Came here for a couple times for happy hour and late night drinks. The view of the restaurant is great, seating is comfy. The drink menu has plenty of choices. The service is good, just a little strict. A friend in the group joined us after having a drink at the reception downstairs, he could bring in the wine glass from the hotel reception. It's the same property. Nevertheless, this is a good place to chill.
Make reservations! I was staying at the hotel so decided to come by. Luckily we had reservations or I think there would be a decent wait. Honestly, it was alright. We waited sooo long to be served once seated, and also really long for the food and drinks to arrive. Very expensive cocktails: $18. Food was expensive and very small portions. Music was quite loud and it was really hard to hear
Overall we had a good experience at Rooftop. The food was great, obviously when you come here you are expecting it to be a little pricey so I wasn't too concerned about the prices. I wouldn't call this place a great dinner spot, not because of the food but because of the atmosphere. Even though we enjoyed all our food, my husband was in a bit of hurry to get out of here because he was really uncomfortable with the seating. The seating is more like patio-style furniture, so the chairs are very low. Since he is on the taller side, his legs were all bunched up the whole time. We had made reservations, but we didn't know that booking "Standard" meant that we were going to be sitting in the hotel pool area... this was probably our biggest complaint. Even though the view was spectacular, it was interrupted by kids jumping in the pool and occasionally splashing us and also just running by us. Also because we were by the pool, our cocktails came in plastic glasses which also made us feel a little slighted, especially since the cocktails are pretty pricey. The service was just okay. Our server was nice and we didn't ever feel like we were being neglected even though we were over by the pool and not in the main area. I just feel there wasn't anything remarkable about the service. I think when you are expecting to pay higher prices for an experience, you want more personable servers. All this to say, we were really happy with all the food we had! We had the 1/2 dozen oysters (my only complaint is that they did not disclose where they were from on the menu so you don't really know what you are paying for and it is pricey), the sea bass ceviche (super yummy!), the lamb, and the prawn special. I did not shut up about how yummy the prawns were all night, even after we left! Anyway, I think I would come back for drinks and maybe a dish or two, but we definitely won't be coming back for date night dinner again.
Visited the Rooftop Bar in Oceanside for some drinks on a beautiful Saturday. It was busy but we were able to get a table, enjoy some drinks with excellent service and then wander over to the bar to visit with the bartenders. Sitting at the bar was a lot of fun, we enjoyed how pretty the bar was, how friendly and personable the bartenders were and how delicious the drinks were. The view here is unmatched, it's worth paying the price for slightly pricey drinks just to drink in the view for a while. Just simply enter the lobby of the Marriott and ride the elevator to the top floor and visit the hostess. Let her know I sent you for absolutely no discount on anything but the view.
Beautiful scenery and view! Came for lunch and we opt for finger food. We got the calamari gave you a leg that is voted and fried it was ok! Didn't care for it. The sea bass was good. It's kinda like ceviche. They gave us taro chip to have with the sea bass. Lastly bread and butter. Wheat like bread toasted and flavored whipped butter. Came here for New Year's Eve I had such a blast I'm a San Diego beach guy thru and thru So the rooftop area was killer the view The vibes were really chill even for new years and I didint feel like I was ever uncomfortable or being over charged thanks
This place is a vibe for sure. I loved the decor and ambiance. The fire place was nice and the breeze from the window was refreshing. We sat at the bar so we didnt get to enjoy the beach view but it was still nice. The drinks were very tasty and the bar tenders were professional. The drinks were made right in front of us. We had a good time.
Hiya B.U.M.S., Visiting Oceanside with the family always promises great coastal views, and taking the elevator up to The Rooftop Bar at Mission Pacific Hotel sets the bar high right from the start. As you walk up to the host stand, you get an incredible view of the beach and the iconic Oceanside Fishing Pier. While our initial table setup was a bit tight and uneven, the seating host accommodated us graciously. Even with a fully booked reservation calendar, she made quick adjustments to move us to a comfortable spot with an unbeatable view. We ordered: House Chips: Crispy and packed with a delicious, zesty BBQ-style seasoning. Shrimp Toast: Easily a standout on the menu--flavorful, savory, and a total hit. Prime Beef Steak: Cooked to a spot-on medium-rare without unnecessary heavy toppings, letting the quality of the meat shine. Shrimp Special & Side Salad: The salad and off-menu shrimp special missed the mark for our personal taste--the shrimp packed a heavy kick of salt and spice that wasn't mentioned beforehand. Despite a couple of food misses, the ocean breeze, stunning scenery, and attentive service made for an enjoyable family outing. We are already looking forward to returning to spend time at the hotel and pool deck! Tips: Book Early: Because the venue fills up fast with reservations, booking in advance gives you the best chance at a spacious table right along the glass railing. Such a wonderful place to celebrate a happy hour for my birthday, Invited by my bestie. The best rooftop views for sure. The pool area is the place to be, the music vibes are another level and nothing like a fall asleep there while listening to the hypnotic sounds and in the background the sound of the waves. What a great life feeling is what you feel at The Rooftop. We got some beers and the eggplant spread of crudites, olives and cheese and the fries and all was great. Servers were attentive and very nice..all excellent.
If you can get a table with a view, it's amazing: especially at sunset. The servers are always friendly. We usually get shareables to eat, and we have liked everything we've tried.
Service here can be spotty but this visit it was good. The shareables are a great option for a group and the food is good. It's pricey but I expect that since it's attached to the hotel. They have a summer concert series that we will check out. It's a pretty setup up and the views are great.
Beautiful views and food with character! Came for a birthday weekend getaway and absolutely enjoyed the personable customer service by Austin at the Rooftop Bar. Food was delicious, drinks were strong...spectacular views! Bliss!

