Their food is really good. Their food is very hardy and you get a good amount for the price. The mofongo is great, all of their meats are great too. Highly recommended and friendly service. read more

I saw this restaurant as a suggested restaurant on a meal delivery app one day and thought about trying it out but hadn't gotten around to it. Two days ago, I drove by it on an errand run. The restaurant looked nice and clean from the outside so I decided I would definitely stop by soon. Glad I did because the food is delicious. My husband isn't really into Dominican food so he didn't want me to bring anything back for him. I did get a medium sized plate of rice and beans with beef stew and I saved him a little so he could try it. He was impressed and enjoyed it so I think I may have turned him into a fan. It's a little pricier than the places in providence but so much closer. I guess you could think of it as an offset in gas prices if you live more towards the south. I ordered some sweet plantains as a side and they made it fresh. Super delicious and the host was very nice. I wasn't sure if I would be back but now I'm certain I will. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Only fresh ingredients are used and the food is prepared to order or made the same day, no reheated food here. Their empanadas are out of this world. You have to try their new guava and cheese empanada! The pizza empanada is good, too. The employees are very friendly and the service is fast. You can dine in and carry out. read more

Revisited and glad I did. Still run by the same lovely family. Great portion sizes, taste, and price. The pork shoulder and moro rice is fantastic! I hope to get some cake on my next visit- it's so good, it sells out quickly. read more

Very good food that's also cheap! I came here for dinner with a friend and realized it's more of a casual place. Many people were coming in and out to pick their orders. You can tell that the food is home-cooked! It was so delicious and the service was great. I ordered the beans and rice with pork shoulder. My friend also enjoyed her plantains. read more

The food at La Casita is very favorable and you get large portions. Everything we have tried has been so good. The Cuban sandwich is delicious and the best I have ever had. The empanadas are a must get every time! Love the chicken ones and the cheese ones. They don't skimp on the filling in them. The beef and chicken dishes are so tender. The owners are the nicest people. You are greeted when you walk in with a smile and you can tell they genuinely have pride in what they are cooking and care about their customers. They make it a pleasure to go in there! Try the new pepperoni empanada. You will not be disappointed. We tried it yesterday and it's a hit!! Looking forward in the future trying the homemade Tres Leche cake which is always sold out. If you haven't tried La Casita give it a try today. You will be very happy you did! read more

Stopped in for a quick bite with my wife and couldn't have had a better meal. Very friendly staff and delicious food. We split a $20 lunch special and everything was divine. There was a steady stream of what looked like repeat customers as we ate which is always a good sign. read more

I've eaten here about ten times, so I feel it's time to update my review. I think I was a bit over-enthusiastic with my initial 5-star rating. Don't get me wrong, I still think they're good, but I think I need to adjust downward (slightly) for the following reasons: One, they run out of certain things early, and it's not like they have a lot of choices to begin with. Two, I've gotten big chunks of fat in some of the meats. Three, it's hot as heck in there (but usually I get my food to go, so that's a minor issue). Otherwise, this is a great option for good, home-cooked (or at least as close to it as you can get) Dominican food. Friendly owners/employees too. Recently, my wife and I have become addicted to their Cuban sandwiches, which they serve with fries. Pair that with their Tres Leches cake for desert, and you will have one happy belly - Roo guarantees it! read more

Great food!!!! A new Dominican style place with homestyle food and a staff that makes you feel like family. We were so pleasantly surprised to stop in to try the new restaurant and found a beautifully decorated restaurant. It is truly unique and lovely. There were a few choices for food and the owner took the time to explain what each dish was. We tried a couple of different dishes and just had to try the homemade empanadas. I had chicken with pasta which was so juicy and seasoned perfectly. I thought it was unusual to have pasta with Dominican food but it went well and was very tasty. We did not try the pork chops which were made to order but that is the plan for the next time. Definitely a next time! read more

Being completely honest, I have NO IDEA what Dominican food should taste like. I made an assumption it would be spicy (something I like within reason) and am surprised to find it is not spicy in the least. Well, not the dish I had. So, first off, Yelp has been listing La Casita as a hot new business so I made a point of heading that way one day for lunch. The interior is bright and cheery with a variety of welcoming items on the walls. The furnishing are new and offer a variety of seating options, mostly high stools with no backs, but there are a few tables too. Lots of folks were getting take out but there were a few dining in when I arrived. Straight across from the door is a counter where the cooked food is kept warm. You tell the staff there what you would like, and how much (small, large) and he puts it together while you watch. I had a few questions about the food and he asked the cook, Julia, if she could help me out. Just trying to be sure I don't eat something that will make me break into a rash. She was very nice and we chatted a bit about the food. I ordered a small and the amount of food is SO MUCH. I actually told him 'that's enough' a couple of times. They want to be sure everyone is happy. I ordered the stew which is served over beans and rice. It was quite good. Very mild in flavor, well cooked. I love beans and rice so pretty much anything over that works for me. Everything looked so good and I wish I could try it all, but since I don't want to make myself (literally) sick, I'll just enjoy the smells. If you were thinking 'oh no, I don't like spicy food' rest assured, you will enjoy this food. If you are unsure, just ask, they are very friendly and want everyone to enjoy their meal. Although not pleased everything is served in styrofoam, I do plan to return. Maybe they'll let me use my own reusable container? They offer a regular rotation of daily specials and there is one particularly I want to try. Just need to put it on my calendar and make a plan to get out there. read more

