I bought 3 loaves of asiago and 1 plain sour dough yesterday. I freeze them and take out a few pieces at a time.

I feel so fortunate to have tried the sour dough here. It's excellent. The only downside is trying not to devour a whole loaf in just 2 days (or less). Seriously it is THAT good.

This is what happnes when you arrive too late of the day. But if you can make it, the cranberry & walnut is our favorite of all!!!!!

Excellent bread but expensive. Not for everyday sandwiches but great for something special.

The sourdough was outstanding and pairing it with the garlic infused olive oil was a match made in heaven.

They also have refrigerators and freezers stocked with prepared foods, plus a deli counter offering freshly made sandwiches. Here's what we tried: -Egg salad sandwich - Just okay. It was pretty basic (mostly eggs and mayo). I asked them to add mustard, which definitely helped give it more flavor. -Prosciutto sandwich - Also just okay, nothing particularly standout. -Arancini & meat arancini - These were from the cold case, and I took them home to heat up. Unfortunately, they weren't very good--likely had been sitting there a bit too long. -Lemon blueberry ricotta cake - From the refrigerated case, and again, just okay. Overall, the shop itself is charming and has a lot to offer, but the items we tried from the deli and prepared foods didn't quite meet expectations.

A most near second is the braised short rib, served with a delectable and cloud-soft heap of mashed potatoes. Of lesser note were the wagyu tacos, pigs in a blanket, and the maple pecan butter cake, which proved but ordinary in their savor. Why gave I it four? - Forsooth, the service remaineth most excellent, the choices ample, and the fare overall commendable. Know thou, many of the draughts afore-mentioned were priced for happy hour as a small note. Of those dishes deemed but middling, the wagyu tacos and pigs in a blanket lacked that wondrous spark upon the tongue. Lastly, the dry-aged ribeye, though served with seasoning apart, did taste somewhat over-salted to mine palate. Yet, these faults did not greatly diminish mine experience for I retain my favored dishes and shall return anon. Verdict? - Shouldst thou find thyself near Claremont, prithee give it a try, for it is a place most grand.

Steak and burger were ok. Fries weren't to my liking as they were the soft kind. However, if you're looking for a local steakhouse in the Inland Empire then it's still worth a visit as Meat Cellar is up there on the IE list (probably top 5).

As I was buying my sausages. soft pretzels, and potato salad, the lady said very little to me and the gentleman, nothing at all. When I tried speaking German, the lady said she didn't remember much of the language anymore. This blunt, "tell it like it is" way of interacting is pretty much how my family used to be, so I found it familiar -- even comforting. But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. But my hope is that this place does continue until the proprietors retire with dignity or sell the business to some German-Americans with a passion for prepping and selling this type of food.
