The bartender had a very bad attitude. I came in with my friend who owns a restaurant and I am a bar manager. The place looks nice but the bartender really put me off. He was very arrogant and just a real dick. I will not be back. He put such a sour taste in my mouth. I guess Ocean Beach where we live is much more laid back then here. read more

Great views but that's about it. Was hosting friends from out of town and made a reservation for 4PM. Walked up to the host stand at 4:03 and was told that we wouldn't be charged a late fee. Weird comment to even make. Then had to wait 10 minutes for our table to be ready. Once at our table, we had to wait 10-15 minutes for a waitress who then proceeded to question all of our ID's and last names. We're all in our mid-30s. They were out of several drinks, including the one that was called out as the highlighted drink of the day. Service was so slow that my wife had to get up to try to cancel our last round. Although you get a great sunset, I wouldn't return out of principle. Bad service and weird vibes from the staff like you should be grateful to be there. Plus overpriced below average drinks - $17 for a michelada is crazy. read more

Celebrating 21birthday and the views were amazing, drinks with lots of personality and server was nice! We even enjoyed some share food nibbles- be warned - drinks are a bit pricey and food portions are small- when the bill comes it reminds me of leaving Costco- like.... $what the heck did we get! I've visited The Rooftop Bar at the Mission Pacific Hotel many times. The vibe of this place is so different than most places in Oceanside and I think that's why they do so well. The bar is elevated 7 floors overlooking the beach. We visited for my friends birthday and with our reservation, we asked for a table by the edge. When we arrived they accommodated us to a great table right next to the glass. We started off with a few cocktails which are as good as they always are. The cocktails here taste amazing and you can tell the mixologist took the necessary time to create them. The Stonesteps is my favorite cocktail. For food we ordered Oysters, Whipped Feta Dip, Carrot Hummus, and the Grilled Artichokes. The birthday girl loves oysters and the mixture of the cucumber mignonette and hot sauce is perfecto. Fresh and not too large as I like them. The Whipped Feta Dip is served with pita and an assortment of vegetables. This dip is damn good and I'm not usually a feta guy. The Carrot Hummus was a little underwhelming in flavor, but the idea is there. I wouldn't personally order it again. The Grilled Artichokes are so damn good. They aren't the usually artichokes we eat in America, but the Italian version. You can eat the whole thing with the stem and when you mix it with the aioli it is tasty. Highly recommend if you like artichokes. They ended us with a round of birthday shots for the birthday girl. They were some sorta coconut papaya tequila shots which were damn tasty. If you come here on a weekend, they have a DJ playing and it makes it all spin together. The ambiance, food, and drinks are on point. My review is a 9/10. read more

Huge rooftop area & beautiful restaurant with an amazing view just over the Oceanside pier view! Super cool indoor areas as well. Such a stylish place. Service was perfect. The Waiter said that you have a seasonal menu that changes. Please don't get rid of the shrimp toast! It was amazing. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. read more

I can make this short. Should have been five stars. Drinks fantastic. Service was outstanding. Atmos was superb. Okay so why not five stars? The menus are out of date so when we went to order most of the drinks we wanted were not available. How is this even possible? Just an annoyance, but shows bad process on the office to let that happen. The music, while great, was so loud we were yelling at each other and it was hard to just talk with our friends. So dialing it back even slightly would have been good. It's a nice place and they sure know how to make some killer drinks. read more

Service, drinks and food was on par. It was such a beautiful day in Oceanside. Located in the middle of the bustle. We went on a Saturday which happened to have the 5k and Iron Man race. Luckily we made reservations. Party of 5. We got there 30 minutes before our reservations and immediately were seated. We never felt rushed and had about three or four rounds of drinks with our food. Our Waiter was friendly and helpful recommending food and tasty cocktails. He always had an uplifting attitude and attention to detail. Will definitely come back here again. read more

This establishment offers tables (you will need a reservation) and open bar seating. I would like to preface this with the bar staff were fast, friendly, and overall the best part of this experience. However, we did put our name for a table and once we sat the service went completely downhill. Our food came out before our drinks, it was my going away get together and my friend couldn't even stay to enjoy her drink as she had to wait 30 minutes for a n/a beer. The food was dissapointing as well; we ordered the hummus and whipped feta plates; each only coming with 3 pieces of pita, and the most minimal amount of vegetables. We had to order more pita to even be able to enjoy the dips. Gratuity was automatically included despite the absolutely poor service and wait times. While the sunset view is pretty the only good part about this was the exceptional bartenders. Nobody came to apologize for the wait times, not once did the server check on our food, we had to flag her down (which I hate doing but it was a necessary at the rate of her service) to order more pita and to close out. Don't come here for a table or dining experience you'll be left disappointed. read more

