Another spontaneous social outing with cool people. Hamburger or pizza, I chose pizza and Pies & Pints was the perfect spot for convenience and something new for all of us. Nice spot, love the setup. Walked in and went straight to the restroom because there was not a hostess at the station. I returned to the dining area and one of my friends had us a table. Laykin was our server and I had to tell her that she was very nice because she really was. So this is not the place for my usual fruity type of drink. I still inquired about something that would still fit the bill and Laykin gave us the opportunity to try the Ciderboys Grand Mimosa, we loved it at a nice quantity and price since it was Happy Hour. I ordered the 10" Classic Pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and banana peppers (on the side). Oh and extra sauce, just like I like it. The pizza arrived pretty quickly (the temp was not to my liking, warm not hot). Nevertheless, I liked each bite because of the flavor. Just the right amount of meat and sauce. I love sauce, my personal preference. It was not crowded which was a plus in getting in and out at a decent time. Pies & Pints was a couple of blocks from my hotel, so I capped my night there. The place looked pretty new, and it was totally lively and happening for a Wednesday night. There was quite a bit of people occupying the bar, but I was able to grab a seat at the bar with no problem. I liked the variety of beers at Pies & Pints. They have a beer market fridge with bottled and canned craft beers as well as several craft brews on tap. I tried three local IPA's: Good People (Birmingham, AL), Snake Handler double IPA (Birmingham, AL), and Monkeynaut IPA (Huntsville, AL). I enjoyed them all. Since I had dinner elsewhere, I can't vouch for the pizza. I will say that Pies & Pints' specialty pizzas all looked amazing. My new friend whom I made at the bar had the spinach and mushroom pizza, which he mentioned to me was as good as it looked. I did have the chocolate brownie terrine for dessert though, and it was bomb! The chocolate brownie layers were basically the best part of brownies - the edges. The brownie parts had nice crunchiness to them yet were still soft and chewy. In between the chocolate brownie layers were peanut butter, and then the whole thing was covered in chocolate ganache. Super rich and decadent. Overall customer service was great. My bartender was very nice and attentive. Even though the bar was considerably busy, I didn't have to chase her down for my next drink. When I went to Pies & Pints recently, I was astounded by how delicious and fresh everything tasted! Every mouthful was bursting with flavor as I constructed my own pizza with roasted garlic, red onions, banana peppers, seasoned black beans, fresh basil, jalapeños, spinach, seasoned corn, and cheddar. With the jalapeños providing the ideal kick and the roasted garlic adding a deep richness, the ingredient combination was ideal. The middle of the crust was still mushy and chewy, but the outside was delightfully crispy. Everything tasted quite fresh, and it's clear they use high-quality products. The service was excellent as well; the staff was polite and the turnaround time was fast. It was a nice location to eat because of the busy yet friendly ambiance, but I could also see this business being a great place to get takeaway. We popped in for a quick lunch on a Sunday and really enjoyed it! We drove up, had our choice of street parking right in the front. We were seated immediately. We opted to sit outside, since it was a gorges day, and, you know, the pandemic is still raging. We had the entire patio to ourselves. I ordered the Street Corn Pizza and my husband the Thai pizza. They were pretty busy when I arrived. I grabbed a seat at the bar where the bartender was hustling. She took my drink order quick and had my pint delivered before I had a chance to read the menu. I ordered a basic pizza and felt it was above average as far as pizza goes. The wait for the food was longer than it should have been, but one of the kitchen staff called in sick. I ordered for delivery and downloaded the Yelp app as advised to track my order. The driver picked up the food but never delivered it to me. I was robbed of a $78 order with no recourse. The restaurant gave me the driver's name, who, of course, never answered the phone. Yelp took the order but if you have problems, they say deal directly with GrubHub. I didn't have a Grub Hub account to deal directly. When I created one, it was created after the order, so I had no history. All the way f---ed! read more

