Trouble! The Rustic Loaf is literally within walking distance of my home. I don't really like sourdough, but theirs is possibly the best I've tasted--better than Boudin Bakery's and Parisian sourdough. I also like their Cinnamon Raisin loaf...very flavorful. read more

I can't stand how amazing their sourdough loaves are! Every bite is a fluffy piece of sourdough heaven in your mouth. My favorites are the Asiago Sourdough and Lemon Rosemary Sourdough, both at very reasonable prices. They come to the USC Farmer's Market every Wednesday, which is awesomely convenient for a USC student like me! I love that they only use fresh, natural, and wholesome ingredients. Their service is wonderful, the breads are fresh, and everything tastes amazing! Closed on Monday and sometimes they run out of your favorite flavor, but all of the loaves are great. I don't even like jalapeños, but that bread is definitely worth trying. A bit on the pricey side, but I'll be back for the specialty breads. So far, so good. I really LOVE the scones at the Rustic Loaf, and the people who work there are really nice. There's a bench to sit down on, but if they added some chairs or tables outside, (or inside, if space permits and it gets larger) that could be really cool too. The breads are very nice as well. If you want to spend a buck or two more on something than you usually do, then let it be bread. Especially Rustic Loaf's bread. I have yet to try all of them, but everything I've had so far has been so fresh and flavorful. Store-bought bread absolutely can not hold a candle to the bread here. Whip up a gourmet grilled cheese, stack up a hefty cold sandwich, or just eat it plain, you can't go wrong. Also, the scones are some of the best I've had; well-balanced graininess and sweetness. Loved the French Country Sourdough loaf! The employee who helped us was super nice and offered to slice the loaf for us which was a nice touch. Had a sample of the Harvest loaf which had a slight sweetness to it and will have to go back to try that. I just wish they were open longer on Saturday. read more

The Rustic Loaf has the best bread I have found in the area. If you have never been there, give it a try. I slice the bread when I get home and then freeze it - it lasts in great condition as long as I want stored this way. read more
