Half Margarita pizza & Half Angel Pizza!

Pizza and Salad tasted really Amazing! Very Unique pizza and salad and my whole family enjoyed everything.

Stopped here with my nephew for lunch. I didn't know prior to going but Just know it's Detroit style only, no other crust option, but they do it well. The pizza regular looks small, but it's thick and filling. A few slices and you're good. We did the pepperoni and the Good Paulie. Both were really flavorful but the Good Paulie was def my fav. We got the regular size and still had leftovers. We did a half order of the Zia fries, which were more than enough for two. The Caesar salad was good, just a little heavy on the dressing. As for service, our server Drummond was nice and took good care of us. However, the hostess tried to seat us right next to a large group, like arm's length close. I asked for a booth and was told no because it was "busy," even though there was no wait. We ended up sitting at the empty bar, and the booth stayed empty the entire time. Just didn't love the lack of consideration there. Oh and on Sundays they have buy one get one 50% off, so that was a plus.

I was looking for something quick and good! And I hit the jackpot!!!!!!! the atmosphere was really inviting, we sat inside but they also have outdoor seating! The decor was really simple and elegant! The waiter was really nice and very attentive! The salad and mozzarella sticks were fresh and delicious (I loved the big amount of marinara sauce we received) ! The deep dish was the star of the show - I'm super picky when it comes to pizza so I was really impressed by the sauce and cheese! The only thing I didn't like was no tomatoes or spinach to add as additional toppings! Other than that I will definitely be going back !!! (Pizza was pineapple, chicken, spicy beef, and green peppers)

Dropped by for late evening dinner on a Thursday. We had the Hawaiian pizza and the shaved Brussel salad. Not sure I liked the blue cheese flavor with the Brussels. Probably won't get that again. Pizza was outstanding. Cupped pepperoni, thick cut bacon, pineapple. Mmmm. Love the crust. Its a buttery and flaky thick crust. Very different, Detroit style. Service was great. Coke served in a can. Sit down and order style place.

The Brussels sprout salad is amazing as well as my friend tells me the gluten free pizza crust is the best she's had from all around town- Mac our server was such a treasure- he was kind and will do great things. The tiny dinosaurs are so cute in there,

A little bit of Nashville, a little bit of Detroit! Can't beat a Detroit-style pizza with Nashville hot chicken on top. The crust on this pizza is divine, full of crispy melted cheese. The hot chicken + white sauce + house pickles is just the pizza combo you never knew you needed. Can't go wrong with Emmy Squared!

I ordered a burger. It was decent . My friends order the pizza and the cheese pull was amazing. Nice spot to grab a simple lunch. The service was good as well.

Pizza was fantastic, much better than my expectations. This has to be the best Detroit style pizza not in Detroit

Overall the pizza was good. I went here with My friends and their children. Family friendly environment. I'll definitely have to go back again!

Ate at Emmy tonight. It was delicious! We got the hot chicken pizza which was the right amount of spicy and flavorful! I like the crispy crust and the cheesiness of it. The staff was great and ambiance always good!

This was my first time visiting Emmy Squared as my coworker recommended we try them for lunch. When we got to the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and seated. We noticed it wasn't really busy, especially since there was only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. But he did a great job with constantly making his rounds. After looking over the menus, we of course wanted to try their pizza. I ordered the Colony pizza. It came with honey but I declined it as I don't really care for "sweet" pizza. The Colony was your typical pizza. It was served hot and was delicious. I really enjoyed the buttery, thick crust and the pickled jalapeños. Will definitely come back and try another dish as they also serve salads and burgers/sandwiches.

    Le Bleu Burger

Honestly, my review for this place is pretty mixed. I had the Le Bleu burger and fries, and the burger is a mix of different meats, but it really lacked in flavor. It was really greasy and the bun was also kind of burnt. If I was going solely off of the burger, I'd give this place a 2/5. My friend got the Emmy pizza, and it was so good. I loved the sauce on top, and the crust was very fluffy and flavorful, I really wish I had gotten that instead. The burger was $19 and to add fries was $7 which I found to be incredibly high for the food I got. I will say, overall the food seemed really overpriced for the quality of food you got. If I went back, I would definitely stick with a pizza, but I'm not sure I would try this place again.

Came here to catch up with a friend. He had suggested to come here and been wanting to try it. I had never heard of it, but I'm glad he suggested it! He got the vodka pizza (vodka sauce, basil, and pecorino) and said it was really good. I got the angel pizza, and it was delicious. It had truffle mushroom cream, ricotta cheese, and mushrooms. I think it is now my favorite pizza in Birmingham. We both ended up eating all of our respective pizzas - it was that good. I also did get the Not From the Stand drink (vodka, lime juice, cherry, and sprite) and it was great too. They have a lot of other options if you aren't feeling pizza that day. The burgers and sandwiches look good, as do several of the appetizers (wings and zia fries especially). So yeah... I'll definitely want to come back here again.