My friends and I were visiting for a Bachelorette party and wanted to try this place. It was confusing on how to get to this bar since it is on the roof of a hotel. We had to go in the hotel and ask for directions. Once we got to the top floor, it had a great view and they were very busy. It was hard to accommodate for a group of 9, but they found seating us seating under some heated lamps. It was nice because it was cold out, especially being next to the beach. Our server seemed like he did not want to be there. We all got our orders in and shared all the food. The oysters were good. The platter with steak and sandwiches were good, but the vegetables were average. The total came out to ~$400, but we were still hungry so we decided to leave and get more food. The prices were extremely expensive, but the pool and atmosphere was amazing. If you're not worried about the price, this is a good place to go to if you enjoy the atmosphere and experience. read more

The rooftop bar at Mission Pacific Beach Resort was a great experience overall. It was very accessible and not hard to find at all, which made getting there easy and stress-free. The ambience was amazing -- stylish, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying the ocean views. I was pleasantly surprised by how lively it was, especially for a Monday night. There were a lot of people, which really added to the energy of the space. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area. read more
We stayed at Mission's and checked out the Rooftop and were throughly happy with the great views underneath heat lamps. The food was very Californian using local ingredients and beautiful plating. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered especially the artichokes. The flavors are unique and creative. We look forward to returning in the future and redoing our exact trip because we loved it so much. I came here with my wife for sunset, we ordered a Mezze platter and our server, Liv suggested we pair it with a bottle of duck horn. It was delicious. They have a very wide selection of liquors and wine. I recommend the steak and prawns with the mezze! The combination was amazing. Food was top tier and high quality. The cocktails took a little while but I must say service made up for the wait. Liv gave us a comedy show on top of excellent service. The entire staff elevated the experience. Who you hire makes or breaks your business and there is something special about the crew that works here. We couldn't stop laughing and Liv made our evening that much better. The ambiance was wonderful. We sat by the glass in very comfortable chairs and stared at the ocean for hours. I will definitely be back! read more

Wanted to have an ocean view for lunch, so I ended up here! Got to sit by the window. It was a nice sunny day to be out! I got the Vadouvan chicken sando and washed it down with the Windansea! All in all, it hit the spot! I will definitely be back! read more

Coming from the beach, hubby and I were craving for seafoods. Walked across the street and checked out The Rooftop Bar. We asked the hostess if they serve seafoods. Little did we know that their servings are pupus to perfectly pair with your drinks. We ordered tuna tartar, bread with garlic butter and octopus to go with our choice of white wine and blonde beer. These "appetizers" were just perfect and canceled our reservations to another place that offers a wider variety of seafoods. Left happy, stuffed and satisfied! Place that time was busy as it was a Saturday and people are finally taking a break from the cold weather. Maybe we will come back when we visit Oceanside.... read more
I love going to The Rooftop Bar, above Mission Pacific Beach Resort, for the spectacular sunsets and fun events. There's always something happening besides indulging in the delicious cocktails and food. This place can get pretty busy especially at the bar...certain times, there's a wait. The ambiance is usually nice and laidback with chill vibes. I also enjoy hearing the live DJs. Overall, it's memorable each time I go there. The Rooftop Bar is definitely a MUST!! Such a vibe! Cool, relaxed, truly a 10/10 spot. One side has views of the ocean while the other side the city. A lot of comfortable, spacious seating. Staff is so friendly and down to earth. Visited on a Saturday night and everyone was so kind and welcoming. I instantly felt comfortable. The music they were playing was also very good. Drink obviously great. 100% you must visit! read more

Michael and Summer were some of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. They were so friendly and accommodating both had genuine smiles on all day. My mom and sister were visiting from out of town and I wanted to show them how Oceanside has changed for the better. I was just walking up to the bar and told Michael im just showing tje family around, he said do they want to see the pool area? I said sure. Well there was an open spot so he let us stay and naturally we jad to order a round of drinks. Followed by another round because rhe views and weather were perfect. We only left because I had plans to show them my hidden watering hole in Cbad. That may be my next review. Overall it was a very pleasent and relaxing visit. read more

