Eggplant parm calzone was packed with layers of flavor - no bitterness or slimy bland eggplant - and just the right textures from sauce, gooey cheese and crust. The Super Chimi was just a massive messy sandwich. Ate half with a couple free Dr. Pepper refills. Even the simple crinkle fries were salted just right. This place hands down best Dominican food I've had in a while. Big Momma recommends and even gives you a taste if you want. I highly recommend the beef with the rice and beans con plátano frito. Cheap and very yummy Latin food. Staff is incredibly friendly. Only complaint is the Cuban sandwhich is a little too expensive but I still think the Yaroa is the best thing on the menu. Owners are incredibly friendly and if you're a student of university of Rhode Island with a meal plan they take ram bucks so that's always a plus. I don't know why this place is rated so low. This is by far the worst place I have ever encountered. The management is terrible! My friend and I ordered food here and her mom wanted to pay for our food so we ordered and paid over the phone, given her mom's card number. Over the phone, we asked how much was a large calzone and the lady over the phone said $9 for a large so we said we wanted 2 of the $9 ones. When we arrived for pickup, the cashier asked us to sign which made sense since it was a card transaction, however, we saw that they charged us $40 ($20 for each calzone). We then asked why we were charged this much and the girl said 9 + 9 = 18. I was shook. She proceeded to call the manager over since we didn't order $20 calzones and we wanted $9 calzones, however, the cashier did take full responsibility for her mistake which was the only nice thing about this place because the manager is a handful to deal with. We asked for a refund and then to re-order regular-sized calzones but were told we couldn't and could only be given $20 credit for the calzones we didn't ask for. What kind of place can't give refunds and can only give credit back? The manager also asked us for the card we paid with but since my friend's mom paid, we didn't have her card. She then said they shouldn't have accepted our order because we were paying with someone else's card... like I'm sorry my friend's MOM wanted to pay for dinner. They should've clarified that on the phone, rather than to charge us anyway and wait for us to show up with the card. My friend and I were over it at this point because the manager was basically blaming us for having our mom order us food because at one point, she even said and I quote "tell your mom she's paying $40 for the calzones" when we were denied a refund. One of the calzones were freaking burnt and we only ended up eating the other one. I probably would've gotten cancer if I ate the other one. I don't understand how you could serve someone burnt food... I hope this place gets shut down, and if it does, I blame burnt food and poor management. No one like her should be working with that attitude/mindset. The cook, which I'm assuming is her husband, even said he's not remaking the calzone when we asked for a regular-size instead of a large. We were basically just stuck with $40 calzones and had no way out of it, even though we asked for $9 calzones. Everything about this place is complete trash, especially the manager. read more

Came in on a Saturday and ordered two calzones, shakes + fries. The calzones where very good, I recommend the pulled pork with mac n cheese calzone with BBQ Sauce. We had to wait a bit as it was the lunch rush, so the business owner gave us two cookies to try as thanks for being so patient. Cookies are also very good as well as everything else we ordered. Ordered calzones over the phone. Went to pick them up and they told me it would take a few minutes. Sat there waiting for 30 minutes and finally asked again when it'd be done. they told me it had been done for a long time and they were calling my name even though I sat there staring at the front counter and my name was never called and no one looked in my direction when they knew what I looked like. We accepted the food without complaints but the cashier decided to sass us and tell us that she said my name very loudly when we didn't ask questions and we weren't going to argue anything. I do not need to be sassed by an employee when I never started any trouble. I will not be coming back. read more

On the recommendation of a fellow yelper I tried the Buffalo Chicken calzone with banana peppers and I enjoyed it. I ordered the small which is a good size and wasn't able to finish it. My daughter ordered a Hawaiian calzone, a small sweet potato fries and garlic knots. I sampled the fries which were good as were the garlic knots. The order was ready in no time which was surprising as it was at the height of lunch hour. Everything was tasty, I would just recommend they put a little more buffalo sauce on the calzone other than that everything was fine. The calzones do come with your choice of fountain sodas or bottled water. For a small place they have a pretty extensive menu. The owner was very friendly and sincerely thanked us for our business. read more

Super disappointed by this place. I liked it the first few times when I went, but ordered online and am thoroughly upset. Myself and my roommate were trying to get something a little different since the dining hall can get redundant, but this ruined our experience. We ordered food online and received food with things we asked to not be on our food put on it, and when we called to rectify this issue, the woman on the phone was snippy and rude. Eventually got our food "fixed", but the order was still incorrect. Wrong dressings, still wrong toppings. Overall, not worth the hassle. Food was just "eh" and the staff is horrible. One of the single worst experiences with customer service in my life. The "manager" Natasha was hostile, condescending, and BEYOND rude. Here's the story- I'm working late, ordered food to be delivered to my office, not far from the restaurant but still if i wanted to pick it up, i would have. No, instead i added food on until i reached the delivery charge minimum, i agreed to pay the delivery charge and i even added a 15% tip, waited 50 minutes then received a call from the "manager" (according to Natasha, the super rude woman who called me Honey incessantly, everyone on shift is referred to as a manager) telling me to go outside because she's about to bring the food. ... Every other place on campus that delivers will bring it to our office, it was not noted on the website that that was their policy, so why should I have to go pick it up from her? I questioned why i needed to go pick it up form her when i asked for delivery and she started berating me like i was a child. After a few snippy remarks at me she told me she was refusing to bring it now and if i wanted the food i can go pick it up... exactly what she was telling me i had to do anyway even though i asked for, and paid for, delivery. So i said no thanks, keep the food and refund my money. She told me that she was keeping my money because she didn't like my attitude which was calm, but absolutely treading on thick sarcasm by the time she called me Honey for the 4th time. So I asked to speak with the manager, she yelled, 'I'm the manager isn't that convenient?' So i calmly asked, then i'll have the name and number of the owner please. She proceeded to tell me that Karen was the owner and I can call during regular business hours to get her number. Really?? They're open, isn't that regular business hours? So no last name for the owner, no phone number or method to contact her... just call back to get a different manager? Who knows maybe that one will know who the owner is. Long story short (too late) Didn't get the food, paid through the nose for services i didn't receive- but i did get yelled at like i was a 4 year old. This is the second time in 2 years i tried this restaurant. Food was meh the first time, decided its been a while and id give it another shot... BAD IDEA. Will not make that mistake again, and I hope for your sake neither do you. If i could have given less then 1 star i would have. Food is good, but the wait time is CRAZY. Never do you ever get the sauce you ask for on the first try. Whoever answers the phone is always rude and never listens considering half of the things I order don't come out correctly. Nothing special about the place, nothing terrible enough to not go there again, just get nicer people that actually listen. read more
