I visited Pies & Pints this afternoon for lunch, and I have to say I am CRAZY for never stopping by this place before! Multiple people have raved about how good it is, and I've been meaning to try it for years. It's been around the corner from my job as long as I've been working there, but I'd always put it off or find some reason or other not to go. The entire experience was a ten out of ten. I was greeted as soon as I stepped foot into the restaurant. The bar is right in the front just past the host stand, and one of the bartenders welcomed me and handed me a menu to review for my order. She even offered me something to drink while I decided what I wanted. I looked up from the menu when I was ready to order and there she was, ready to take my order. I waited about 15 minutes for my food, and that was all. It was such a lovely experience. The whole vibe of the place was laid back and comforting. I felt relaxed as soon as I walked in and just having someone welcome me when I enter means the world to me. I was in a big hurry today, so I really appreciated the in and out service. Love love love this place! I ordered the small sriracha shrimp pie. It was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. They weren't gummy and overcooked like I was afraid they'd be. A lot of places have trouble with shrimp because they cook so fast, but I was very satisfied with my order. Overall, I'm happy that I finally tried Pies & Pints.

It's pizza and beer two words come to mind, perfect combo. This place has so many different unique pizza and they're all delicious. A long list of beers and ciders so you can't go wrong. You will not be disappointed with the vibe, the staff and of course the meal.

Let me tell you about my tantalizing taste bud two-step I had ! Who doesn't love pizza right? I'm a thick orignal pan type girl ,gimme some thick ,so I was a little weary about how much I would enjoy pizza from here . My homegirl and I were starving, both indecisive but quickly decided on Pies and Pints . I've frequented this establishment simply from picking up orders for Doordash, yet I've never are here before . The menu is filled with unique pizza with what you would assume would be strange on pizza . I was stuck between the Nashville HOT chicken pizza and the Chicken Gouda. I asked our server DANNY which would he suggest ,he quickly said the Nashville add jalapeño. Say less . That's what I got . I'm not a fan of beer but I will drink a ginger beer, He recommended the crabbies Rasberry ginger beer . My friend ordered the Elotes pizza. I'm from California so elotes runs through my veins. WHEN I TELL YOU ,I AM BAMBOOZLED, bewildered even at how epicly delicious the pizza was !!!! I'm a huge fan of pickles, but on pizza the most amazing touch . The pizza was drizzled with some creme concoction that was the perfect touch. The jalapeño added heat and a nice crunch. The elotes pizza was delicious as well . The corn kernels were soft however didn't make the pizza soggy at all . The tajin and added green onion was perfect. The crabbies raspberry beer was smooth with a robust raspberry flavor. Absolutely divine. Now understand I don't leave 5 star reviews unless it's just that 5 stars . If I could leave 10 I would . You've gain a new faithful customer Ask for Danny, he's the sweetest gentle giant and so accommodating. He was attentive and knowledgeable of the entire menu. Give him a raise .

Love this place. Service is fast, and they always check on me. Tons of local and regional beer options. Garlic bread with cheese is good. It's like a roll split in 2. Lots of yummy pizza sauce on the side.

Great service and big selection of beers and pizza! We were able to taste a couple different pints before settling on Southern Prohibition Foot Clan. It was great if you like a fruity Berliner. We started with the pizza skins and yes pizza and potato skins had a baby and you got pizza skins. So very good as just the right amount of mashed potatoes on the pizza! Also, highly recommend asking for some gorgonzola dip as it adds another level of flavor!! We settled on the CUBAN PORK with caramelized onions, pulled pork, fresh pineapple, jalapeños, feta, cilantro & crème fraiche Everything just comes together on this one!! So delicious and even great late night cold as a snack!!

Drove into Birmingham on a Friday night and tried to go to another restaurant around 8PM, but it was packed so we went here instead. We waited about 10 minutes around 9PM, but it was definitely worth it! I tried the draft root beet and really enjoyed it. Im not a root beer aficionado so not sure if it was anything special, but it was good. We split a pizza with street corn and the chicken gouda. The 16 inch was plenty for two people and we had about 4 slices left after. The street corn was my favorite as it was incredibly cheesy, but the gouda was also fantastic. It was a cold night, and they had the doors open which was a little iffy, but overall we really enjoyed coming here and would recommend it to others who love pizza!