10/10 place. My mom and I walked there straight from the train, suitcases and all. We got there and staff were super sweet, even offered to hold our bags for us so we wouldn't have to keep them near the table. Then our server! I wish I remembered her name but she was so super sweet and engaging the entire time, made she we had great recommendations and even tolerated me being a little indecisive on my first drink choice. Not to mention a beautiful view from what looked like practically the entire place. I also enjoyed that each day was somewhat themed in the music so there was pretty much something for everyone, just depending on the day. Although the food is just small plates (don't come starving lol) every thing that we got was amazing that I wanted to personally go ask the manager for every recipe. I've been coming here for years now and this last seating update of theirs has been the best! It's covered now with umbrellas and the seats are comfortable too. All of their remodels have been better and better! Their service is always good but this last visit was great. Just top notch honestly. They changed up their cocktail menu too which I love! It's focused more on local cocktails and I hope it stays that way. A lot of the cocktails seem to have vermouth or grapefruit in them and it's not my favorite, but besides that they are great! My personal favorite was the sunset cliffs drink since it had rum, coconut, lime, pineapple, and a hint of cinnamon. Fantastic combo! I came here on a whim to watch the sunset with a friend during a day trip to oceanside (we drove two hours away). I'm not sure if it was the way we looked or if the server was having an off day, but I felt that our server was rude. He was very short with us, I didn't feel like he even paid attention to us nearly as much as his other tables. Everyone else was pretty attentive. Unfortunately because we had dinner plans elsewhere, we didn't try the food; just drinks. The drinks were very yummy! Not too strong, and I think the straw was biodegradable because it wasn't plasticky, so browny points for that. As beautiful as the view was from the window seats, I think the best view is for the guests of the hotel at the pool. I still really enjoyed the view of the pier. read more

Love love love the rooftop i have some of the best memories there, they have amazing bartenders, music , drinks , the food is alright but everything else makes up for it , one funny story about my last visit is that this chic tried to swipe my purse.. basically me and my friend were at the bar and when we left I left my purse there by accident, when i realized it had been about 5-10 mins we ran back up just to catch her in the act shame on her girls don't leave your purse behind and to this girl i say guuuuurrrll not cool read more

Walked up looking for a table for 2 on a Sunday evening and was told it would be about an hour wait, but the bar area is opening seating. Was able to order at the bar and find a table to sit at in the bar area pretty quickly. Ordered the kampachi crudo and the marinated sea bass to eat. Both dishes were loaded with flavor! The fish in the crudo dish were pretty big pieces and they were delicious. read more

Came here once for yelp elite event and had to come back. The views are amazing! You get the ocean, the pier and the top gun house. The drink I got was similar to a pina colada, it was a little weak on the alcohol part but pretty good. I also really liked the grilled artichoke, very healthy and delicious at the same time, is a win! The chicken sandwich we got was ok, decent but nothing notable. I enjoyed the service as well, there was only one guy when I was there at 4pm on a Tuesday but he was the host and the server, such a happy guy! read more

If you want to pay an extra 6% surcharge + overpriced drinks/food just to have view (btw, it's free from the bench across the street) & attitude from condescending hostesses. The hummus comes with a good-sized bowl of mediocre hummus, but only a couple pieces of naan - so when the offer more naan- it's a surcharge. Drinks were fine, but there's a 6% surcharge just for existing and if you want anything extra they don't give a shit. So, save your money and go for a walk on the beach and go across the street to "surf club." read more

I came here with my friend on a Monday afternoon and as a walk in, we initially were going to do bar seating but there were no seats available so we asked the hostess for a table for 2 and were accommodated to SO well! I love the vibe here and the views on a sunny day are GORGEOUS! The drink I had was yummy, tangy, and really well balanced and my friend said her rose was light and crisp! We shared a charcuterie board and that was also SOOOO good, I 100% recommend! There was a bee flying around the honey and honestly, that's how you know its quality food! This would be such a great first date spot and again, you can beat those views!!! read more

The View was outstanding, the food was top notch, our waitress was patient and attentive ( we were there 1/26/26 during happy hour) . We stayed for several ours because we wanted to watch the sunset and when it got chilly, the space heaters and complimentary blanket made my wife very happy. We were so comfortable we re-opened our tab and ordered more wine. read more
Last night I hosted an event here for my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies group. We attended the Soirée Blanche gala, which was an all-white party in celebration of Labor Day and the end of summer. There was live music and a DJ on the rooftop of the Mission Pacific Beach Resort. We ordered drinks and appetizers and had a wonderful time. The sunset view was spectacular! Service was a bit slow due to the large crowd, but we enjoyed each other's company while we waited for our food and drinks. We also visited the Photo Booth quite a number of times! read more

Margot was amazing to our experience, she was one of the managers that helped our experience be extremely enjoyable. Ruth our server, was fantastic as well. Attentive, kind and knowledgeable. Is a reservation required?
There's an upper level (by the bar) and a lower level for seating. You don't need one for the upper level, but you will need one for the lower level if you want to sit down on a busy weekend afternoon.
