Oops! Opening mess ups. They lost our ticket and we waited (with 2 kids under the age of 5, mind you) for 2 hours to get our food once it was ordered! They were very apologetic and compped our meal...but in the end it was just ok pizza. And for a "kid-friendly" place, there's no changing area in the bathroom! We had to leave on that cold, rainy night and change our son's diaper in the back of our car!! The waiter said the manager wants one but the owners don't. Hmmm-who's closer to the customer? This place makes me wish we lived in Phinney. The pizza and calzones are very good. Fresh and tasty. Totally made to order or you can try their specialties. They have special pizza's that share proceeds with local schools and charities! Prices are great, place is clean and the game is always on! Fun to watch a game, or hangout, good for casual date night...but what really makes this place is the Service. Best Service Ever! The waitstaff, the bar tender (who might be the owner?) super friendly. I don't know if they really get along that well or they are just good at faking it, but they seem to have fun and seem to actually care about each other and it shows in their food and service. FYI, for those reviewers (particularly East Coasters) who are saying "Hmmm...it's not deep dish, it's not thin crust..." and seem a bit confused: this is classic California-style pizza. The owner is from CA and the puffy medium-crust style is the standard there. The Ridge does this style of pizza pretty well. Not knock your socks off amazing, but very solid. The bar is cool as well, with a good drink selection and feels cozy. Staff has always been friendly too. Overall, I'd give the pizza 3.5 and the service/vibe 4.5, so it balances out to a 4. read more

The pizza is great. Great options on the menu and truly delicious. It's made when you order, so it's slow. If you're hungry, go elsewhere or order salad/appetizers. It's kid friendly, in that there are a ton of kids there and they seem welcome. It's not at all kid friendly in that there are stairs everywhere, they're constantly packed, and the tables are insanely tiny. Meaning, kids can't really move around safely while waiting on slow food and there's no decent way to put all the beer/wine/food on the table, especially with crayons/books/toys and not have giant cascades of stuff flying off. read more

Great local Pizza Joint. Most Pizza in Seattle is overpriced so I won't hold that against them. The service here was not great but the staff after realizing really made a effort to make our night. That combined with the heavy topping loaded pies and salad made the meal. read more

The service was great on a Saturday night - we were seated quickly and the staff was all extremely helpful and friendly. The atmosphere reflects that of a kind of typical family-friendly bar-type joint, and we found it pretty cozy (but we were also able to sit at the back at a large table just for two of us!, so not sure what it's like toward the front of the establishment). My only qualm is that it is very expensive if you're on a budget, but the pizza (we tried the Firefighter) is DELICIOUS and made with really fresh ingredients. Beer was good too! I came here on a Saturday night. The bartender was very friendly and chatted with us, giving us samples of the beers on tap. We inquired about they pub games and he said they were still in the works but were taking suggestions. The beer selection was decent. Several regulars as well as some guest and seasonal taps. My guest and I ordered a small pizza. It didn't take very long to arrive at 10pm when they were at low capacity. The pizza was very good. Crust not too thin or too thick. Very flavorful with fresh ingredients. I couldn't see any faults with The Ridge while I was there. The pizza is really good and the topping selections are fun. I especially like the community pizzas where they give a buck to a specific charity if you order a specific pizza. Just ok. Service is very friendly and welcoming... when it's given to you - no one is going out of their way for you here. Walking in here feels a little awkward. The space in general is a little weird, the bar makes me feel slightly claustrophobic, the booths are high backed and plain (personally, this makes me feel exposed). The pizza is also just very ok. Like other Yelp reviewers, I found The Ridge OK. The pizza and salad were good, but not great. Kudos, though, for a clever menu. The service was solid, but not fantastic. The ambiance was functional, but loud and somewhat stark (which allowed sounds to be amplified). The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because the bartender/waiter was nice and attentive, otherwise it's the worse pizza I have eaten in Seattle in many years. He pretty much warned me that it was not "artisanal" pizza, and that's an understatement. I'm shocked that this place has 4 stars because the pizza - crust, cheese, sauce and pepperoni was the most bland tasting glob I've ever eaten - worse than any airport food and it reminded me of pizza I used to whip up in the microwave at the Drive-in theatre back when I was a teenager in the mid 1980's (though oddly I think that had more flavor). read more

