An amazing heaping lunch portion of mussels
    Kevin C.

We happened to stumble here for lunch on a weekday, and were quite pleasantly surprised. The place was clean, wait staff was friendly and quick, and food was delicious. Our party ordered and split a few items, and I would strongly recommend the mussels - it must have been something like three dozen delicious bites of mouth watering goodness.

Our party of nine had a fantastic Sunday lunch! The food was excellent and the staff was hilarious with our crazy group. We loved the stew, chowder, smoked salmon, and summer risotto-- all delicious! The riddles were fascinating and we even learned a few fun facts about Irish rain from the knowledgeable staff. ‍;) This visit was such a great welcome to Ireland and the best food we ate in the city. Thank you!

This place just opened few months ago and I love it already, the area really needed a place like this! I have been there for lunch and even if the menù is not huge, all the plates looked really good I didn't know what to order! I had soup of the day with sandwich, simple but good! Perfect for lunch break.

2.5 stars. I have eaten here twice now. Restaurant is nicely decorated, and has a central location near Christ Church Cathedral. 1st visit: staff were slow in doing everything. I ordered a bowl of fish chowder from the lunch menu. It was okay, I finished it as I was hungry and was on a short lunch break from work. 2nd visit, (post renovations of getting a pizza oven and not sure what else): My colleagues and I were sat around two large tables, they had our exact numbers but placed us to close together for comfort, (I spent the evening being elbowed or elbowing one of my colleagues), their was no water on the tables, we only got water after three different people asked for some, the card machine was broken so nobody could buy a drink, (why do they only have one card machine?!), and their was a small and extremely expensive selection of drinks. I had three course and two small glasses of red wine as part of a staff work dinner. Wine was okay, but portion was tiny. My mushroom soup was served without any bread or soup crackers and was burnt and way too salty, (we will also not mention the fact that I had to wait with my soup in front of me for a spoon as the wait staff forgot the soup spoons). I choose to get the sole vegetarian option on our small set menu, it was a penne arrabiata, but it was far too spicy. As in instead of a nice flavoursome dish I could not taste anything besides heat, and ended up picking out the pieces of penne pasta to eat, (I love spicy food, hell I grow chilli peppers!, but this was ridiculously spicy). The dessert I choose was the strawberry cheesecake, (now I come from the tradition of making cheesecake with philadelphia cheese, however I have come to expect the gelatin version when eating out), it was awful. It tasted like sugary fake strawberries, and was so bad that I did not finish it. I love cheesecake and I could not finish my dessert, that has to say a lot. In summary, I will no longer be recommending this place for lunch after visiting Chirst Church, and will tell my friends not to visit as it is not worth the time or money.

I had the full Irish breakfast. Best I had so far while touring Ireland. Nice clean spot with good service. Will come again....

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

The portion sizes kind of seem small but that could be because my girlfriend and I split everything and it was basically a couple of bites from each other's dishes. Beautiful, small place that gets packed very quickly. Interestingly enough I thought it was a French bistro, but I believe the owners hail from Ukraine as that is the country flag that was hung outside the shape if my world history learnings are correct. I do wish the bacon side had 2 slices but it only comes with 1. My husband had French crepes with blueberry supreme topping and an order of the potato fritters, which is its own meal. I had hot tea and he had a cappuccino. Be reminded that this is a European sized cup not a giant American size. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals so much so that I left no scraps on my plate. My husband didn't finish his fritters that have avocado on them bc he's not a fan of avocado. He forgot to ask that they be removed. His fault. Very nice young staff. I wish that we had discovered this restaurant sooner bc we would have eaten breakfast there again but we discovered it on our second to last day.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor.
