The rolling pin made our wedding cake and man was it delicious I totally recommend this bakery as they were so easy to work with and even did special filling for us! We came back today to pick up our free 1st anniversary cake! So sweet for a bakery to do this. Thank you Rolling Pin!

I recently reached out to Rolling Pin to make cookie party favors for my parents surprise 30th anniversary party. I spoke to them through email and it was very organized and clear. I provided then with a photo as a sample and the color of the writing I wanted and they said they were able to get it done. The cookies came out absolutely gorgeous. They were one of the highlights of the party and my Mom was so excited about how well they came out. Additionally, every year for the past 20 years for Mother's day and Father's day I come to this bakery very early in the morning to pick our my parents respective favorite pastries. Me and my siblings serve the pastries to them for breakfast in bed and it makes their day every year. We normally get raspberry squares, black and white cookie, apple turnovers, cinnamon raisin bread (sliced) and lemon meringue pie. All of those pastries are consistently delicious every time we get them which is why we come back. I also recently discovered that they make different types of scones, besides their classic raisin scones. I had the lemon poppy scone for the first time 2 weeks ago and now I find myself constantly trying to find them in the bakery if I have some spare time to stop by and check! The blueberry scone is also quite delicious and only $2.95! Overall, this has been and still is my favorite bakery growing up and I will continue to be a frequent customer at this establishment.

My beautiful cake AFTER my Florist decorated it. See the light blue border, which was not what I asked for.

If I could give less I would. This bakery was included with my venue and it is ridiculous. Just bc u r "included" doesn't mean u can steal... David's prices r ridiculous for upgrades. If u want flowers u must supply them, ribbons... supply them... Basically any decorations r extra... he quoted me 545.00 for basic sugar flowers which I made in my kitchen... (I make custom cakes) he said they take 10 days and r tons of work and I could buy them if I wanted to and bring them to him... they took me 2 hours.... just sayin... also when I called about a tasting they said come anytime no appointment... this sounded strange... i called 3 times and got the aame answer. after my 45min drive I was told oh... just go online, pick a cake and email the owner... hmmmmm Basically he wants to ice the cake and drop it off. I'm pretty sure he outsources his decorating and that's why he charges so much... if someone wants a ribbon, a flower etc u SHOULD BE DOING IT... silk ribbons, fake flowers... clients should not supply it. I asked for a plain white cake in the end and said I would decorate it myself b4 my wedding... it was becoming too stressful honestly.... He said no problem.... it came all nicked up and with blue buttercream dots... NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR... not the final decision... my Florist ended up decorating my cake... no extra charge bc she felt bad and it turned out beautifully... Now b4 I get a response from rolling pin... just know I have ALLLLLL my emails including what we decided on and your price gouging... and the buttercream was nicked up BEFORE my Florist touched the cake... ALL BRIDES SHOULD CHOOSE ANOTHER BAKERY IF ITS AN OPTION.

Passed by here after eating a few doors down. It's a small place...but pretty. Has all their cakes displayed nicely. I ordered: - gluten-free chocolate cake - bailey's irish cream cake - oatmeal cookie - blueberry scone Nothing much to say here other than it all looks delicious. Just my 2¢ though, they should have/get transparent plastic covers to cover the stuff on top of the counters. So the pastries can be displayed without flies getting to it, or it won't get stale as fast... Other than that, this place is great!

We ask Rene at the Rolling Pin to make a small version of our wedding cake to celebrate our 24th anniversary. Chocolate with chocolate frosting and raspberry filling. It was out of this world! Both in the presentation and taste! There were beautiful flowers on the top and she added an extra touch of a bow around the cake. All of it delicious. We highly recommend the Rolling Pin!! A coworker recently asked me to bring back some cookies since she knew I was flying home to New York. When she said she wanted good quality cookies, I already knew exactly where I was headed: Alpine. Every time I walk into this place it somehow feels like the first time. Maybe it's the nostalgia from going there with my family for so many years, or maybe it's because it's still family-owned and truly has that warm, welcoming vibe. The people who work there are always so sweet, accommodating, and kind, which just adds to the experience. When anyone brings up rainbow cookies, Alpine is honestly the first place that comes to mind for me. They're the only ones I really go to for them. For my coworker, I picked up a pound of assorted cookies so she could try a little bit of everything. Selfishly, I was definitely thinking I should've ordered a box for myself too! She absolutely loved them, which came as no surprise. If you want truly great Italian cookies and pastries, Alpine Pastry Shoppe is the only place that comes to mind for me. I'm so happy to see that they're still open, and I truly hope they remain a neighborhood staple for many years to come.

My wife and I have been here a few times and found Dortoni to be delightfully delicious. Well, for the most part. On our first trip we tried a whole bunch of different baked goods (pastries, cookies, crumbs, cakes, etc.), though one thing we were excited about was their take on the Dubai chocolate sensation via the form of a cake. Unfortunately, it kind of missed the mark, but if you take that snafu aside, everything else at Dortoni is fantastic. For instance, my wife's new favorite dessert is their cheesecake waffle cone (which is exactly what it sounds like). For me, I loved the key lime bomb which was out of this world. There's just a great selection of stuff here that makes you curious as to what they'll have each time you enter. Beyond the baked goods, I will say the staff has been super friendly. Both visits they were helpful, gave suggestions, and (though it was close to closing) offered us some rolls free of charge. It doesn't take a lot to make you feel welcome and they do more than that which is nice to see. Perhaps you won't see what is nothing more than a few tables inside this small spot that you can sit at, but I wouldn't say this is a horrible turnoff. Yeah, maybe Dortoni isn't your bakery/cafe that's going to be a place you stay and enjoy your goods, but it's definitely worth some items to-go. Overall, Dortoni in Port Jeff earns a visit. There are other locations (perhaps even one closer to me) that I might have to check out, but even if I do, I'll at least know that the quality and service in PJ is top notch. I'd gladly return here in the future (and I probably will knowing my wife's new obsession) and you should too!

The cake I purchased for her birthday from another local bakery last year was really dry, so I was pleasantly surprised by this cake. The buttercream frosting was where I felt the cake fell a bit short. It tasted like pure unsalted butter and had almost no sweetness to it, so we ended up just eating the cake center and leaving the frosting. Unfortunate for an expensive cake but based on the other reviews I'm wondering if it was just a one time error.
