I'm use to them serving wing pieces but since there is a wing shortage, whole wings is what you get. I don't care for whole wings. My friend had the French dip and she really enjoyed it. It's located in Birmingham within the Lakeview area. I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat from the menu but when I saw the server bring the quesadilla out to the table next to me I knew I had to have it. My quesadilla had chicken and shrimp and it was the bomb dot com the waffle fries were the bomb as well. I love a potato! The ambiance is super chill and drink are so fresh. We had a couple of plates which was good for the most part: Artichoke dip - so delicious and with the pita chips it was the perfect paring Mozzarella sticks - perfect for the kids and so crispy Sliders - very filling and so flavorful Macaroni and cheese - everything with bacon is better!! This pasta was so good my daughter ate it all and is so picky. Grilled chicken wrap - it had so much flavor and the waffle fries were so crispy Brussel sprout Cesar salad - here is where we list the star. It's not a Brussel sprout salad it was all romaine. When I was about to send it back the chef came out and said they serve it with Brussel sprouts but the cost was too much. So they should probably just change the name of that salad to classic Cesar salad. It also had too much dressing so I wasn't a fan. read more

Maybe it was just a bad day. This place isn't worth it. On arrival you can tell the type of vibe they're going for but they drop the ball. Lightbulbs are out, the seating is falling apart. Dust all over! we ordered the French dip as well as the fish and chips. The French dip was SALT city. I couldn't taste anything but salt. The fish are bite sized, batter only and the pasta salad is flavorless. The two drinks I ordered weren't available so the bartender/ server mixed me up a drink. It was okay. She was really nice, But her service was all over the place, from being the only one there to running across the street to other restaurants for ingredients The experience wasn't the best. personally I wouldn't recommend going here, but I can see the appeal for anyone who may be looking for a more open ended, unserious environment with a laid back atmosphere. 3/10. read more

We visited here as it was one of the few places open during the snow storm. They have a traditional bar and a few table/booth seats. The service was exceptional here. I was surprised that the setting was moreso a bar after "glancing" at pictures in Yelp, but it was very clean and quaint. My friend ordered the sea bass and he felt it was amazing! We stopped in with our kids for an early dinner. The space is small but has a really cool vibe. Their smash burgers are excellent! The wait staff/bartenders were also on their game. The food was good. The servers were nice, but it was fairly busy. It took a minute for someone to take our order, but after that everyone was fairly attentive. My friend would have ordered another drink, but a half the bar was closing out their tabs after our food came. Wow! This place is a hidden gem. In fact, my husband and I had never heard of it until our son introduced us. The Refinery is located in the Lakeview area next to Lou's Package store. One tip, however, is to be prepared to drive around because parking can be a problem. This place offers a full bar and a few signature drinks. One reason we visited was that my son had raved about the Key Lime Martini and he definitely knew what he was talking about. This drink tastes just like a key lime piece of pie! Another drink worth trying is the chocolate martini. The presentation of this drink is pretty and the taste was like chocolate mark, but not overally sweet. The last drink that we tried was the strawberry mojito. Some people don't like mojitos because they don't like the mint taste. This particular drink has some mint but it is not overpowering. The best part is the chunks of fresh strawberries. I will definitely be back! read more

This place is AMAZING! Literally found it by Googling places to eat and this popped up with several other results. But what stood out was them menu. My wife got the wings. She said she only wanted a couple but ate all of them. The waffle fries were hot and fresh. Cousin ordered the quesadillas that's she loved and her husband ordered the club on croissant which he also loved. But what really stood out to me was the appetizer item. They called it a corn dog but trust me. This was way better. It was a conecuh sausage corn dog. This item right here was the best thing I've had in months of not years. Soooooo good. But to our amazement and surprise, the food we ordered was just great. Kudos to Chef Ceaser! He really knows what he is doing in the kitchen. It was the server who was the absolute worst! He didn't know anything. When asked a question, he would reply - 'I don't know' (approximately 4 times). He didn't even inform us that the food we ordered actually came with fries so we had ordered truffle fries as the appetizer. We would have ordered a vegetable. Just horrendous. The hubs and I decided to venture to some place new for dinner. After doing some research I decided on The Refinery. I had seen reviews about this place several times and he just never giving it a try until last night. It definitely did not disappoint. The location looks small but it actually very nice inside. The decor is great! There was only 1 staff member and the owner, Heath, there. Heath cooked us up some amazing food and then came out and had an amazing conversation with us! I came here last week for the first time. I'd heard of this place and was actually thinking it would be a super fancy, reservation only kind of restaurant. Not the case, and that's not a bad thing at all. It just means you can have good food and come either dressed up or in a t-shirt/jeans. The space is pretty small with either booth or bar sitting. The interior is absolutely beautiful and newly renovated. It looks like something the Property Brothers did! The food was delicious. There were several items on the menu that looked good to me so I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here. It was hard for me to choose, but I ended up ordering the lobster corn dog with conecuh and the turkey club. The bartender told me that waffle fries came with my food and asked it it was okay. Umm...yes! I love all fries, and waffle fries are probably my favorite. These fries were more golden and much more crispier than the Chick-fil-a waffle fries. I LOVED them! They presented my food very nicely as well. The turkey club I had was delicious and much larger than I had expected. The croissant was perfect. I was full! For $10, it was a simple but affordable dinner I would probably tell you to branch out and suggest a filet mignon they serve if you're going for dinner. I could definitely see my meal as the perfect lunch if you work close by. They are typically open until midnight, but the kitchen does close before then, so if you come after it's just the bar. After spending a Saturday morning out on the town with my family at the Pepper Place Market and then hitting up The Summit, my mom and I were craving a lowkey spot and a light bite. The Refinery was the perfect pick! We drove around 7th Ave and spotted this ducked off spot. The inside definitely feels more like a bar and has majority bar seating, but it was such a nice day, my mom and I grabbed a seat outside. The wings were amazing (fried and then baked ) and the chicken on The Chicken Sandwich was grilled so so well! Be careful though, because The Chicken Sandwich is really two sliders (still very filling). The wings had like a dry rub seasoning on them which I absolutely loved, that I didn't even need to dip them in the ranch dressing that came with it. The waffle fries were such a great compliment to the wings, which I believe they were seasoned with the same seasoning they put on the wings. I wish I knew what that seasoning was because that is what made my meal delicious. Another coworker tried the Brussel sprout salad, but looking at the plate and the way she explained it was that it was disappointing and it did not have that wow factor for her.