Brand spanking new, still working on their setup and time management. Dropped by for lunch today around 12:45 and the steam table was not completely stocked yet. They have a few selected choice for the day. Today was the carne guisada (none ready) The baked chicken( just finished cooking) And the roasted pork shoulder(the only protein that was ready) And the 3 different types of rice, beans, salad was ready to be served. The combo prices aren't bad but I think $4.00 for tostones is high. So I selected the pernil with Moro de Gandules and the salad. The rice was nice fluffy and flavorful. The pork had some good pieces and some really dry pieces. The salad was shredded iceberg and tomato slices dressed with white vinegar and oil. Tostones was made to order so it was nice and hot Sliced too thin for my liking. I hope they add to the menu with more choices as they grow the business. Good luck on the new restaurant! read more

Really really good homecooked Dominican food. Huge portions. For $8, you get a plate of rice and your choice of meat. The rice is so flavorful. We have tried the beef stew meat and pulled pork meat (though a bit fatty) and both were tasty. Get a few beef empanadas too. You won't be disappointed! read more

Probably one of my favorite Dominican restaurant . The beans are cooked the way it's supposed to be, not filled with tons tomato sauce like most Dominican restaurant serve it. These beans are the real deal . That's how it should be cooked . The restaurant is in Warwick meaning no more driving to elmwood or broad st if I want Dominican food . I tried the Moro, it was cooked to perfection . Everything I got was cooked just right . The kitchen you can actually look in , and it makes me feel safe about what I am about to Ingest. They take debit and credit cards . It's small but really nice . The decoration and the layout of the cafeteria is nice, simple and you are in and out. Overall , the food tastes like home cooked meal . read more

Wandered in off the street with Zvck after gym. Small place seats 16 at several tables and a counter, nice clean interior. Simple but cozy. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Dominican cuisine served cafeteria style which i like as you can see the food before ordering. Zvck went with a couple chicken empanadas $2.50 each and fried plantain chips that remind you of McDonalds fries. nice. I opted for the roasted pork shoulder -the pernil, some red beans and rice and and the house spaghetti. Ok listen this food is the s@#t! excellent Dominican cooking! The pork was flavorful and tender the beans and rice on point and the empanadas are crispy and stuffed with seasoned pulled chicken (other fillings available). The plantains are straight crack. Best of all with drinks we walked out of there spending under $25. Give this place a go I know we will be back soon. read more

I walked in to La Casita for the first time to place an order, and less than 10 minutes later was on my way home to try what turned out to be AMAZING food. The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly and provided quick service. I ordered beef empanadas, a Cubano (served with fries), platanos maduros (fried sweet plantains), and a medium plate that included pulled pork, rice & beans, and a side salad with lime dressing. The prices were great, and the food was incredible. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful, and empanadas were fried to order and left me wanting more! The medium plate was enough to split into two meals, and the leftovers reheated well. Don't forget to try the passionfruit juice! 10/10 would recommend La Casita, and will be ordering again soon! read more

FRESH AUTHENTIC DOMINICAN FOOD! This place is GREAT! Amazing home cooked Dominican food without the hassle of driving to Providence or surrounding areas. I've gone to plenty of Dominican restaurants on Broad St in providence. Always a nightmare! From the traffic, to the long lines and wait time to finding a parking spot. I am SO Thankful to have a GREAT restaurant close by. The portions are very generous but light on the pockets! Everything is FRESH! ALL of the meat is tender and melts in your mouth. Each time I've visited I ordered the stewed beef, cooked with carrots, potatoes and a great flavorful sauce. Every dish is accompanied with a homemade house salad, fresh rice and tender beans. The delivery is serviced by GrubHub. They're fast and food is always HOT HOT HOT, which is GREAT! If you've never had Dominican food and want to step out of your comfort zone give this place a try! OMG the food was soooooo delicious! Ordered the medium plate. Was a little sad they ran out of pork chops, but that tells me a) they don't just let food sit day to day and b) I need to order well before they are closing to get what I want. Quite a find. Wow! I took my wife and kids here for dinner what an awesome family owned/run place. Attentive and friendly staff. Clean, delicious and super fresh food. Casual dining room order at the counter seat yourself. Their rice is perfectly cooked. I wanted to have one of everything almost. I chose the pork stew. Delicious and tender bursting with flavor. I had also had extra stew sauce over the rice. The salad has a house made dressing tasted extremely fresh and crispy. They had chicken fingers and fries for the little one. The dessert flan and tres leches cake were amazing. The flan creamy and delicious. We definitely will be back. I want to try the oven roasted chicken and pork chops soon. The pulled pork was also very flavorful. You can't have a bad meal here.
