I always buy the cinnamon rolls, they are delicious. But yesterday they gave me some old ones and had a strange taste. Probably because they were old. read more

Thought I had skipped out on the hotel breakfast for something considerably different. Unfortunately I found Grandys. What I thought was a mom and pops breakfast joint, turned out to be nothing more than glorified hotel lobby breakfast. Cold food that was sitting under a heat lamp. Not much for service when they take your order at the counter and have the food put down on a tray before you even pay. read more

Everything is delicious here. I love their pot roast, or chicken fried steak. Everything else on the menu is good as well. I just mentioned my top two favorite meals. The cinnamon rolls with nuts are good too. I love this place. read more

Grandy's - Pot roast, mashed potatoes and corn on the side, - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - El Paso, Texas

Grandy's has changed in the last 30 years for sure. The chicken fried chicken looks pre-packaged now. The gravy was white and missing a little salt imo. The corn was corny-ish. The yeast roll was already cold after going back to get iced tea before eating. Good tea. The counter lady was very nice. read more

I love this place. Good food at good prices, even after all these years. Staff is friendly. Hope its around for many more.

Only one left in El Paso great deal on chicken fried steaks on Tuesday and Friday well worth the drive

I ordered brunch through the drive-through. I asked for a modification on my breakfast and they handled that with ease . The service was very quick and the portions were good. I did not go into the restaurant so I not sure about the ambience. I have eaten this restaurant before and it's always very clean. read more

This is the 2nd time I've visited Grandy's. The staff was not friendly. The portions served were not even close to what was portrayed in the displayed pictures. They were out of sweet tea in the front and back and was promised they'd bring me some out once it was made which never happened. $35 plus dollars was steep for 2 people, small servings and unfriendly staff. read more

Love Grandys's, It's an old restaurant needs a good deep cleaning and refurbish. The food is always great! It just could use a face lift.

I have memories of coming here with my grandparents when I was a little kid back in the 80's. Yes, this exact location! They'd bring me here for breakfast. I always loved the eggs, bacon and pancakes. I hear that the breakfast is still reasonably priced (and tasty) these days. The last time I had Grandy's was sometime when I was pregnant with my son, 15 or 16 years ago! But... My mom sort of let me relive some good memories the other day. She brought me some chicken fried steak, corn, mashed potatoes and rolls for lunch. It was really good and it hit the spot! I loved that the chicken and mashed potatoes had lots of gravy on top of them. It was creamy and had just the right amount of flavor. I love gravy! The only thing I didn't like was the corn. It didn't have any flavor at all. I didn't want to add any salt or pepper so I just left it there. The rolls were tasty too. I should've added some butter but I didn't. I think this is the only Grandy's in El Paso these days. I'll have to come back to relive the 80's and good times again soon! Coming to Grandy's is sort of like traveling in a time machine...or maybe in that DeLorean from "Back to the Future." I'll buy a DeLorean when I win the lottery. So yeah...I recommend coming here to eat some reasonably priced comfort food. read more

Grandy's - Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - El Paso, Texas

This is the ONLY place I will eat chicken fried steak from. It has light breading and not a thick layer of breading like other places. I don't bite into nerve or fatty pieces. Everything is good at Grandy's and has been around for a long time. Mmm I want some now. read more

The food was awful, worse than fast food. The chicken fried steak was dry and flavorless. The service was friendly., though.

The menu prices are wrong so expect your order to be twice as much as it usually is, Aliyah D was very rude and impatient after I asked why is it so expensive she replied very rudely saying it's the managers fault, the burritos say $1.09 on their menu an it looks like we were charged for an extra three burritos and my $5 drink was basically just ice with a little bit of soda, very disappointing if you don't like the food industry stay out of it if you can't manage it! read more

Grandy's is the place to go, man this place will take you back in time feeling like a kid eating with the family again on dinner night everything is great there jus need something to put alil smile on the employees faces because they all look mad every time I go! read more

I stopped in because some locals told me it was good fast food place specific to the south. I would call it a cross between a cracked barrel and a McDonald's. Southern country cooking but fast food. I had the chicken fried chicken with gravy. Basically it's a breaded chicken breast with sausage gravy. It was good comfort food, especially the gravy. I also had the green beans and baked beans. The green beans were average and the baked beans had a nice sweet flavor. Not bad for fast food but it's just that. A fast food place with mediocre food. But like many fast food places, I'll likely be back when I'm in a hurry and need a quick decent meal that isn't particularly good for me. Update: Initially 3 stars, but then on my way out I stopped at the bathroom...Disgusting! The smell was so bad I couldn't breath. Lowered to 2 stars. read more

The food was cold and had no flavor. The floor was sticky and it felt very stuffy in the dining room.

Drove 15 minutes to get a to go to Grandy's for the first time in 2 years and every order meal was incorrect. Bag was tightened so we did not check. There were no cars in parking lot, so it was VERY slow at the time and did not think that since it was so slow they would mess up every order. Sides were incorrect and on the kids meal we asked for a drumstick and received nuggets. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND IT WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME, THAT IS EXACTLY WHY WE STOPPED GOING. read more

Cheap but sometimes you get what you pay for. Order at the counter place. Went for breakfast. Very bland and just not good.

