I walked in 40 min before closing and was a little uncomfortable so close to the end of their day. I could not have been welcomed and even envied to stay and no need for carry-out which I elected to do. A nice welcoming space with aged wooden tables and soft music in the air. I choose the Turkey Panni that comes with a small salad, a smoothie, egg sandwich ( even at 1530 ) and a slice of HM Banana Bread. read more

Such a gem tucked inside a charming old building downtown. The woman at the counter mentioned they've been in business for over 15 years and was proud to mention her daughter's involvement too-- you can feel that history in the space. I had a fresh beet juice and a salad with blueberries and Granny Smith apples (the dream combo). They've got smoothies, paninis, wraps, and a few bakery treats -- all on the lighter, healthier side. The outdoor seating adds that easy downtown café vibe. Definitely an awesome little staple I'd come back to. read more

I finally visited this spot and I could not have been happier. The location is downtown, close to the Placita, easily walkable. Once inside the menu consists of salads, sandwiches, and paninis. They have smoothies and homemade fruit juices that are very healthy. I opted for one of three infused water drinks, just behind the register. Not on the menu that I saw however, was the soup I ordered. I noticed a man had ordered it - tortilla soup. My favorite! The service was friendly and quick. The food has a homemade taste and feel, and the pricing is affordable. My large tortilla soup and infused water was under $8. To to it off, it's a local, female owned business! I have a feeling this will be a regular. read more

Loved this place! It was cute, clean, and quick! The food was delicious, I had the tomato, Mozzarella, spinach panini with basil aioli and it hit the spot! It was served with a fresh mixed green salad topped with carrots and cucumbers and a delicious sweet and spicy dressing. I also tried the Aloha smoothie who's was very yummy. My husband tried the chicken salad open-faced sandwich which he really loved and it also came with the same salad. He tried the sunrise smoothie which he also really enjoyed. And the price-point was very reasonable for the portion sizes as well as the locality of the restaurant. If you want something light that doesn't skimp on flavor, this is a great place to go! PS--also LOVED the bread. Appreciated that the default is a whole-wheat, whole-grain (delicious!) bread. read more

This establishment was absolutely adorable! The ambiance was very charming and I was greeted by a very amiable woman. They had plenty of choices to pick from at affordable prices. There was outdoor & indoor seating. When my food came out, it was paired with a delicious salad. I went here for breakfast and had the avocado toast and a fruit bowl. The avocado toast was served on what looked like a whole wheat flatbread, and had a lot of avocado on it which I loved! The fruit bowl had honey and granola on it and was amazing! Lots of indoor seating available, coffee bar with tea as well. Nothing too fancy but a great option if your looking for a healthier way to eat out! read more

Panninis of chicken and pesto are to die for, they are delicious! Plus, the salad with homemade dressing with orange flavor and ajojonli, the enviroment is excellent too. I really love this place and I could eat there as often as I want because it is guilty free meals. The price is so good that I cant believe that something as delicious could be at that great price! It's so easy to eat healthy downtown! I hadn't had Healthy Bite in a long time but the quality and taste did not disappoint. Working downtown I appreciate walking to lunch and it helps I eat at 11:30. The line was small and the wait for food was small. The food? Chefs kiss! Fresh, clean and great portions. They also offer infused water ( I got pineapple/ginger) which is very refreshing. The prices are very reasonable and they take card and cash. The staff is super friendly and attentive as well. I love the esthetics of this place although you my have some trouble parking do to the small space you have for your vehicle on the street. I found it useful to park in the alley almost next to it. Now to what we all go for...the food. The options are not as much as other restaurants but it's a sign that what they do, they do it good. My favorite is the Humus Wrap. Which could be a bit small for my likings. What they don't hold back on its on taste. Every bite was as good as the previous one. The side mini salad that you get with most orders (if not all) is delicious. The dressing that they add is worthy of Mount Olympus. You can also just call in in advance to order your food and just pick it up. Definitely will keep coming back! read more

