Had a wonderful dinner for my husbands birthday! We had reservations for a party of 9 on a Sunday evening at 7pm. I couldn't make the reservation online I did have to call because our party was larger than 6. When I called I was so confused if I was talking to a real person or a robot. The way she spoke was very robotic but replied in a way a human would. I was able to get transferred directly to the restaurant where it was easy to make the reservation. It seemed like a slower night because there wasn't a lot of people. We've only been here 1 other time a few months ago and loved the vibe we wanted to come back and bring our out of town guest. Came here to celebrate my buddy's birthday, it wasn't busy but it took over an hour to get our main course. The food was very good, we got the Brussel sprouts it was delicious. My review is based on the atmosphere, drinks, and customer service, all of which were excellent. The bartender did an amazing job. The watermelon margarita was one of the best I've ever had, and the smoky old fashioned was exquisite. Maroon, the Manager, was also incredibly accommodating and made the experience even better. We decided on this restaurant as it was kind of central for all of us who live in the Southern California area. We met up for a dinner. The place is very rustic, very comfortable, and relaxing. Our server maroun did a truly excellent job. We were a group of 19 people, five families, and he was willing to split the check so that each family got their check separately. Almost unheard of, and so very welcome. I apologize for not describing some of the pictures, but I didn't want to have to take notes and bother people. I had a steak frites meal that was superb. The sauces were delicious as was the steak and the french fries. My partner had the braised short ribs that were simply awesome. The other person who ordered the same dish agreed. I was kind of astounded that our server almost entirely took care of the whole table, and only sporadically got others to stop by. My only complaint is that this restaurant is 2 hours from where we live, otherwise I'd go there at least once or twice a month. We all had an excellent time in a very comfortable environment. Called to see if I could place an order for delivery over the phone. Gentlemen was pushy on placing order online because, they accept all other forms of payment. Finding The Rustik Fork on Yelp, I wanted to give it a try. It didn't disappoint! We were welcomed into this warmly "rustik" space and seated at our bench and seated table. Our server snd service he provided was fantastic from start to finish. Refreshing cocktails were followed in good time by our meals. Both drinks and meals were fresh and delicious. My friend was surprised at just how quickly hers disappeared! She said it was just THAT good! Came here for the second time and decided to check out their dinner menu this time. Got the smash burger, Brussels sprouts and short rib ragu. All the dishes were great! The highlight was the burger which really hit the spot and came with excellent seasoning, sauce and toppings. The Fresno peppers and onions were a nice touch. The Brussels sprouts were great as well, really nice and crispy and the goat cheese offered a good balance in the flavor. The ragu was good, but my least favorite of the three. The meat was tasty and tender but the pasta didn't really stand out. Overall a better experience than the first time around. Restaurant is nicely decorated and service was attentive and helpful! My family and I went last night to celebrate a birthday. My sister and I ordered the loaded sweet potato fries, and we both got food poisoning! The drinks menu is great with very decently priced mocktails and an interesting cocktail list. We tried the cucumber mojito mocktail and The Last Word, classic cocktail which was very enjoyable. We had Brussels sprouts for an appetizer which was crunchy and served on top of a balsamic glaze with some chevre cheese drizzled on top. I tried the smash burger. It came with crispy and perfectly seasoned fries. The burger had caramelized onions, cheddar cheeze, IPA aioli and pickled Fresno chilis which added a kick to it. The beef was a Santa Carota patty and the potato buns were on the light side. The menu is a QR code that you access through your phone and mine would only default to drinks, then only to the brunch menu. Discovered this place about 2 years ago, I always love the ambience of this restaurant. It has a cozy feel that is very nice, and the service is always nice. I've been here 3 times, each time about a year apart, and although they, change some items on the menu seasonally, the good quality remains consistent. Thoughts on the food: - Village Bakery Bread: tasted good, but would be great with more balsamic reduction. - Heirloom Burrata Salad: very refreshing. I enjoyed it, and I added a bit more salt because I like my tomatoes salted (personal preference). I absolutely loved the different textures with the bread, cheese, tomatoes, onions & arugula. It was great. - Cajun shrimp pasta: pasta flavour was amazing! Shrimp was seasoned well, but not salted. That was the only thing to note about the pasta. A bit of a mixed bag. We went on Mother's Day and made reservations, which first required battling a chatbot with the attention span of a goldfish. Service started slowly, but once our waiter appeared, he was courteous, knowledgeable, and very accommodating with a couple of modifications to my dish, which I appreciated. The special Mother's Day menu looked promising. We ordered two cocktails and a beer; unfortunately, two of the drinks seemed to have only briefly been introduced to refrigeration. The chicken Cordon Bleu was excellent. The $80 Wagyu steak arrived doing a respectable impression of veterinary cuisine and had to go back for a second encounter with heat. The $50 lamb shanks were the evening's biggest surprise: three tiny rib bones, a generous serving of fat, and roughly enough meat for a determined squirrel. The gnocchi were filling, but the tomato sauce tasted less "slow-simmered Italian kitchen" and more "freshly squeezed from a tube." My wife and I never get to do any holiday together because she is usually serving at a restaurant as well. This was our first time coming here and it was fantastic. The dinner we had the night before coming to this restaurant was really underwhelming. This was such a breath of fresh air to finally eat good food. This place is in a strip mall and it's really low-key. You could potentially miss it if you didn't have your GPS on. The inside is really mellow and rustic, and we loved the massive agave plants as we walked in. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server, Casey came up to us promptly and started talking with us about what we'd like to have. Since a wonderful yelper mentioned that the scallops were life-changing, we had to try them. I don't know if I could say that they were life-changing, but they were very good. This year was textbook on the top side only which caramelized the exterior of the oyster and the bottom of the oyster got to just bathe in the delicious sauce without having to worry about getting a soggy bottom. It was a very, very good scallop--almost as good as mom's and better than I've eaten at Gordon Ramsey's restaurants. The loaded fries were topped with short rib and sprinkled with barbecue rub that was brown-sugary with a hint of spice. The catchup was barbecue sauce. I personally devoured the majority of the brussels sprouts. They are so good. They took me back to this time in my life where I was doing long distance cycling. During some rides that stopped by this French restaurant in the Bay Area and eat crisp brussels sprouts that would give me the energy to continue my ride. These reminded me of those. I had the peach burrata salad with Wagyu sirloin. The chef seared this in the most glorious way, the seer put a crunchy bark on the outside of the meat and cooked the inside of steak to a perfect medium rare. Eating the steak was an experience. I wish I had more time in Riverside to eat at Rustik Fork. I'll have to make a trip soon to try the seasonal menu changes! read more
