We got the lemon rosemary loaf and one cherry almond scone and both were delicious! The loaf had great flavor and a nice crust, after heating it up it went very well with a bit of butter. The scone was dense and moist with just the right amount of almonds and cherries. We would definitely go back again for the same stuff and to try something new! read more

Drove there in the rain Tuesday morning only to see a sign posted on the door stating they will be open Thursday-Saturday this week instead of the normal Tuesday-Saturday. They were making bread inside just closed to the public. Schedule was not changed on their website or on Yelp. Very disappointing and inconvenient. read more

This bread is SO GOOD that I buy it every chance I get. I live in Arizona and when we drive to California (we usually fly) we always stop buy to purchase a few loaves. The sourdough is amazing. Had a family afternoon of bread tasting. Our popular bakery vs Rustic Loaf. The bread of choice for the taste-off was Kalamata Olive. Just by sight alone the winner was obvious as one had very few olives and Rustic Loaf had 5 times more and taste wise one was taste of bread then olive, then bread. Rustic Loaf had full flavor in every bite. Last was the crust and one was nice and chewy but Rustic Loaf was crunchy, lots of flavor, and truthfully more fun to eat. It was a happy bread. This is a gem and even though we live an hour away, this bakery is worth the drive. read more

The bread is quite delicious and the cream scones are amazing. In reality, I would give them 4.5 stars instead of 5 because of the limited daily selection. It is really a bakery specializing in (very delicious) breads rather than a cafe or patisserie. But what they do have is absolute quality! read more

I've passed by this establishment every day after work for at least a year and why it took me so long to finally walk in, I'll never know! Not only is the bread delicious but the staff is beyond friendly! The owner (I believe I overheard her say her name was Connie) is so sweet and welcoming. Since it was my first time there, she was not hesitant to let me try samples of each of the breads, the olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The part I appreciated the most was she was not pushy at all for me to purchase anything even after all the samples I tried (though I did make a few purchases, regardless). She encouraged me to take my time deciding and come back when I was ready. I highly recommend the rosemary foccacia and the white balsamic vinegar. Amazing! I'm definitely returning for more items and if you're in the area, you should stop by! read more

Worst place to go to !It was today my last time at Rustic Loaf because the owner told me while pointing his finger "  you see my finger? Out ! " ... I did ask for 2 baguettes less baked...He didn't like my remarks & my request and repeated " you see my finger ?Out! " I was a regular client putting $624 per year in his pocket. I feel discriminated because my accent is an obviously foreign accent and it was apparently an unbearable request expressed by a woman... Mike has also issues recognizing client comes first. I chanced upon The Rustic Loaf when I visited the SoCo Farmers Market a while back. They were giving out some samples and of course, we bought some. I still go back from time to time to buy bread from them and usually the olive bread is our choice, although I've also had the rosemary, regular, rye, asiago and the jalapeno. My all time favorite is the walnut one with cranberries I think. That one works really well with a charcuterie platter. The bread is crusty on the outside and light on the inside -- just the way I love my artisan breads. If you are ever at the SoCo Farmers Market, check them out. The bread sells out pretty fast so get there early! read more

Made of sea salt, flour and water, the Kneaders at The Rustic Loaf use a traditional 3-time fermentation process which levels and rises the bread naturally, without added chemicals that NO ONE wants in their diet. That is enough to draw my attention! Located at the crossing od 659 East 15th St and Campus Ave in Upland, this is a bakery close to home, and the heart. You are greeted the instant you walk in (not only by a person, but by a nice lil' bell) and an assortment of cheesy breads, fruity breads and basic breads smacks you in the face. From asiago, jalepeno jack, french baquette and sourdough, you'll have a harder time choosing what you want to leave with than you will figuring out how to get here. They also sell marmalades and infused oils for your dipping and spreading pleasure. Lets not forget muffins, scones, and cookies! Mark, whom I believe is the owner, kindly guided me through which types of bread will suit what dippings, what kind of toppings will taste best on which breads, etc. very helpful, very friendly customer service. Prices are posted on the wall near the breadstands. Two loaves only cost me ten dollars! Like, WOW is it worth it! I highly recommend the jalepeno jack bread for a spicy, cheesy kick in the mouth. Soo nummy...haven't had bread in over 8 months because it cause bloating and upset stomach. Due to the 4 day fermentation process most the gluten in these breads have been depleted and I am happy to say...no stomach upset with this nummy bread!! I'll be back very soon! read more

My mom has been buying bread for years and I finally stopped but to buy a loaf myself today. I bought the garlic Parmesan loaf and it's just perfect. Crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on inside, with a nice subtle flavor. I wish delicious, freshly baked bread like this was easier to find in the U.S.! Yumm, freshly baked bread! I've been looking for a good bread bakery in my area but the only bakeries near me are Asian bakeries like 85°C and Paris Baguette or grocery stores like Albertsons, Sprouts, and TJs. Then one day while Yelping I found The Rustic Loaf and saw that they bake a Rosemary Lemon Sourdough and knew I had to go and try it. I called ahead to reserve a loaf since I wasn't able to go until late afternoon and was afraid they might sell out. Upland is quite out of the way from Chino Hills but I have no regrets going. The bakery is quite small with all of their loaves and baked goods on display in baskets. Once I got my loaf I went straight into my car and ripped off a piece. I must say, I was expecting it to have a but if a stronger rosemary and lemon taste but none the less it was still delicious! The outer crust was so yummy and kind of crystalized by some kind of sugar they wiped on top before baking it. The insides have a nice chew and mmm... Service was super friendly and don't forget to grab one of those stamp cards. I can't wait to go bake to try some of their other loaves. :) read more

Yes. I found my fresh bread place:) Now, bread doesn't do my body good, but if you must do bread, it had better be good. The garlic bread has chunks (I do mean chunks) of real garlic. You can truly see the chunks of garlic in the slices. It tastes like it's been prebuttered. Hubby tasted it lightly roasted and raved about it too. On my way to pick up a jalapeno loaf. "Details at eleven". Customer service is just incredible. Appears to be family owned. Oh, and you may want to call in the morning to order garlic and jalapeno loaves. They will hold them for you, otherwise??? Location is somewhat hard to find because of road construction. Bakery faces East in a small strip mall at the North/West corner of 15th Street and Campus in a small strip mall, but current construction makes travel difficult. read more

Yum yum yum yum!!! I'm so glad that I was referred by a coworker to come to this place while in town. The place is small and focuses on bread and scones. I was told to get the scones, so I loaded up. Lemme just say, these scones are baked with some magical ingredient! They are extremely soft and are almost cookie like. I told myself I was only going to eat half of one on the way home, but ended up eating the whole thing because it was so good. I also picked up cinnamon raisin bread. I also couldn't wait and had a piece before leaving the place. I came by around 11am, and there were a few breads already sold out.
