Hamburger steak with mushroom and onion gravy , fried okra, and mash potatoes ( no gravy ). Lunch special- so good!!!
Gabe P.

The only reason this wasn't a five star review is because my lunch order wasn't hot, very lukewarm. Now the food was absolutely delicious!!! I had the hamburger steak with mushroom and onion gravy , mash potatoes (no gravy) and fried okra. Before coming here for lunch , I heard all about how good the okra was!! It did not disappoint and I really wish I had ordered two orders of okra. Next time , I will!!!! My friends had veggie plates and chicken finger meal . They enjoyed their food as well . They really enjoyed the veggie kabobs. I didn't taste them but they certainly smelled wonderful!! Overall we were very pleased with our dining experience. Fast service , pleasant hostesses and great food!!! This was my first time eating at Oak hill bar and grill, but I am already looking forward to going back!

Lemon icebox

Came in and had to try their pie. Tried the lemon icebox and coconut. Clear winner - lemon! Best I've ever had. Service was attentive and friendly. That lemon pie was seriously a life changer.

Gam's Patty Melt

My wife and I ate at Oak Hill Bar & Grill this past Saturday, December 17, 2022. We had a gift card and it was a beautiful day. The atmosphere is great and better than our recent visits to Diplomat Deli and The Ridge (both in Vestavia). We were immediately greeted and seated at a table even though it was a busy day. Our server was Ivy; she did a superb job with a friendly attitude and knowledgeable suggestions. Our order: Fried Dill Pickle $7.50 Shrimp Po Boy $ 11.50 (extra sauce added $1.50) Gam's Patty Melt $11.00 Lemon Ice Box Pie $4.25 The dill pickle appetizer was delicious - salty and extremely hot in temperature. I appreciated that we were immediately served this tasty dish. The batter was light and the pickles were thin. It was nicely salted and perfect with the light ranch dressing. Both of the entrees were delicious. The Patty Melt was so good! The bread was well toasted and bacon was included inside. I dipped the sandwich in the sauce that we requested with the Shrimp Po Boy; it was incredible. The Shrimp Po Boy bread was also perfect and so were the shrimp. I preferred the Patty Melt; my wife preferred the Shrimp Po Boy. French fries were good not great; fried green tomato was all so in the good-not-great category. A neighboring diner suggested we pick the Lemon Ice Box pie for dessert. It had a zesty lemon punch and creamy whipped topping. Very high marks! My scoring: Fried Pickles: 5/5 Patty Melt: 5/5 Shrimp Po Boy: 4.75/5 Lemon Ice Box Pie: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Total: 27.75/30 which is a solid A-. I'm rounding up because it is Christmas, so five stars!

Shrimp PoBoy!

First time here for lunch, nice atmosphere. Food was really good. I had the shrimp po boy. You get a lot of shrimp on that beast! Again in this area to be guaranteed a seat come early. Wait staff was more than hospitable, will definitely be back.

Horrible staff with no manners art all. The only way they seem to acknowledge you is by bumping into you and still not speaking.

While we were making the move from Texas to North Carolina we stopped in Tuscaloosa for the night…read more I wanted to try a restaurant downtown since it was our first time in this town and the Avenue pub came highly rated. Parking is manageable, but you'll need to find parking either in front or to the side of the restaurant. When you walk in it has the feel of a polished, upscale pub. We were seated and immediately ordered the bacon burger (which comes with a 1/2 a pound of ground beef with provolone and bacon). I also would recommend adding grilled onions to the burger and upgrading the fries to pub fries (seasoned fries topped with shaven Parmesan, mozzarella, and chopped bacon). The peppercorn ranch that is especially good and tied everything together. If you are looking for a craft burger spot in the heart of Tuscaloosa, I can't say enough good things about this place and it's absolutely worth checking out.

Me and wife came here for lunch after seeing reviews…read more I'll start with staff. They were very friendly and we were seated right away. For food I ordered the chicken club and wife got the fish and chips. The club was good not amazing. Both the sandwich and fries were a little too salt heavy. The fish and chips were ok. Not the best but not bad. Again fries little to salt heavy. I'd go back if someone really wanted to eat there but wouldn't choose this place.

They have long community tables as well as the most cozy tucked away booth for a group as well as rooftop seating. This is really great space for groups or even just you and a friend. Or, even if you want to go grab a bite and a beer after work there's a long bar you can sit at, too. The vibe is very laid-back, but also trendy which I love and the food is phenomenal. Last night I got the double burger and the bun was perfectly buttered and toasted, and the two patties with the cheese was super juicy. It does have a black pepper aïoli on it, which the pepper flavoring is definitely prominent, but it was still very good. I really love the fact that they do Fresh house cut french fries. It's really about the details! They are very known for their corn dog, just trust me, it's super fun. But everything I've ordered is always very good, they used to have the best lamb burger in town and I still dream about it! I also really appreciate that they have an extensive list of drink options from homemade unique cocktails to beer to wine and nonalcoholic beers and mocktails. There is something for everyone. They also have a lot of specials during the week as well as other activities like trivia on Wednesday nights. Their location will be moving in the beginning of 2025 but go check this place out!

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

Sat at the bar and for the majority of the time i was the only person there. If this is a "brewery" why did they only have two of their own beers on tap? very strange. I noticed what looked like a board that used to list all their own beers on tap that was abandoned and now just a sad white board lists their two beers and a bunch of other standard beers you can get on tap anywhere. Supposedly they have a kitchen? i saw no menu, or kitchen hours, or anything about any food. Bartender only appeared to refill my glass then quickly disappeared into the back room. If you dont want beer they have a very sad hard liquor selection that looks on par with a college kids apartment. The kicker was when closing out on the ipad the tip amounts were defaulted to 25%, 35% or 45%! Very generous amounts for pouring a beer, i decided to leave my own amount for a tip.
