My friend and I stopped here recently. We are huge fans of the Lakeview location and decided to try this location. I'm shocked I had never been here since I live minutes away. This location is nestled in the Crestline neighborhood near a Pilates studio and a bakery. Our server, the jazzy lady with the electric blue glasses and short haircut was awesome and so helpful. We ordered the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer and the Old School as our pizza of choice. The garlic cheese bread was missing something...I think the garlic. I didn't taste anything but cheese. It was good but not like I remember from past visits. The crust on the Old School also seemed to be thicker than I remember. But it wasn't a deal breaker. The rest of the pizza tasted just as I remembered, very flavorful and plentiful. One of the best things has always been how great this pizza tastes reheated the next day. It's a winner just for that! I enjoyed my visit here and will return in the near future.

The atmosphere was great! Nice people. My bartender Abbie was fantastic, always on it when any of us needed something!

The building is a renovated house and offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a coffee shop by day, and after 4pm, it turns into a 21+ bar and venue that restricts laptop use. The barista was super friendly, and it was obvious they were a pro because the espresso was dialed in. Aside from your usual espresso based drinks, they offer tea and seasonal drinks, like strawberry matcha, as well as pastries. I do feel like it's a bit overpriced and outdated to charge $1 for alt milk, but that seems to be the norm in Birmingham. All in all, I'm impressed with the type of atmosphere that House Eleven is delivering to 1st Avenue North and would definitely go back to try other drinks.

They have a food truck that I've heard wonderful things about and I ordered the chicken Caesar salad. It was almost like a chopped Caesar salad and it was just the right amount for a small girl dinner. If you like Parmesan cheese, this is a must order as they do not skimp on that! What was really nice however was that you couldn't tell the food was from a food truck. It was great quality and you are able to order from inside the bar and they deliver it to you. That was a great service. I can't quite remember which cocktail I got, but it was very delicious and at one point the server had even given me a new chilled glass so my drink would remain cold as I sipped on it. This is definitely a great date night spot or just a place to grab a drink with friends, definitely a little more upscale as we were there in the evening, so the lights were dim. I won't drop my rating as it's spring time in the South but I remember being cold immediately as I walked in- but that's typical for a lot of places.

My husband and FIL liked theirs too. My MIL felt there was barely any alcohol in hers but I cannot confirm. We did have a hiccup with the bill being completely wrong (and we were overcharged twice) but it was all settled. There were not very many people at the bar for a Friday night. But perhaps it's a more late(r) night place. We are all geriatric in our party (sort of). I didn't mind and it seemed to be picking up when we were leaving. Overall decent, but maybe I miss Pale Eddie's just a bit.

I ordered the featured Old Fashioned for the evening along with a WhistlePig flight, both were excellent. The Old Fashioned was smooth, balanced, and exactly what a bourbon lover hopes for. One thing I really appreciate about Sloan's is that they host tastings almost weekly (or very often), and they're great about posting details on their social media so you always know what's coming up. It makes the experience feel curated and intentional. The service is always amazing; knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly passionate about bourbon. And the atmosphere? Grown and sophisticated. It's the perfect spot for a date night, a business meet-up, or just a refined night out if you appreciate a good pour. If you love bourbon and want a polished, elevated experience in Birmingham, Sloan's is the place

As I walked in the bartender yells at me, "What part of banned for life don't you understand....?" Fortunately, the PTSD keeping me on perpetual edge kicked in immediately and I responded, "Hey you're wearing my t-shirt you... give it back. And, how can I be banned from a place I've never been before?" The bartender and I then got down to the long history of Marty's PM (formally in Five Points), the legal and jurisdictional control of lifetime bans, and general 'long time no see, how you been?' chit chat. The place is situated in a nearly empty strip mall, which gives it a slightly post-apocalyptic vibe. It was nevertheless pretty crowded. They seem to be serving the same healthcare professionals/biker crowd that used to populate the 5-points version back in the day. I didn't try the food, but it looked pretty good. The prior version had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches to be found. My only knock on the place would be the lack of draft beers. I toughed it out drinking Jack and Cokes. It's a little out of the way for me, but I suspect I'll be back sooner rather than later.

My friends and I played some pool, had some drinks and then decided to leave. Before leaving, my best friend and I decided to go to the ladies room. Upon discovering that all bathrooms save one were full, we elected to go into the single available bathroom together. I will at this point acknowledge that there was a sign on the bathroom door that said "one person at a time" that we did not see initially. After entering the bathroom, but after I had disrobed to the point necessary to use the bathroom, we heard someone BEATING on the door saying only one person allowed at a time. We explained through the door that one of us was in the process of using the bathroom, and that we would be out shortly. The banging on the door continued, and, when I stated that I was mostly naked (to use the bathroom) this person returned "I bet you are." Once we were finished using the bathroom, this person ( a man who was identified as one of the owners by a friend, but not confirmed as such by me) aggressively confronted us about the bathroom policy, sayin we would be kicked out. I told him I was about to leave anyway, and that we'd only decided to go into the bathroom together once the other bathrooms were deemed full, and that, further, it was more efficient to use the bathrooms in pairs, where one person used it, while another washed their hands. He was not receptive to this feedback and further pointed to the sign. Upon walking away, the women he was with even stated that I was "such a b*tch", to which he did nothing. If this was an owner, I am appalled at the treatment of a patron. Had this been handled differently, I would have gladly offered an explanation and apology. Further, if this owner allowed his guest/date to insult me loudly across the bar, it makes me wonder what else they allow. If this is someone not affiliated with the bar, which, based on the passion of the affront, I doubt, I encourage the bar to better police their patrons, as this encounter made me feel very unsafe. I won't be back.
