So when friends asked if I were interested in joining them for an art exhibit, followed by dinner at Oceano, I could not say YES fast enough. I am thrilled to say the wait was worth it. All the chips fell into place when after a small wait we were seated outside (what luck), found our waiter was from Croton-on-the-Hudson (had to wait a year before he was able to land a job at Oceano), and our food was paced perfectly. Started with the Grilled Cucumber Salad that included sumac-labneh, medjool date, berbere spice pickle, pistachio, and the Sugar snap Pea Salad of rhubarb, pecorino, stracciatella, mint, lemon, marcona almond. Next up, Pizza! Had to of course start with the Straight Shooter Pizza which was a simple pie of tomato, mozz, basil, pecorino, good olive oil. Pizza #2 was the Zuchinni Pizza, a white pie of hazelnut, lemon, asiago, mozz, parm, stacciatella. To round out the meal we had the Gnocci Sardi. This was an utterly delicious bowl of pasta that included duck confit, morels, peas, parm, creme fraiche, fines herbs, wild ramps. Super meal with smiles all around. There are two restaurants I feel are super deserving of a Michelin Star in my area, and Oceano is definitely one of them! Not super close to me, but I see a few summer nights at the bar with a salad, pizza, and glass of wine in my future.

Came in for Happy Hour with a reservation, but it still took a couple minutes for the hostess to find us a table. We were sat, server came over to get our drink order in and then the fun started! We had cocktails, we had fresh bread, we tried at least 5 things from the Happy Hour menu and 2 different desserts, and everything was good. A couple things were even great!

Unless I'm driving, I always start off my meal with one of their cocktails. My two favorites are their piña colada and bloody Mary. They're both tall, strong, and flavorful - perfect while watching to waves crash into the shore. I would also recommend their spanakopita when it's on their specials. Manny, thank you for the kindness and safe service you have given us. You are usually the first person who takes care of the Buccan Family. You create the smile before we walk in the doors of Buccan or Imoto. Thank you. Solang' (my spelling is probably wrong and I apologize): You are such a beautiful soul. Thank you for your kind words to Laura as we left. Kindness makes a difference. While kindness is free, sincerity is priceless. Wow, I haven't even chatted about the food.
