Stopped back in my old hometown of Indianapolis and after the Fever game decided to check out The Saint Shack. I absolutely dig the vibe here. It's not too big or doesn't have the scene of a club. It's a nice, chill place with various alcoholic slushies and jello shots that actually come in a shot! The food here is really good as they have a selection of various types of hot dogs. I went with their traditional dog with mustard and ketchup with some tater tots. The food was very delicious and the perfect little meal after a Fever game. I absolutely recommend coming here as the prices are rather inexpensive and it also doesn't have that big club feel like other places in downtown Indy do. read more

We were walking downtown Sunday afternoon and stopped in for a quick bite. It was pretty empty so we were greeted by friendly staff and were able to have all of our questions about the menu answered. I had the LA dog with tots and my friend had the Veggie dog with fries, I also had the mango passionfruit Slushy. I thought my LA dog was pretty good but my friend did not enjoy the Veggie dog. Located in downtown Indy, this is a cool place to walk into with dimmed lights and various pictures, decor and upbeat music. There plenty of indoor seating and a large bar. We had a couple of hot dogs and the boudin balls which was all delicious. They also have alcoholic slushies. The service was ok. Stopped in for quick shots while on the pedal bar. Unlike MOST bars along a pedal route, they were glad to see us. Most bars do not tend to like when pedalers come, so it made me more excited to support them since they were happy to see us. They offer hello shots and any other kind of shot you could dream of. The Jell-O shots even come in the syringes which are so fun. It is a little hole in the wall, but great to stop in for a few minutes. A hole in the wall dive bar located downtown. This is a very interesting place. We came across it during all star weekend when most of our go-to bars were packed. We we grabbed some hot dogs and ordered drinks. I'm not sure if it was due to all stars but we were ID'd and wanded by a security guard and metal detector before we were able to enter. My bad. When I go out to eat, it's all about the food. So, it didn't occur to me that this place was a bar. Well, it didn't until the doorman at my hotel said he'd never been to it because he's only 18. Were it not for that, I'm sure the guy who checked my ID and wanded me before I entered would have tipped me off. So, as bar food goes, I think my food was fairly decent. The hotdog was beef and not too filling despite the batter, chili, and cheese. I could have gone for more chili, though. The boudin balls needed more seasoning. The mustard dip kept the dish from being completely bland. I think I'd be willing to go back without too much of a protest, but I'm not sure The Saint Shack knows what it is. Is it a kitschy restaurant? Is it a bar? I think there's a nightclub downstairs--separate entrance. For a Saturday night, it wasn't crowded at all, though. On our ongoing quest to find some of the best hot dogs in Indy, we found ourselves at The Saint Shack on the evening of the Fourth of July. Nothing like a super pregnant lady chowing down on hot dogs and fries at a club on the fourth of July. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do... After seeing some of the pics of their loaded dogs and hearing about it from a friend, I had to see for myself. This New Orleans inspired club packs a punch when it comes to their dogs - you'll find everything from a classic loaded Chicago dog to bacon wrapped and deep fried alongside Santa Fe and Chili dogs. Most of the dogs will run you around $7 which is on the higher end but I would say a savvy business move on their part ;) What drunk (or pregnant) person wouldn't love a hefty hot dog at the end of the night? Better yet, their crisp crinkle fries are simple and delicious for $3.50. Last but certainly not least, they have a really fun wall of slushy cocktails ranging from Palomas to Pina Coladas. I had a sip of both and look forward to ordering a full cup in a few months ;) The slushy cocktails are $10 and booze-forward (not as cheapy tasting as I was expecting). I came here to meet my girls and enjoy some dancing, drinks and a little food, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. This spot is located where Subterra use to be located. To be honest I thought I was going to to a tacos and tequila bar based off the name (it's not), but ended up walking into a cozy night club. There are 2 sides to The Saint Shack, you have your dance club vibe located underground and then there's the Bourbon St bar complete w slushees upstairs. In the upstairs level there is also food. I ordered the boudins and also the shack wich (or something like that) over rice. The boudins were delicious! I couldn't stop eating them. They're a decent size too, 4 altogether and comes with some sort if sauce. The shack wich was decent Im not sure I would order again. I found myself wanting a little