We walked up the street with a half dozen other diners. Wooden City is definitely not in the best part of BHM. Walking to the restaurant was a little sketchy, no need for a detailed description. Although we had reservations, the hostess looked at us like we had three eyes. She found a small table for us in the far back of the restaurant. No problem, at least we were seated. Our server greeted us quickly and went over the menu. We ordered drinks, blistered Hungarian peppers and a sausage and mushroom pizza. We told him that we were going to a concert and were on a little bit of a tight schedule. By the time our server checked on our food, the second time, we went from a little bit tight to full "gotta get out of here" mode. I guess the delay in getting our food was to give the kitchen time to burn our pizza. Over half of the thick, chewy crust was inedible. The bottom of the pie didn't fare much better. The peppers, on the other hand, were amazing. (not so much so at 2 am but that's just me!) They are a do not miss. We were at least able to settle our bill quickly and made it to the concert with time to spare. Overall, would we go back? Only if in the area - those peppers were amazing. Still, I definitely would not make a special trip.

Yet,…read morewe are humans, we cannot stop ourselves at the Neapolitan classic version, the iconic NYC slices nor the Chicago deep dish. Something within us, is tirelessly reinventing. Whether good or bad, someone else can decide. A real distinction of Pizza Grace is in its most fundamental element, and the aspect that one could argue to be the most important part of any pizza, period. Of course, that would be the crust. The crust here is created with wild yeast sourdough, called "Frank", resulting in a unique profile regardless of what later lands on top of the pizza. Let's pause here for just a second, is it not ridiculous having to wait 24-48 hours for the slow crust fermentation to happen? Apparently, the owners Chef Ryan Westover and his wife Helene didn't think so. Their signature pizza here is no less impressive either: topped with Louisiana crawfish, ricotta, Parmesan, mint and basil. It is a true star of the show. It's hard for most people to pinpoint exactly where they had the best pizza of their life, but this warehouse building in Alabama might just end up being that spot.

I loved that they had chili oil, extra dipping sauce, cheese, and peppers on the side for you to grab. While our time there we even had some gelato which was good and got some cheese cake to go. I was greeted by the front employee, who was wiping down the final tables before service started. I viewed the menu and saw they offered pizza in different sizes and toppings. They also served pasta, including lasagna, chicken alfredo and spaghetti. I learn that the front employee's name was Solomon. He proved excellent customer service to me, answering all of my questions. He even pulled up a special menu on the TV for me to see that changes every day of the week, serving pizza by the slice instead of a whole pie. I ordered the Spaghetti with mushroom meat sauce, which included garlic bread and a side salad. I also ordered 2 pepperoni pizza with a drink. My total was right at $22 dollars for everything. To me, this was a bargain to get so much food as well. The setting of the table featured red and white tablecloths, which made it feel like a real Italian pizzeria. There are about 30-35 tables, with bar stool seating areas for single guest to enjoy the Birmingham view. My food took about 12 minutes to come out, and Solomon bagged everything nice and neatly before I made it to the counter. I went back to the stool seating to enjoy my food. Once he realized I was dining in, he brought over a parmesan cheese shaker for me to use with my food. This was top tier for me! Very observative. The Meal: I can tell you now that the portion sizes are humorous! The pizza is large thin, hand tossed slices that filled the box of a small pizza. The pasta was enough to feed three people, so they give you a well amount for your money. The pizza had to be eaten folded, which I enjoyed a lot. The pizza sauce was full of flavor, didn't seem like anything out of a can. The slices were cheesy, saucy and not overly greasy with a perfect crust. Some of the pizza I've enjoyed in Birmingham. The spaghetti mushroom meat sauce pasta was very meaty and full of mushrooms. The mushrooms could have been sauteed more before adding to the sauce. As the pasta was full of meat, the sauce could have been more. to cover the bottom of the noddle as well. The garlic bread bursted with buttery, garlicy herb flavor and was super airy and fluffy, not like hard toast baked to plinko chips consistency. The salad was super fresh and simple. The cheese was thick, hand shredded mozzarella cheese with fresh romaine lettuce and a slice of tomato. The ranch dressing was not my favorite, but the house vinaigrette was 10/10! I could drink that dressing; it was so good. I was able to wash it all down with various Coca-Cola fountain drinks or fresh brewed tea (Sweet or Unsweet). Coke Zero was an option, which made me happy! Overall, this visit earned a solid 4.5/5 and I would patronize with them again. Customer service as 5/5, thanks to Solomon. The chefs were hard at work the entire time. By the time I left, 75% of the tables were taken and mostly everyone was eating already too. Check them out if you're in the area! -DASC