Gorgeous setting and view! Really nice upscale vibe. Has it's own express elevator in the hotel. Drinks are tasty but service is SLOW at least at the bar. I haven't eaten here yet. read more

I was a costumer at this restaurant weeks ago. The food was good and it came very fast, that is not my complaint. My issue is with the service at this establishment, everyone seems respectful and kind but near the hostess stand the security guard was pulling on the hostesses ponytails and messing with there work area. This could just be joking around but the hostesses at the stand looked uncomfortable and it was just an unprofessional look for the security. The area and light was amazing, I just wish the staff at the front was not being harassed. Would come again otherwise. read more

Such a nice spot for a cocktail. I went today to check it out for the possibility of having a future event and enjoyed a really pleasant experience. Good food and wonderful view, BUT, they over charged us (they did credit us the difference once we pointed it out) and beware- they charge an additional 6% service charge on all bills to off set the wage increase. It is written in fine print on the menu, but it still caught us off guard. Add it all up, and we will pick a different restaurant next time. read more

Hit traffic on the 5 so we detoured and found The Rooftop Bar. We've been here twice with friends, and is now our go-to place for lunch. Best ocean-view seating in Oceanside. Not a huge menu, but there was something for everyone in our party. Cocktails are amazing, and the view is great. Be sure to wait for a view seat. If going mid-day, note that not all tables have shade. The umbrellas don't provide full coverage. Overall, great beachside vibe, food, and drinks. Will keep going back. read more

If I could describe this place in one word, it would be stunning! This gorgeous hotel rooftop bar overlooks Oceanside pier and makes for a perfect spot to hangout, grab a bite, or to get some work done during the day. My friends and I came around 3pm on a Friday and were seated at one of their lower tables with sofa/cushion seating. I got a virgin pina colada which was so refreshing on a beautiful sunny SoCal day. Our server was super attentive and checked on us often. The vibes here are immaculate and one could probably describe it as a coastal summery. read more

We've been back a few times since my last review. The food and drinks are good, but I still find the whole place overpriced. Service has been great each time. Ambiance is a little chaotic, but it is a hotel. There is only one small spot to see the sunset directly if you aren't a hotel guest (guests are allowed into the pool area, which has a great view). It would be nice if non-guests were allowed into the area to watch the sunset, especially on weeknights and in winter when the pool and hotel are largely empty. read more

Let me start off by saying that the view is great. However, being served here means you're gonna feel like a task rather than an actual person. Not sure why that is. If you wanna come here for a good time and relaxation, thats fine! But just know that it comes with overpriced drinks and food . The potato chips being $8 says everything you need to know! When they say "cocktails & bites" just know it's emphasis on the bites ! Also there's one specific server there that lacks personality & kindness in his heart ! I hope he knows (that if he ever reads this) that this play is about him!! :) read more

The best day drinking and remote working experience can be found right here in Oceanside at The Rooftop Bar. An eclectic menu ranging from aged steaks, vegan options and an outstanding Chicken Sando are highlights here. Happy Hour is weekdays from 2-4pm offering $14 signature cocktails and $6 beers. Our waiter, Noah was so personable and recommended some of his favorites this afternoon that hit that savory spot in my tummy. The ambiance here is like being teleported to an Island Lanai!! The pool is always perfect temperature and the little clubhouse is perfect up here to take a quick business call and selfies alike!! After such a great experience with Noah and the team here at the Mission Pacific Hotel, I'll definitely be coming back for a weekend stay with the family!! Great rooftop bar/lounge with amazing ocean and pier views atop the Mission Pacific hotel. I especially like that there is a separate elevator that is clearly marked. The rooftop space itself is rather large with a seating area at the front (along with a fireplace), nice bar area and the pool deck for guests. We were seated quickly and was impressed by the unobstructed view of the ocean, beach & pier. While I was rather hungry when I came, I was a little disappointed that it was small bites but upon asking the wait staff, they recommended the chicken Sando. I ordered I and was very pleased that I ordered it - basically a full entree meal that was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside focaccia bread and flavorful chicken and micro greens. The homemade chips were also pretty tasty. I would say that this is a great place to meet friends or take a date for a few cocktails and lite bites. Everything was great although I suspected that our server would have rather been surfing than working. Highly recommend and hopefully next time I can catch the sunset here. read more

My experience here was great. We had shots and cocktails. We had Mezcal cocktails and custom made banana martinis. Our bartender Jenn was stellar in every way, funny, down to earth, and quick with the drinks. The bar is 6 floors up and over looks the beach. The view is great, the drink selection is huge, and the vibe is cool. I give this spot a solid 10/10 I would swing by and grab some drinks again. Didn't try any food so can't attest to that. read more
