Literally just paid $10 for Margarita mix in a cup with absolutely zero tequila. Decided okay, maybe it's the margaritas, switched to a Titos and water. I paid $10 additional dollars for a glass of water with zero Tito's. Disappointed by the drinks, I was ready for dinner, which was another let down. $17 for quesadillas?! Insanely over priced entrees and horrible weak drinks. Service was also subpar. Will not be back and would not recommend. Horrible choice for Cinco de Mayo 2020. I walked ovr today for the 'pop up mkt' there were 6 vendors - got a miller light $8 and some change (wtf) went and sat by a fire pit - no one waited on me - So I went back to the outside bar and ask if they had waiters for people sitting at a fire pit and they said oh yeah I will send someone over so the 'waiter' came over took my order - brought me a beer then he was MIA and I had to go to the bar and have him hunted down just to pay for my one beer again for $8 and some change - terrible service and way overpriced beer - i cld have easily walked the tab - but didnt and no tip for the bad srv read more

This place is pretty good. I was pleased with the food, the staff and environment/atmosphere. They have outdoor seating and indoor. At the table we had the Texas cheese steak, hot chicken and cheese, brisket quesadilla and the rustic burger. All were great. The sides were chips, fries, potato salad and mixed bean corn salad. All were good but....The fries are better than the chips the corn and bean salad is probably the best and the potato salad is good but not as good as Ray Kelley's, but still very good. Love their mixture of wood choices and how they notate it on the menu. Service was 5 Stars- waiter was very knowledgeable about every menu item Ambiance was 5 Stars- one of my favorite layouts of any Dallas Restaurants. Food was 4 stars. Great deviled eggs and the peanut butter pie were amazing. Also tried the grilled quail and country ribs. Quail was excellent but I thought the ribs could have been a little better...but I am picky when it comes to anything BBQ related. I will be back for sure! read more

Great place for brunch or drinks with friends! The outdoor patio is large and doesn't feel cramped like the ice house. The music aspect of it is great because it's always nice to have live music. There is ample seating for larger groups. The waitstaff was very attentive and checked in often. The crowd changes a little in the evening. There is a younger more diverse crowd during the day. Cool bar, but the food sucks. Came here with a party of 8 on a Saturday night. Service was a little slow, but as expected for a weekend night. Everyone got a different entree and I tried them all. Our thoughts: turkey sandwich was great! Burger is good, nothing you'd remember. Chips were ok. Chicken sandwich could be good, but ours was over cooked and dry. Deviled eggs were too salty (also need to loose the pork rind,) as was the bread. Cactus fries..whatever. Duck wings are terrible! They just drowned them in what taste like buffalo sauce, the meat has no flavor. The roast beef sandwich is terrible! The bun is the only good part, the meat has no flavor, tastes watery. Pooh pooh on the shrimp also. Bottom line, it's simply glorified bar food. Eat elsewhere and then come have a drink. read more

I haven't eaten here yet, but the food does look good. I've had drinks here though and it's about what you'd expect for a Texas themed bar in Uptown. The drinks aren't cheap but they aren't ridiculously overpriced either. The beer is cold and there are several varieties to choose from. I personally like Revolver Blood and Honey. I've also had their moscow mule which wasn't as good as the Standard Pour, but much better some of the other places around town that claims to know how to make one. Great crowd, good music, and awesome atmosphere. They have a huge outdoor area that's open when the weather is cooperating as well. I'll have to come a little earlier some time and try the food, from what I've seen it looks pretty delicious. I'll update my review once I do! read more

So glad we found this place in Dallas. Arrived at about 6pm on a Saturday night. Place was packed already with people everywhere. Very cool open air concept with great music setting the tone. Crowd was younger but all ages were having fun. Food was great! Definitely recommended if your visiting Dallas. read more