I'm not sure why I've never checked in here. However, this is my weekly check in. It's the closest thing to home cooked food in a hurry. Just ran into Andy, the owner, and he gave me a key chain! How cool is that!!!!! I love this place honestly. I used to come so much that I actually caught one employee stealing. True story ask the owner. I reported it to him when I saw it happen multiple times Anyhow, everything on the menu is great. Sweet Tea is especially good. I get the nugget meal. Pure white meat. Not the fake stuff you get at fast food chains. Come check them out!!!!! Yummy read more

I got biscuits and gravy with sausage. Very good. I would recommend. Definitely worth it. You pay first and sit anywhere. Its an old restaurant very vintage look. Its not the nicest looking place but food is good. Its quiet. I would go back to try the fried chicken. read more

Wow! How have I been coming to El Paso for over 30 years and never heard of this place! It's delish!! There is only one location and let me warn you the line gets long, but worth it! For about $8 you can enjoy a full plate of chicken fried steak, fried chicken, mashed potato's, and a side! It's a great serving of food and omg it's so good!! Another yummy treat were the cinnamon rolls! Warning: these do come with nuts and raisins. I am not a fan of nuts but this roll was soooOO delish and warm with some melted cinnamon butter! This def is more of a fast food tYpe place and it does actually have a drive thru wHich is nice. The inside is very rustic and olDer since it's a staple spot but the staff was nice and it seemed fairly clean. read more

Grandy's - two plates of breakfast food - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - El Paso, Texas

See all

I will start by honestly explaining that the food here is really good. The morning biscuits and gravy with sausage is phenomenal. However, the service is absolutely awful. 4/5 times my order is wrong. Usually, it is not a big deal because usually it is a side item that is changed, but the final straw came a month ago when I not only received the wrong sides for one meal but an entirely wrong meal for another. The issue is that I paid double what I received. To make matters worse, I live in the northeast, a 35 minute drive from the restaurant. Of course, I called when I realized their mistake, and I was told that I could come back in at any time to receive my correct order despite me asking just to have the difference refunded. The next day I decided to get the meal I paid for. However, the staff said it was not in the book and that the manager would not be in until the next day, so I waited and called the following day. I spent twenty minutes on the phone explaining the situation and how I had paid for something I did not receive, and the manager only gave the excuse that the person I spoke with did not write down my name even though I had my order number with a receipt and the incorrect order they gave me. This can only be considered as theft, and I will not be supporting this business any longer. read more

Good food. Quick service. Reasonable prices. One of the few places that serves chicken fried chicken steak.

I ordered a 15 piece meal that comes with rolls and 3 sides. They had me wait for 25 minutes because they didn't have all the chicken. I was in no hurry so sure, i waited. After 25 minutes they brought me my food. Wish I would of checked the bag but you think that by following a ticket they can put all the items in the bag. At home i noticed they didn't put the rolls in the bag. Not only that, the chicken wasn't fresh. It should of been very hot, not warm. 25 minutes and 52 dollars wasted. read more

So everyone's been chatting this place up. So I thought I would give it a go. I was so underwhelmed. It was not just the cinnamon rolls. It was everything. My eight piece chicken consisted of four wings and two legs the size of my thumb and a two average size breast. I was expecting buttermilk biscuits being that they are screaming about their southern blah blah blah. The biscuits tasted like sweet Hawaiian rolls from the grocery store. I ordered two large sides that came in 16 ounce Styrofoam cups one was green beans. No bacon and so overcooked they dissolved in my mouth. My mashed potatoes were so watery I could drink them with a draw And there was no sausage in the sausage biscuit gravy. The cinnamon rolls were not completely cooked. It was virtually no cinnamon or anything gooey and delicious on the inside. There was three drizzles of frosting across the top a few raisins sprinkled with cinnamon and four pieces of walnuts on each one. My bill was $40. And my chicken was a little on the salty side. The green beans and the gravy we're both on the peppery side. read more

This food is nasty! Also the food is left out and just heated up, the restrooms smell horrible especially the men's. I tried the mashed potatoes and they tasted like mold. I recommend to not come here!! And I definitely will not come here ever again! read more

Can't beat the Tuesday special! Chicken fried steak dinner 2 sides and 2 rolls. Everything was nice and hot. Perfect okra! I got 2 plates 3.99 each! I used to come here with my mother, sisters and grandparents every Sunday after Church. I was 13, trough 16 years old then. Now I am 43. My Grandfather passed away 21 years ago, my grandmother 2 years ago. As a kid I was always mad "why do we always have to go to the same place all the time"... Well now our lives have changed my mother is retired, my sisters all have their careers and families and so do I, i really want to get everyone together to come back on a Sunday with our new families. I'll make it happen! Anyway what does that have to do with a review you ask? Well the chicken is good crispy and juicy, they have a little but awesome salad bar. Basically the quality of the food is way better than what the prices suggest. Everything is fresh and hand breaded, great daily special and nothing has changed over the years, not only is the restaurant exactly the same but so is the taste and quality of the food! Unfortunately I can't say the same for the drive trough food, but I can't take off a star based on my beautiful memories. read more

The food could be better, it reminds me of school cafeteria food. But for the price that's ok. It's not a place I would go to again. Customer service is good and that's why I give it 4 stars. The eating area is also clean and they seem to be really good about keeping the place clean. If you need a fast place to eat but don't want McDonald's this is a good stop read more
