I haven't been here in a while, but I'm so glad I decided to come back. The view is amazing no matter where you sit. They have an outdoor seating area which we sat in today. The staff is very friendly and the service was great. They brought the food out within 39 minutes of ordering. The portion size was large enough that we took home leftovers. The fish is very fresh and the seasonings they use were tasty. The pricing is also great as most meals were in the 30 dollar range. It's worth the trip and I think you'll be very satisfied.

Baked Brie with Crostini & Jam

My cousin & I treated ourselves to a special Newport Restaurant Week dinner at 15 Point Restaurant last night. For $45 each, we got a delicious 3-course dinner. Our reservation was early enough that we were able to enjoy the gorgeous water views for a little while before the sun set completely. Both the food and service were superb. We each ordered a glass of wine (Relax Riesling for me). We were first served warm, crusty bread and olive oil with roasted garlic cloves. Our appetizers arrived shortly thereafter; we had both ordered the phyllo wrapped baked Brie served with crostini and a dollop of jam. So good and such a large portion that we each brought half home. Again, we each ordered the same for our entrees: a baked half lobster with seafood stuffing, served with a baked sweet potato and asparagus. Despite the amount of food it was so delectable we finished all of it. Dessert was where we differed. My cousin had the Key Lime pie; I had the Beignets, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They weren't true Beignets, more like small cinnamon sugar donuts, but absolutely yummy. Needless to say, we left the restaurant totally sated. We're looking forward to returning in the summer so we can enjoy a meal on their patio overlooking the water. Highly recommended!

Service, entrees, dessert, vibe...this place has it all. Just polished off an amazing dinner that hit the spot after driving for a few days up from Florida. This was just what we needed. Highly recommend. I had the baked stuffed shrimp which was so yummy! My mom had a delicious swordfish which was spicy but absolutely tongue-ticklingly perfect. My husband devoured the farm and sea which was truly the best of both worlds. The show stopper however was the pecan crusted salmon. The curry sauce was unexpected, but so so so good! Will definitely come back the next time we are in town!

I agree with other reviews that this place is good but not quite all the way there yet. First, if you want steak, definitely go with the prime rib as the most bang for your buck. Almost every table we passed, someone was sawing away at a gigantic slab of meat. Second, the beautiful location right off the water is quite the draw. We came in right on the tail-end of a random summer thunderstorm and got a table in the upstairs area, which wasn't bad, but the patio would've been nicer. Third, the food was a little uneven. The bread basket at the start was actually the highlight of the meal. I love that it came super warm, with a stellar garlic/olive oil dip. My parents and I could have eaten two more rounds of that. My dad's chicken nanaquacket was the surprise stand-out: it tasted like an interesting twist on Thanksgiving dinner, with lingonberry sauce, chopped walnuts, and apple brandy sauce. My only nit is that the presentation looked a tad sloppy (see picture of how it looked when it got to the table). Wish the menu contained more salad options than a caprese (which was all right, the tomatoes did not taste fresh for being the height of summer). Also, the amount of gazpacho was on the stingy side for $6, it came in a cup and was a few mouthfuls. My scallops were cooked well, though instead of the sweet potato option, the previous iteration of risotto would've been a better carb. The service lagged a bit, which I can understand for Saturday night in prime season, but towards the end, it got to be the where's-our-waitress game. There was a lull between our appetizers and the entrees, and then again with getting our check and paying. If you're not in any rush (and if you don't hose down your food like yours truly), this is a nice place to sit and chat without anyone trying to rush you out.

Never fails! Always a delicious meal! We called ahead for outdoor water view reservations, it couldn't have been more perfect. The food is always delicious, the ambience is phenomenal and the customer service is top notch! I had the Chicken Nanaquaket - Sautéed breast of chicken with apples, julienne of celery, lingonberries, chopped walnuts & apple brandy butter served with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. Omg. Soooo delish!

Baked Stuffed Shrimp

15 Point Rd is probably one of the most "Rhode Island" restaurants there is. A great location, right on the water, with friendly staff and a menu full of delicious options; it is always a five star experience! We got to sit on the deck this past visit and enjoyed the sunset while sipping local wine and a delicious meal. I went with the baked stuffed shrimp, which was delicious. But I have yet to ever have a bad meal, or bad view here, so you just can't go wrong with anything you choose!

Ask the Community - 15 Point Rd

Does 15 Point Rd. accommodate large groups?

Not normally. We had a group of 12, and when we made the reservation they let us know they would have to split the group into two groups of 6 with separate servers and deperiate checks.

Do they serve food at the bar?

Yes, full menu available at the bar :)

Their food is always delicious - we've loved the Nime Chow appetizer, sushi, and noodle dishes. One thing that makes me take a star off is the very strong cleaning product smell - we've only ever gone later at night so assumed it was like this in the last hour or two before they close, but perhaps it's all day long. It's so strong it starts to give me a headache, and an employee started mopping right near where I was eating which made the smell even worse (isn't that a big no no in general??) They really need to dilute their products per what I'm sure are the instructions on the bottle telling them to do so, or use something else. I feel awful for the employees having to work with it or be around it for extended periods. It seems most people do takeout here, so maybe they remember the strong cleaning smell and just take it to go. Sometimes the line to pick up takeout goes through the whole restaurant and puts me on edge if I'm trying to eat in the dining room. Service is typically pretty friendly and quick, but at least once I've been here when the dining room was slammed and only one server was working. She was crushing it, but it was still a ton of juggling and making people wait that wasn't great for the experience. I tried the Vegetarian Ramen today, having never tried their ramen before. No chopsticks were provided, so I used a fork and knife, which felt a little wrong. It was pretty good but a little lacking in flavor and seasoning to be honest. There was only one piece of tofu - it was a decent size, but similarly priced ramen with tofu at other restaurants always has more like 3 pieces, so that felt a little lacking. I was a little underwhelmed today but do typically enjoy their food.

This…read morefamily-run restaurant has only been open about a year, but it already feels like an established part of the local dining scene. A nice space. We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

The cauliflower bites were another favorite--fresh, crunchy little nuggets tossed perfectly in honey mustard. I originally thought the sauce would come on the side for dipping, but I actually loved that they were coated so evenly. So good! Hubby had the Rubenesque sandwich, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. There was also a steady stream of people picking up online orders and grabbing food to go, which definitely made us feel like this is a local favorite.