After trying to go to the Ridge twice, (and they had a super long wait list both times), we finally made it in. The good: -Great service. From the hostess to the waitress to the person filling the water- all very responsive, friendly, professional and present. They were completely on top of it. We felt well taken care of. -The pizza was very good- (yes, it is a pizza place so that is a must but they nailed it). We had basic pepperoni (True Value, I think) and it was delicious. -Nice decor- comfy booths, nice pictures- comfortable and casual yet warm and welcoming. -Kid friendly but they weren't all over the place. A nice mixed crowd- families, people on dates, groups of adults. The so-so: -The chopped salad was lacking in dressing and the lettuce seemed like it was from a bag. -Hubby had beer (which was fine)-- I had two cocktails (yes, I was excited about the full bar). Note: I ordered two seperate cocktails and they basically tasted pretty much the same (with enough differences to know that they weren't the same drink by mistake). Not a fan. Next time I will stick with beer. Bottom line: Stick with the basics. Go for the pizza and beer. Enjoy the good service and the nice decor. read more

Good sense of community in the menu has items that give back to the local school. I love that they promote local businesses in the area and donate to charities when you order certain items on the menu. We were there during the NBA playoffs and they had the game on the TVs. We were super impressed by this little gem! Check out the happy hour, it is one awesome deal, $4 personal pizza that you can anything your heart desires to for a buck each. Delicious turkey meatballs smothered in marinara too! Our server was so nice and attentive. The place was pretty bumping for a weekday eve and I hope they stay around for a good long while! I really love this place. The drinks are yummy and the wait staff bartenders and managers are all very nice and friendly. That being said, about 4 out of the 6 times I've gone there, I ask for lightly baked as I know the make em pretty crispy there, but the pizza comes pretty burnt, like really burnt where the middle is inedible. The staff is always accomodating, so that's great. I just don't go there anymore as I don't like burnt pizza, and as much as I like to complain, I don't enjoy doing it every single time. 5 stars cuz they're so nice and when the pizza is not overdone it tastes pretty splendiferous. I'd been biking past this place for a few months and finally had a reason to stop in--crippling hunger being that reason. Past the moderate but tasteful outside seating area the restaurant and was...nice. As a former English teacher I hate to use such a lame descriptor, but that's what I thought. Let's try for a few more: soothing, well-lit, clean, charming, friendly, warm, and attractive. We weren't really sure how the ordering-for-takeout part worked, so we walked up to the bar, ordered, and were invited by the bartender to have a seat while we waited (and he got us some ice waters). The place is really friendly. The staff is great, the restaurant is well laid-out, and I loved just sitting at the bar. I'd definitely come here to just have a beer and hang out, and that's speaks to the place, I think. It's rare you find a place that you'd like to eat OR just come for a drink, but I think they've got both going on here. I'll definitely be back. *4 stars just because the mixed up the size of our pizza. Not a big deal (still delicious), but I take The Yelp seriously! I went here recently with a friend during happy hour and enjoyed the place. I like the look of the bar plus the fact that families can sit in the main dining area. I loved the way pizzas are named after local business. The HH menu wasn't great, but we both found something we liked (the Cesar Salad was quite good). The barmaid (and I call her that because its rather how she looks and acts) was a little too fake friendly - it was a bit off-putting. Went for the first time tonight and ordered pickup on the phone. When I arrived, the man who helped me let me know they made an error on my order (simple mistake , they added pep not pineapple.) Let them know half was for a vegetarian so they kindly and quickly made me a small pineapple, and comped my meal, even offered me a beer while I waited. I insisted I'd pay (things happen) but they refused and were extremely polite and professional. Pizza was great, nice crust and good proportions. We recommend "the balls" - turkey meatballs in marinara sauce, the Ridge Roll which is like a pizza burrito, and their pizza is delish.