Really cool place for groups to hang out and drink local beer. I'm not a beer drinker but thankful they had a nice selection of wine for me. A nice bottle of Prisoner made a few of us happy. We had an after work gathering so we were outside under heaters and to the side there was a nice fire BUT you will smell like a barbeque link when you leave. They served a fajita buffet and they were yummy with all the fixin's. We had slow service. I think our group was large and not enough wait staff assigned. My friends and I came here for a Sunday birthday brunch. The place was packed but our server/bartender was as attentive as he could be. I love the atmosphere of this place because it is spacious inside and outside in the backyard area. The Rustic looks and feels just like its name. Complimentary valet parking along with self-parking option. The plus is that there is an actual parking lot. Tried their family-styled brunch for ~$17/person and it was great! The hot chicken was my favorite. It is basically perfectly fried spicy chicken. Yum! We ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries for my son since they do not have a kids' menu. Originally visited on 8.16.16 for my boyfriend and I's 5 months, haha. we ordered the Wild Boar Meatballs which came with about 6 sitting on top of black beans kinda of similar to Glorias bean dip. $9.95. They were delish. We also ordered the Texas Goat Cheese, has garlic and olive oil in the cheese with crispy bread. SO yummy. For Drinks we ordered Moonshine- Peach, Neat. Very strong. I never thought queso could disappoint me until I came to The Rustic. I would hardly call what they service queso and I urge management to change in name of the dish in order to not confuse customers because was you actually get it a cold portion of cheese and chips. Other than the queso fiasco, the atmosphere was alright and there was large selection of beer. Great atmosphere, great outdoor patio the food is really good. We had the brisket quesadillas and they were some of the best quesadillas I have ever had. I really liked the outside patio setting. I just wish it was more organized like having a hostess seat you and letting the waiter/waitress know we are here. My friend and I waited 30 minutes out in the patio, with no greeting or not asking if we needed anything. the waitresses walked back and forth and saw us too didn't even bother to greet us. Not until we got up to go see the manager then they came to us. We got 4 drinks and total came out to be $75. Besides the setting and environment. +1.5 star for Ambiance. It was a nice fall evening with myself and 10 family members. We wanted to go somewhere nice and hip for my sister in law's birthday and heard there was live music, which is something she really enjoys. We came in at 8pm on a Friday night and there was about a 35 minute wait. No biggy. Expected. Actually expected it to be longer, but luckily it wasn't. The atmosphere was great, with a nice rustic feel. Felt like I was having a bonfire outside with my family on our ranch. If you're into that kinda thing I'd definitely recommend it. +.5 star for the food. The queso was good. The brisket tamale was good. The jalapeno corn bread was good. I'd highly recommend all of those things, as they were each very flavorful and were good takes on classic southern dishes. But we had a party of 11, and we like to share so not everything was great. Shared tacos were supposed to be street style. I don't know where they learned to make street tacos but it wasn't at any of the great taquerias I've been to around the country because the meat was underseasoned. The provided amount of onion and cilantro was virtually non existent for 3 orders. We didn't have enough even for 1 person. The salsa was decent and had a smoky flavor which is the sign of a good salsa, but again it was barely enough for 1 person though advertised for 2-3. My brother in law's steak was literally labeled on the menu as "The Big Steak", but there was no way it was more than 8 oz. This is Texas. "Big Steak" is supposed to border on regrettable size, isn't it? To make things worse, the steak was half medium rare / half well done. Maybe the kitchen was trying to get it at least half right to get half credit? I don't know, but he didn't wanna eat the rubber that was the well done half. The meatball appetizer tasted like it was from a frozen Costco bag of meatballs. Burger was just ok. Onion strings just ok. The other 2 tamales in the tamale trio were just ok. Now to the bad part The service was absolutely terrible. We were a table of 11 on a Friday night, so we were expecting maybe 2 waiters to serve us to make things easier for them. Our first waiter introduced himself and mentioned another waiters name, but we literally only saw her one time. We didn't even know if she was supposed to be helping our main waiter or not. We got our drink orders in first, which was great. Until it took 20 minutes to actually get the drinks. My wife asked 5 times for my drink cause I was ready to not even be bothered for it, as long as it didn't show up on the bill. We asked twice if we could put in our food orders as they delivered our waters, but I guess our waiter didn't hear us. So we just waited more. All our waters were empty before we had to ask if he could refill our waters. We didn't even ask for a 2nd or 3rd round of drinks cause it was gonna take so long anyways. After we finished our entrees, waiter once again was nowhere to be found. Took another 20 minutes just to pay the bill. We joked at the beginning that the service was purposely slow so you can enjoy the atmosphere for 3 hours. It was just a joke but the meal ended up taking 2 and a half hours. At the end of the meal, I almost insisted to my cousin, who was paying the whole bill for the points, to only tip 10%. We're a family that always tips at least 20% if not more; many of us used to be servers in our youth and know the struggles before you've made it. But he didn't deserve the customary 15%. I'm still kinda upset that we gave it to him anyways. My cousin said, "It's so messed up that you can be so sucky at your job at a semi fancy place and just get a free $60 like that". The rustic has a really great atmosphere and a lot of potential. It has a great live music venue and outdoor seating. The one major drawback is it's weekend food selection. I went on Sunday after 3 PM and the only things available were a very limited number of appetizers and a very very limited lunch selection. There were such limited options that our server even told us he didn't blame us if we didn't want to eat there. Overall great venue, but bad lunch option on Sundays. read more

Minus the staff, this place was awesome. The second we walked in the hostess was super rude (to the point that we almost walked out.) We also went up to the bartender outside and asked if we order from him or if servers came around and he was very rude about that, as well. Once we had a server (I believe it was Oscar) he was great and made it a fun experience. We didn't eat, but the food looked and smelled delicious. The atmosphere was the coolest part. There was a band there, but in the two hours we were there I think we maybe heard 3 songs played by then. May have just been bad timing. read more

The ambiance is awesome. Great feel and look and nice and airy with a stage which is new and different for the area Food is ok, but not great. Came on a Sunday and expected to watch football which was difficult. The screens are small for the space so it's not easy. They also only play Texas games...so if you want to watch a non-Texas team when the cowboys or Houston are playing, I guess you are out of luck. I assume when a Texas team isn't playing then they play whatever other game is on, but not sure Editing my review, I went when they first opened and was told they only play Texas games when I asked them if they could put on the next game (which actually was a Houston Texans game) but looks like that's no longer the case or was a mistake. Came here last night and had the smoked chicken and wild boar meatballs. It kinda sucked cause I'm on this diet and couldn't enjoy the fabulous fried foods but even on this diet the food was great. Overall our first was good. It could have really been great though with faster service and a small improvement in sound quality. First the location is great and the outdoor patio is very large. It was tough to get a table on Friday night but we waited until someone left. We had two food items that were both great including the Texas Goat Cheese. Our waitress was very nice but seemed she could not get ahead of the business. Drinks took a long time every time. The other area in need of improvement is to install a couple of speakers towards the rear of the patio. . Could barely make out the words of the band. All in all we will go back and give it another shot due to great environment and good food. read more
