The restaurant looks like a beautiful house with an outdoor porch where you have the option to dine on if you'd like. The inside you have a beautiful bar area to the left and a dining area to the right with a fire place giving a comfy upscale feel. The prices are a little on the pricier side so something to note. I recommend the shrimp tacos and Parmesan fries! You have the option to host events there too as I was witness to a couple during my time there. The only con is the parking situation. I've only ever been during the day for lunch and there are never any parking spots. I always spend a good 10-15 minutes circling around for one to open up. Went for brunch and we very very happy. Loved the decor - the tiled floors, the lighting wood finishes, lots of welcoming ambiance. We had the crab cake Benedict and the Brussels sprouts pizza. The pizza was fantastic. The dough wast well cooked, the ratio of sprouts and cheese and pancetta was spot on. We enjoyed our brunch. Here's the skinny on Rye grill and bar. Definitely more of a social scene than known for its food. We waited a long time for a table and sat at the bar which was great. Good service. Food was fine, everything came out cold. Very loud atmosphere. Would be curious if it wasn't during the holidays if it would be a little bit quieter. I couldn't even hear conversation. This was sadly one of the worst experiences. Server was as dead as fish as my seafood. Dead pan face. When I asked about a Reisling she said "the wines are listed!" Oh well. I love exploring towns all over Westchester and Rye is definitely one of my favorites. Besides being super walkable, the restaurants never disappoint. Rye Grill and Bar has one of the best menus, especially for brunch. I recently dined here for my cousin's bridal shower and the service was amazing. Order the pecan crusted salmon, it is delicious! Once again visiting Westchester for Thanksgiving and once again trying one of the local restaurants on Thanksgiving Eve. This time, we came to Rye Grill & Bar. They set us up in a large private room on the second floor. It was a spacious and comfortable setting, big enough to give the kids space to run around and quiet enough to let the adults hear each other talk. Our server quickly took our drink orders, then we settled in and perused the classic American menu. For appetizers we had chicken wings, potato skins, and meatballs. All of them were great, but the real standouts were the entrees. I had a blackened monkfish special. It was truly a gem of a dish. The monkfish was nice and light. It paired beautifully with the mango salsa, sautéed spinach and jasmine rice. If they can reliably source the fish, I'd recommend that they make it a permanent part of the menu. My Daughters wedding shower was hosted at this establishment. As tradition dictates, most men were not there including myself. My wife was highly satisfied with the planning and implementation of the event. There were accolades for the service and food quality that included passed items and a buffet station. The location is convenient for Manhattan based attendees as the Metro North station is practically next door. The private space was large enough for 80-90 guests comfortably. The bar staff (I showed up late) was on their toes and kind and generous. I would recommend this venue for these reasons. read more

Both of these entrees came with home fries which was probably the most bland home fries i had in my life. the steak was not seasoned at all and totally not worth it. the eggs that came with it was scrambled up with grease and burnt. i was very disappoint. however, the salmon eggs benedict was flavorful and pretty good so i recommend getting that one instead of the steak eggs. the service was pretty annoying they kept coming over like 10 times asking us if we want anything else or if we were done with our meal. there was literally no peace. they would stand and watch us. i didn't like the vibe because of it. the ambiance indoors was pretty cool lots of decorations and a cozy fireplace yet it was pretty cold in there still and everyone in the dining area still wore their coats? put up the heat. This is the loudest restaurant I have ever experienced. We were seated in the main room, four of us around a small table, leaning in - and could not hear each other speaking. There are no acoustic tiles on the ceiling, nothing on the walls - and this place just echoes. It's unbelievably noisy. When your waiter is saying, "What?", you know it's loud. I asked to be moved to a quieter location and was informed that there was nothing quieter. Then...as our food arrived, they set up a table with a party for 10 kids under 10 years old - right in the middle of the main room. That made an impossible situation even worse. I complained to the manager and suggested that a party like that ought to be in their upstairs area, so their regular diners could eat in relative peace - and her response was that "upstairs is closed". 10 kids in a room that was already crazy loud. My head was pounding. I told the manager that it was ridiculous to put that party in that room - and her response was, "Right." Right? ... Right? We left and went elsewhere to get desert --- and won't be going back to Rye Grill again. Unless you have no interest in carrying on a conversation while you eat, stay away from this place. read more