Seated immediately and ready to take your order as soon as you decide. The Standard Burger (Lettuce. tomato, onion, pickles, horsey sauce & american cheese) is really good. Fries are cooked just right. Previously I got a mix of the Fries and Onion Rings. Onion Rings are great too! I have had The Three Hander sandwich (Niman ranch corned beef, fries, tomato, jalapenos, creamy slaw, dijonaise, mozzarella on sourdough) from their original location which is great too. I should probably try other things as well but the lunch deal is hard to pass up. Since it is not too far from my office, will definitely continue to be a part of my regular lunch rotation. Only downside for me is the parking. There are limited spots on the street out front. Adjacent to the building there is a lot that is part of the apartment complex behind it but not really enough spaces for the 2 restaurants.

The staff was friendly and patient as I forgot my readers so a lot of questions were asked. Thank you Andreana. We had the tenderloin (which I haven't had in YEARS). I was not disappointed. We also had the southerner and it was tasty. They had a happy hour where I got a wine and husband got a frozen drink. Then round 2 I opted for the daily drink, daiquiri. Each day there is a different drink as a special. I enjoyed the music and the vibe. Would come back to this place when I'm in Birmingham again.

I made a reservation ahead of time so we wouldn't have to wait, and everything went smoothly. We were seated promptly at a table right in front of the kitchen, which was actually a really nice spot. Our server, Pratim, was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. A couple of my friends ordered drinks, including Prosecco and a Lemon Drop, and both looked delicious. We started with the truffle bread and burrata. I've had the bread before and already knew I enjoyed it, but this was my first time trying the burrata, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! For my entrée, I decided to try something new and ordered the Margherita pizza with extra sauce and cheese. This was actually my first time trying the pizza here, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! My other friends ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals. Of course, I couldn't leave without dessert! I originally wanted to try the salted caramel dessert, but unfortunately, they were out of it. I opted for the Affogato instead, which is ice cream served with espresso. While I enjoyed the flavors, I found that I preferred tasting the ice cream and espresso separately rather than together. I also made two trips to the restroom during our visit, and both times everything was clean and well-maintained. Overall, another wonderful experience! Between the delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service, this restaurant continues to be one of my favorites. It's a great place to get together with friends, enjoy a good meal, and make memories. I'll definitely be back!

The bartender was friendly and she fixed some darn good drinks. They have live music, a plus in my book. They also have outside seating. We started with fried oysters and fried crab claws, both could have been seasoned a little more, other than that they were pretty tasty. I ordered the twice baked tater with chicken and it was surprisingly good and loaded with chicken. My husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The ribs were very tender but needed more smoke flavor. The baked beans were not good; lacked flavor and tasted like canned pork and beans. The mac and cheese was decent, nothing to brag about. The owner/manager stopped by and apologized for the wait. It took a while for our appetizers to arrive. I appreciate the fact that he took the time to address the wait as he did with other customers. Our server was friendly, very attentive and also apologized for the wait. We do plan on returning to try other items on the menu and to have a good drink.

Hillside Music & Que just recently opened under new management. It was most recently Palm & Pig. I tried it when it was Palm and Pig and I thought it was rather good. Hillside is located near the Vestavia City Center right next to Bob's Power Equipment, which ironically has been in that location for over 20 years at least. Hillside is located on at the end of a small strip so they have a nice outdoor space with a covered patio. It's great for a guitar player and with big heaters is even pleasant to sit out there (when it wasn't Hillside). The interior is quite large despite the small entrance. It extends quite far to the back. They have a nice little bar and a good side stage for their many live performers. In fact their very model for this restaurant thrives on live performers with "Band Inquiries Call 205-901-2225" centered on their menu! Our party arrived on bustling Friday evening. Luckily we didn't have to wait long at all and got a table right away. Our server arrived quickly and got our drink orders. There wasn't a performer but the place was loud with chatter. While we were there, a two man guitar group started setting up. Our drinks arrived promptly and our orders taken. About 15 minutes later our food arrived. Matthew tried the Diablo burger. I had to have a bite and it was spicy as promised. Their "Dooom a -que" sauce wasn't bad. Tammy and Jack tried the Philly. Shaved ribeye, caramelized onions and topped with American cheese on a cuban roll. It also wasn't bad. Plentiful grilled beef and good bread. Sarah had the Hillside burger. It was also good and burger a nice medium. I tried the shrimp poboy. Lettuce, onion, pickle were topped with 6 perfectly fried shrimp in a slightly toasted hoagie bun. After I lathered it with the smoked tomoato aioli sauce which was served on the side, I took my first bite and was impressed. I've had worse and this poboy was quite enjoyable! Yom Yom Yom. We also really enjoyed the "okra fries". The cucumber salad was rather underwhelming and the fries were soggy and undersalted. Surprisingly none of us tried any of their bbq. A good reason to return. We had a good time and had great service. If you enjoy good ole southern comfort food and good live entertainment, give Hillside a try.