more flavor or spiciness in the shredded chicken and my rice was hard. For drinks I was introduced to this shot called GreenTea Shot and it's PHENOMENAL!!! This shot was so delicious it could easily come in glass or pitcher. The taste reminded me of a peach green tea and it was cold!! Let's just say LJ (bartender) serves us a few of those. Really cool bar downtown that gives more fun night out than club night out. I went during the day with my husband. We ordered the boudin balls, tots, drunken chicken, and the chili dog. We also got drinks. The food was really good for bar food. I want ate what to expect but the flavors are va exactly what I was going for with their theme seemingly being New Orleans inspired. There is metered street parking available and this place looks like a hole in the wall on the outside, but is very trendy and updated on the inside. I finally found a frozen daiquiri bar in Indy. Reminds me of Bourbon Street. They have an assortment of daiquiris and signature cocktails. They have dining area and bar seating available. Be warned though, that their daiquiris are served in tall souvenir cups. The bar usually has music playing in the background and there are a few televisions around the bar to watch. In addition to drinks, they serve food, most notably hot dogs and fries. I liked the place's decor and chill vibe. I am really looking forward to returning here soon. read more

My friends and I were out day drinking when another group asked if we wanted to join them at The Saint Shack. I had no idea this place existed so take this review as a daytime point of view. Also possibly a bar downstairs open at night? As soon as you walk in frozen cocktails are to your right. 12 flavors to choose from and two cup sizes. Cups pictured are $10 and there is also a party yard cup as an option. A LOT of plastic getting thrown away which made me super uneasy about it. I took mine home and washed them since they could be reused. They have table seating, bar seating, standing basket chairs, and this super cute green couch. Lots of plants and good photo opportunities ;) Drinks from the bar were pretty expensive as well. I got two shots and it was $16.. it was a nice hangout and the frozen drinks are cool but that's like event pricing. Overall I would return..however I wouldn't start my drinking here due to the cost. New spot downtown! They serve slushes with liquor. I believe they have about 8 different ones to choose from. We went right when they opened at 4pm. There was a private event right before so there were a few people already in and the place looked like it could use a little cleaning but understood since they had just hosted a large group. The other cool thing is they have a ton of different hotdogs! Maybe like 5 or 6 different versions, one that is vegan which I had and it was amazing! The other people I were with had the Chilli dog and the Chicago dog and they said it was one is the best hotdogs they had. They have a small selection of other food too. Service was good, our bartender was very attentive and made suggestions on both food and drinks. This restaurant is in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, down the street from the Slippery Noddle, and on the corner of South Meridian Street. Right, around the corner is the IMPD in case anything could go wrong. Parking there's street parking, or you could park at the parking lot right across the street from Slippery Noddle they accept cash as well as card for $10.00. If, you're parking in the street don't go over your time you'll get a ticket, and possibly your car towed. Going in the restaurant they do have security checking you as well as have your ID with you, and if you want to go downstairs that's $15.00. Once, inside of The Saint Shack I absolutely love the ambiance the decor, giant gumballs machine, plants that's not overbearing, and most importantly the slushy area. My cousin and I sat at the bar, we arrived there at 10pm, wasn't many people there since that's early. Their restrooms are unisex that's located in the front. I ordered a chilli cheese dog with only the chilli sauce and shredded cheese. My cousin ordered the Chicago hot dog. When, ordering slushies you have to go to the slushy area in the front to order as well as pay for it there. The Saint Shack doesn't close until 3am, have a live DJ playing on the weekends. For our slushies I ordered the peach Bourbon 12oz, and my cousin ordered The Stewie. Overall, I really enjoyed my time out there, and I'll be back. read more