This is my Go-to pizza place! I am a big pizza fan so when I moved to Birmingham and found Pies and Pints, I knew this place would never get old. The have a great menu, good atmosphere, and good service. My roommates and I go all the time. We always order the garlic bread with cheese as an appetizer. The salads here are amazing and really good portions. I either get the Greek or Caesar salad. Whenever I go, I try and get a different pizza to try. My two favorites that I've tried are the Chicken Chipotle pizza and the Margarita pizza. I can't wait to go back and try something new! read more

I love going to Pies & Pints for some phenomenal pizza! As someone with dietary restrictions, it's always nice seeing a variety of things I can choose from, and I am able to do that here. I always get a gluten free crust with olive oil/roasted garlic, vegan cheese, spinach, kalamata olives, and basil. If you enjoy craft beer, this restaurant has a lot of different options to choose from! The employees are kind and helpful in recommending appetizers and items to customers. I went to Pies and Pints and I absolutely love this place whenever I go! I usually get the Mushroom Garlic pizza, but this time my roommate and I decided to get a large pizza with half Nashville Hot Chicken and half Chipotle Chicken. And the Nashville Hot was probably the best pizza I have ever had (close to buffalo pizza... my favorite)!!! This was the first time I had seen a pizza with pickles on it, so that was interesting, but it was so delicious. It also had chicken, onions, and some sauce which I don't know the name of but it was very good. And it was even better dipped in ranch, which is what I always eat my pizzas with. The atmosphere and workers of Pies and Pints are always so nice. I will definitely be going again. The only complaint I have is that it is a little pricey, but the quantity is pretty nice. read more

Lol Ordered a "classic" pizza, which is a house specialty pizza, that had all kinds of goodness on it. Pepperoni, sausage, fire roasted peppers, mushrooms and banana peppers. YUM! You guys! The cheese was amazingly fresh & delicious! The crust was thin and crispy, but still somewhat chewy in spots. The sauce was sweet & savory. Quite delicious! And all the toppings made it that much better! I ate every single piece. It was a small. I probably could've done without the last two slices, but, it would've gone to waste, so...! The only thing I would've wanted here was a hot lamp on my table to keep the pizza the exact temperature as when it first came out. It definitely got cold faster than I could eat it! I also ordered the wings on the side, but as I told the waiter, I had to he a total hater and send them back. The concept sounded good, but at the end of the day, they were too burnt to like the taste of that char, they were lacking in flavor & that Gorgonzola cheese ranch (or whatever dip comes with the wings) wasn't doing it for me. Had a very disappointing experience here today 2/26/24. I went in around 1:30 for a late lunch in between meetings. I stood at the host stand for 5 minutes, during which three different staff members made eye contact with me and then walked the other way. I stepped outside to see if I could find hours on the door, thinking that maybe I had come after they closed or something. I confirmed on my phone that they were still open. I walked back inside to the host staff, and one of the staff members who initially ignored me walked and said in a very annoyed tone, "Yes??" I responded that I would love to be seated at a table if that was okay. He snatched a menu up off the host stand, led me to a table, slammed the menu down on the table and walked away. I was absolutely dumbfounded. I waited for about three more minutes to see if someone could come and serve me and then ended up just leaving. Very disheartening and off-putting to be refused service so passive aggressively for reasons unknown. I definitely will never go back. read more

The concept is flawless, pizza and beer. I went with a group and shared appetizers and pizza. First we got the pork nachos. They were quite good but not as abundant as I am used to. Then we ordered a large pizza. The Swine and Pineapple. It came as thin crust and was very skimpy on toppings, several slices would be totally lacking in one of the toppings. Also the area covered by the pizza toppings was not enough to cover the pizza leaving a 2 inch band of crust around the edge. So it was like getting a small pizza with extra crust. As I am not a crust lover this was dissapointing especially for the premium price of $24.00. The beer selection is good. And they have several bottled varieties not obtainable at other bars. One Caveat is that there is no noise damping and it is painfully loud when busy. I do not like to have to shout to be heard by friends at my table. read more