The Queen herself (Patricia D.), recommended Healthy Bite to me and I'm entirely in her debt. I had a lovely early lunch here, albeit a little messy (but I knew what I was getting into ordering a gyro). I can't wait to go back to try more sandwiches, smoothies, juices, and even soup. I had a little bit of a mix up and originally went to their old location, but once I figured it all out, I headed down the street to this new location. Just off of my brief look at the old location, I think they're in a much better place with more pedestrian traffic and possibly more dining space. Like I said, I ordered the gyro and also a smoothie. I don't recall what smoothie I actually ordered, but it was really good and I finished it quickly. My gyro was a lighter gyro with delicious shaved meat, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki. I really enjoyed it and with the side salad, this was the perfect portion for me. HB has a quirky style and even though some aspects of it seem very hip, I wouldn't describe it as hipster. The environment is very "downtown professional" friendly. If I could only describe the decor in one word, I'd say "fresh". Light colored walls, an astroturf backdrop, smiling faces, a DIY pipe rack that holds a herb garden... it speaks to my heart. The next time I'm downtown, I'll be at HB to eat. Right now (to the best of my knowledge) HB is only open during the week. You don't have to be health conscious to enjoy their food or their smoothies and they're great for adults and kids alike. read more

I was so impressed with the staff, first off. They explained the menu options and were helpful after I explained that it was my first visit. After much deliberation and discussion with the woman behind the counter, I took her up on the recommendation of the Greek salad with a protein choice of smoked salmon. I LOVE that the salmon was an option! It's so amazing delicious. The portion size was staggering but when I finished, I wasn't uncomfortably full. The perks of eating salads... Considering that everything was fresh and large, my bill was smaller than I expected. Another perk! The restaurant itself is small, super cute yet casual. And once the lunch crowd came in it got crowded -- but the noise level was such that we could still hold a conversation without yelling. I definitely want to go back! read more

Took my mom and kids here after hiking the palisades trail. We wanted something new and healthy to eat. Yelped some places and ended up choosing this cute place. We ordered a Greek salad, a gyro, a smoothie and pb&j. Everything was so good! And reasonably priced too! I ate my entire meal. I've been dying for a gyro too which was a special surprise to see it on the menu. The women who work there were so kind too :) We'll be back for sure read more

I've been recommended this place by a few friends so I gave it a try today. Ordered a Greek salad and I was disappointed with the chicken - it was over cooked and dry. They're very busy and islow to serve. December 2019 update. My friend convinced me to visit here again and welp I'll say this the breakfast sandwich was pretty good. However, while we waited for our to-go items I notice the ladies prepping an order drop veggies on the floor and one of them, who's wearing gloves, reaches down to the floor to pickup the veggies and put them in the trash. She then proceeded to finish making sandwiches. No she didn't change her gloves at any point. Gross read more

This place is amazing! What a great find! It's located downtown, easily walkable from my hotel. Beware that it's a small space with not a lot of seating, but we didn't have a problem. We showed up around 1 for lunch and there was a long line...a good sign. You order from the counter, get a number, then someone brings your food. The menu consists of soups, salad, sandwiches, and panini. Each sandwich and panini comes with a house salad as the side. Prices are extremely reasonable and staff is super friendly. I settled on the SAM sandwich, which was smoked salmon sandwich, and my coworker ordered the gyro. Food came out pretty quickly and was delicious!!! The house salad had mixed greens and was tipped by a yummy Asian dressing. The salmon sandwich was real smoked salmon! Clearly not from a can. My coworkers gyro also looked super tasty. My Greek salad was good. The place is fairly small but central to everything in the downtown area. Didn't seem too busy when I stopped by but waited almost 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Overall it was fine for a quick bite if you have time to spare. read more

Just our second visit here and I feel like family. They greeted me and said welcome back. I guess I have a mask that is very familiar. This little jewel in downtown ElPaso is very reasonable and the food is excellent. I highly recommend it over any of the hotel restaurants for breakfast or lunch. read more

I was In a rush to get lunch and called my order. They added sesame seeds on my salad and I'm allergic so I ended up spending 10 bucks and not eating anything. Not happy. Be sure to put all of the ingredients on your menu for people who have allergies. read more