We're here for a party with a group of about 80. It's a 12-4 party. The choices are grilled salmon, grilled chicken, and ribeye steak. The salmon is ok. The chicken is dry. And the steak is less than 1/2 inch thick so no matter how you ordered it, it came well done. There was no switching. So if you wanted more vegetables instead of potatoes - tough luck. One of the people at my table has lactose intolerance. She explained this to the server and he said he understood. It still came wrong. There was a small presentation and we were only 2 tables away but couldn't hear anything. There was so much noise coming from the other rooms and the downstairs that it was impossible. This place has a nice look but it's too loud. We were upstairs for a party and it's ridiculous. We can't hear our speaker because of the noise downstairs. So if you're coming here don't come to the open upstairs area, go into the room that the doors can close. It's a pretty, open area, with a nice looking bar. But nothing to help the noise. Even hard to hear people at our table. There is one bathroom that is a single stall. It's upstairs and crazy that when this place is packed there's such a line. Isn't it required to have more bathrooms when it's a larger restaurant? The cheese, salami and meats, and crackers were delicious! The main course, eh. I got the Parmesan crusted ribeye. Asked for medium rare but it was definitely well done. And super fatty. I get it's the cut of meat but still. I lost maybe a third of my meal to fat. And it came on garlic baguette that was good, but it didn't come with lettuce or tomatoes as advertised. The servers were nice enough. When I asked they did give our table a pitcher of soda for us. That was nice and saved me from having to ask a lot. Our cousin was very clear that needed dairy free. The apple tart came with ice cream even though that wasn't advertised. Then when it came out there was a sauce on it. A nice employee read the bottles to see if she could have the sauce. And she couldn't. So they got her another completely plain. Crazy that it was so hard to get something dairy free but thank you nice employee for taking it seriously. I wasn't sure if I would give this place one or two stars but I stuck with one because their handicap entrance is not obvious. Yes there's a ramp to the side, but then when you look up there's still stairs. I didn't know you had to go all the way around. Randomly stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night while driving through the area. It was very busy, which was a good sign. We were seated upstairs, and the ambiance was nice. The menu was pretty typical American fare. I got the margarita pizza, and it was pretty okay. Not amazing but it was good enough. A must when we come here! We ordered some wings for the table and .. wow! Some of my favorite wings. Perfect crispy to soft ratio. I always enjoy the ambience when we stop by here. We sat by the fire, it was so nice and totally kept me toasty on this cold winter day. There were a couple of parties going on. There is an upstairs and a room on the side for these special events. We ordered the pot chicken, filet and skirt steak. All very filling and all so delicious. I wouldn't change a thing about our experience here. I also recommend the warm goat cheese salad, I usually hold off on the walnuts but overall I think every dish I've had from this restaurant is always cooked and presented to perfection. read more

We recently held a Family Reunion lunch at the Rye Bar and Grill. It was wonderful. A central Westchester location for our now scattered family coming from every direction. The train is across the street for those traveling from the city and CT. We were on the 2nd floor private party room. The room fit the 60 persons comfortably. Ages 1-85. The space was bright and clean. Besides stairs there's an elevator for easy access. The staff was amazing, they had everything we needed ready including high chairs and a table for the clowns hired.for the kids. Allowed us to come early to bring flowers, etc.. A large TV was available to post family photos. The bar was placed right outside the room. Great for greeting party goers. The open bar, beer, wine and aperol spritz , accompanied the lunch very nicely. We had a buffet of appetizers and a sit down lunch. The food was delicious. Enjoyed by all. Also, the staff had no problem with us bringing our own added dessert. Rye grill made it easy to plan the party and answered all questions before and during the date set. I have dined at this location for decades. I have seen it change from a good spot of casual fare to mediocrity. Hard to park, place was not busy but it took awhile to be greeted. When asked to turn up the heat, the server said it was pleasant, didn't understand that comment. Martini was not the best ! The bar area is laid back with tables and cozy chairs with cute low tables to have drinks and food with friends. The other side of the restaurant is more sophisticated with booths (from what I saw). The service was great and everyone was super friendly. The food was okay. I had the blackened shrimp tacos. It seemed like they chopped up one piece of shrimp per taco (2 per order) it was tasty but I felt like I was eating tortilla, crunchy lettuce and avocado with an occasional tiny piece of shrimp. My husband ordered the burger and he said it was really good. My kids had the chicken fingers. I did try a bite (always check out the kids food lol) and I liked that they weren't dry and they were panko breaded so they were crunchy which was nice. All in all I would come back. read more

Our experience was good considering all the mixed reviews. This place is bigger and much nicer than I thought it would be. I do agreed with one reviewer about their meat being overcooked. I would come back for the mussels and clams pasta and their pizza. Service is good but can be better, a little bit on the rush side. What I liked about this place the most is their close vicinity to the Rye MTR station. Very busy place with ample but limited parking depending on time of day. A good sized bar with many repeats, but don't get too wild because the Rye Police Station is within a stone throw (don't attempt it) away. I had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch there. We sat outside, and started off with A bloody Mary and fried calamari. The calamari was very crispy and fresh. We loved it. The bloody Mary was spicy and delicious! As an entrée, I ordered a lobster roll, my daughter ordered a cheeseburger, and my husband ordered A chicken cutlet sandwich. The lobster roll was huge, and the lobster was presented beautifully on a grilled buttered bun. It was cold, crisp and perfect. The chicken sandwich was on a nice brioche roll, with bacon, melted cheese and was quite delicious. The french fries were very crisp and perfect. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly medium rare and just juicy and delicious. Our waitress was quite good, and very attentive. She noticed that my daughter wasn't eating her food, and wanted to know if everything was OK. It was just because my daughter had eaten too much calamari!