First time here and my whole family came away impressed. Our table got garlic bread with cheese & marinara sauce for an app, a couple salads, and a 16" pepperoni pizza and all of it was very good. We got the house vinaigrette dressing and the salad had a good mixture of ingredients as well as homemade croutons. The pizza wasn't my favorite in town but it was still really good and warrants a 5 star rating. A pretty good beer menu as well with some good local and national brews. Beer prices pretty much on par with anywhere else downtown but they did have a Genesee cream ale for $2. Hard to beat that. We'll be back! read more

This is my second time eating at Pies and Pints and neither disappointed. Both times I've gotten the char-grilled wings ( dry rubbed and marinated in sriracha hot sauce, citrus, garlic, cilantro and served with a very refreshing creamy Gorgonzola sauce) because they are that good. They are charred to perfection and the sauce compliments the wings very well. Also, tried their take on potato skins which is served on pizza dough. It was a pleasant surprise. On the first visit I got the Hot Mama Pizza ( capicola, mozzarella, sweet hot peppers, and tomato sauce) and it was cooked perfectly but it seemed to take a little longer than estimated but the quality was well worth the wait. Even better through the YELP app Pies and Pints offers 7% cash back on credit cards linked through yelp. Not much but every little bit helps. Lol. This place is another great pizza joint in Bham with some of the best wings in town comparable to the smoked wings at Saw's, Moe's, Full Moon, and Jim n' Nicks. Sorry for the wing tangent but I love chicken wings and always trying them at different places. Check out happy hour for $2 off on apps and $1 off on select beers from 3pm-6pm M-F. I live in New York but came down here for business. I must say this is some of the best pizza I've ever had their specialty pies are incredible with their combinations of toppings and flavors. It's like a pub that specializes in beer and pizza in this place did not disappoint. This location was just a few blocks from the Marriott I was staying at so quick few minutes to make the walk. It's a nice corner restaurant with ample seating and a bar area. Service was great and the Food comes out quickly. Me and my coworkers shared a few pies and they were all delicious but the winner was the mushroom garlic Specialty pie - wow exclamation it really just hit all your taste but in the right spot. Also tried the Thai pie from coworkers recommendation which was excellent and I went for the pine and swine Too. We started off with a Caesar salad but I would skip that next time and just get another slice in my belly. :) Can't comment on the beer but they look like they have a variety of alcohol there, but wasn't in the mood that night. We had such a great night having dinner with friends at this Pies and Pints location. First, I must give a shout out to our server, Daisha. She provided amazing service the entire evening. Attentive, helpful, and just overall very kind and wonderful! We selected the chips and salsa as an appetizer. For $5 it was a great choice! Plenty of thick chips with a flavorful salsa. We were hungry when we arrive and this came to the table quickly and was a good amount for the price. We also ordered a Caesar salad but got the Gorgonzola dressing on the side. The lettuce was crisp and the dressing was tasty. Plain Jane and exactly what we wanted to accompany our pizzas. We chose the small black bean pie and a cheese pizza with half vegan cheese, half regular (you can only split pies if you order a large!). The cheese pizza was great. Good sauce/cheese/crust ratio. The best of the basics! The black bean pie was especially tasty! Jalapeños offer just the right amount of spice. Salsa and beans may be unexpected flavors on a traditional pizza crust , but my husband and I both loved it. It will definitely be a pie we order again! This is probably my favorite "craft pizza" spot in town thus far. I think you can always judge pizza places by how good or bad their basic pepperoni pizza is, and this place nails it. They have so many interesting and creative pizzas, but I always go back to the pepperoni. It's just perfect. In addition to the pepperoni, I tried the Chicken Gouda and my date tried the Mushroom Garlic, and added chicken. She ended up saying that the pizza was so good she could've easily enjoyed it without the chicken. The Chicken Gouda is very popular, and rightfully so...it's great. I do find that I get tired of it quicker than others though. Another thing...they have a ton of craft beers, ciders, and wines to choose from. My date isn't much of a beer/cider drinker, but off of our servers recommendation she tried the Wolffer Dry Red Cider and gave it rave reviews. Only con is the wait time is frequently very long to get food, but come with time to kill and I guarantee you'll enjoy yourself. read more