I'm officially obsessed. This isn't only good when you're trying to eat healthy but also amazing when you just want something real and delicious. I went in on a whim and I'm so happy I did!! I was looking for something healthy considering how I have been eating the past few week... Lol anyway! I ordered the Regina salad and a tortilla soup and both were so good! I cleaned both plates... The paninis all sounded amazing! The only down side is that they do run out of things so you should go in earlier, I went in around 3 and they close at 4:00! The service was amazing. I think subconsciously I walked passed this place over the months because the word 'healthy' usually equates to not being that tasty. Ignoring the fact that the place is packed and there's usually people waiting outside. Cognitive dissonance! The aloha smoothie and santi panini was the bomb dot com!! I also love that it's a family owned shop and the owner has her mom and daughter working here. It was pretty cute I must admit. Must try if you're downtown for breakfast and lunch ! read more

Healthy Bite is my go-to healthy alternative downtown. Really anything on their menu is delicious. The paninis, the salads, and the soups are all equally delicious. My go to option is the Greek salad with chicken and a tortilla soup. The service is also wonderful, the owner is the one that's usually taking the orders and she's very accommodating. They do pick up or delivery, but if you want delivery make sure you order 20 minutes ahead, since the lunch crowd gets very busy. read more

And this aspirin, cough drop, Theraflu regimen wasn't cutting it so as soon as my boyfriend got home, I coaxed him into driving me to Mom's Fresh Juice Co. Luckily for him, they just opened this new location and it happens to be super close to our house so it not only saved us some gas, but also potentially saved us some dough since we didn't have to find parking in the Downtown area. This new location is much smaller. Like 150 square feet, small. It's not a kitchen like the other location, but it's just as fantastic. The thing I like the most about this location is you're able to peruse the fridge yourself and decide on a flavor. I didn't see a menu that describes each drink available, but there may be some literature on all that on the counter that I missed. But if you're really not familiar with their different flavors you can always consult with the person working and they'll make a recommendation based on what you say you like. If they don't have a pamphlet available, I really hope they add that because a lot of their juices have added benefits that may be of interest to customers (like the Charcoal Lemon helps remove toxins and the Gold Milk is great for reducing inflammation and fighting cold/flu symptoms). The real reason why I wanted to go to Mom's is because I know how I feel after I drink anything from Mom's... I just needed some of that light at the end of the tunnel during this horrible sickness. And my body craves a lot of more natural ingredients when I'm not feeling so hot. I went in with a mission... I came for the Gold Milk and the TLC. At the other location, in my experience, they tend to run out of the Gold Milk before the end of the day, but since this is a newer location and they have a pretty good stock, I was happy to see that they had about three Gold Milk's left. My boyfriend gave me a sideways look of bewilderment when he heard the total. Mom's Fresh Juice is like $8.50 a bottle. But it's cold pressed and it's a specialty item so to me that's a reasonable price. The Gold Milk was perfect for what I needed at the moment and I devoured it within minutes. It's just very smooth with a touch of sweet, almond taste. And it's a thinner milk which makes it easier to swallow when your throat is sore. The TLC I saved for later, but after drinking the Gold Milk I did start feeling a little better and I think that was exactly what my body needed to get a little boost. The TLC is spicy and sweet and I will only ever drink this when I'm sick or to cook with. Strangely enough the heat really did help with symptoms so I sipped on that one for quite a while. Mom's Fresh Juice isn't just for when your sick. It could definitely be an every day kind of thing, they have juice cleanses, and each juice has it's own unique health benefits. If you're not sure where to start when it comes to juicing, consult with the experts at Mom's.

Their juices are not only made fresh BUT you actually see them juicing the fruits and veggies for your drink on the spot. NOW that's damn impressive. There's a few spots I know that do a bit at a time but doing it on a drink-by-drink basis was surreal. My juices here both days were consistent and some of the best I've had. I had no problem waiting a few extra minutes to get my drink. Aside from juices and smoothies they also offer fruit salads and a few other things like paletas.