This place is located directly above the Patron Saint so it's great for some late-night grub after a night out. I started following them on Instagram and they happened to have a vegan dog of the month that I really wanted to check out. My boyfriend and I were randomly out on a weeknight and decided to stop in to give it a try. It's a bar (21+) but also serves food at a reasonable price. I ordered the vegan dog of the month and my boyfriend ordered the Indy dog. It wasn't the best food I have ever had, but for being a bar I was impressed. We hadn't been out drinking that night but this would be the perfect place to stop into before heading home after a night out in downtown. Had I had a few drinks I think I would have been even more impressed with the food. The main appeal for me was their vegan dog of the month that I had seen on Instagram. I am vegetarian, not vegan, but I love when places venture out and offer vegan and vegetarian options. I went up to the bar (which had 2-3 bartenders) and waited for a bartender to come over. There was no one sitting at the bar. Finally one of them looked over and said, "what?" I placed my order. He brought my drink. He asked for my card and then brought me the check. Overall, service really wasn't good. Brought the mood down. 1/5 It looked cool in there though. They had a slushy wall behind the counter. There is a full bar. The only tables they have are all tall with tall stools. They did have a beer pong table in the back. somehow i didn't realize there was a colts game so heading down here we hit traffic. the plan was to go as soon as they opened though to avoid crowds and wait times. on the main level you order your adult slushee and food. you go sit & the food is brought to you when done. i ordered a chili cheese dog minus some toppings and fries. i wanted tater tots but they were out. they also were out of the jack honey lemonade everyone raves about. the associate let me know that the blue raspberry was on special. i went with the peach bourbon- wonderful choice. i am NOT a fan of frozen or sweet drinks. i was prepared to get tequila from the full bar but you can sample the slushie and we did! it wasn't super sweet and you could taste the booze. sold! there was a dj inside playing music and just a few people drinking. the food came out quickly. the fries were forgotten but this was quickly fixed and they came out super fresh. i loved how well they were seasoned. i'm pretty picky about my coneys & chili dogs theirs are excellent. i seriously want my meal again. the toppings were generous the cheese melted perfectly. the bun is toasted the dog is sliced open. the entire meal was under $20. absolutely a steal. it did of course start getting busy and i personally limit my eating in restaurants -basically i don't lol- so we finished right on time. it is loud inside and people are throwing back shots. i think this is a place for people who want to party and have weekend fun with some good grub. you of course can sit and chill but there's not going to be a lot of room for conversation. in a post covid world i'd love it here!!! :) read more

I just want to start with this is by no means somewhere I expected to like. In fact, it was the antithesis of what I usually like. The focus on premixed frozen cocktails, the location being amongst indy's club scene, loud music making it difficult to converse while inside..I was prepped to give a try and talk smack after to my friend who suggested. I was wrong. Sure, the music is loud. But otherwise, the drinks were surprisingly delicious. The pre mixed mixes got me...taste, strength, not overly sweet (plus cool souvenir cups). The hot dogs (chicago dog specifically) hit the spot ten fold. Not usually hot dog fan, not a huge meat eat but this experience was just a pleasant surprise in unexpected ways. This is the best addition to downtown Indy in months!! The Saint Shack is a themed bar that makes you feel like you're right in the best parts of New Orleans. It is easy to find and their are tons of parking lots close by. They have a HUGE selection of signature cocktails and alcoholic slushees. I had the Honey Jack Lemonade Slushee and it was delicious for someone who doesn't usually love Jack Daniels. Their food was the big stand out of the day. They had the best hot dogs I've found in the city. From bacon-wrapped dogs to deep fried dogs, they have it all. We tried the Chicago Dog and the Chili Dog! Both were to die for! Their Tater Tots were also perfectly crisp. They have live music a lot and lots of special events. They even have merch! As I savored my Mini Bagel Dog, I was approached by an irate customer who had just been denied service due to a lack of money. The scene was a stark reminder of the class divisions in America, where the wealthy enjoy luxurious hot dogs while the poor are left to beg on the streets. I purchased this irate stranger a Santa Fe Dog, and he was very pleased with the quality. The Mini Bagel Dogs, like life in America, are a paradox. They are both simple and complex, delicious and bitter. In a society where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, these Mini Bagel Dogs offer a glimpse into a world where justice prevails. I cannot help but compare these Mini Bagel Dogs to the Futurist arts movement of the early 20th century, which aimed to celebrate the technological advancements of the time. Like the Futurists, the creators of these Mini Bagel Dogs attempt to capture the energy of modern life. It is with great enthusiasm that I assign a five-star rating to the quality of Saint Shack.
